Unus Annus? More like, help me I’m still mourning. I started this back when they created the Atlantis video, then left it, then made more progress when they posted the actual mer video (non surprisingly that’s my favourite UA video). Then it was left to gather dust again, then I did more just before and after the funeral. Since then I’ve revisited it now and again, but yesterday night I FINALLY finished the animatic! Now I just have to get on with that animation 🥲
Anyway, I will always draw merfolk, and no I will never change.

This channel has been something special. This has been a difficult year for me and many other people, but this has made it something that I will never forget. Both Ethan and Mark have meant so much to me for many years and Unus Annus has only made you all mean so much more to me. This has been the light in the darkness and confusion of all the chaos of this year. Watching the stream, I feel both happy and devastated. I am so grateful to be a part of this experience and the meaning of this channel will stick with me forever. I am heartbroken that this is over, but these memories are so special. Mark and Ethan, I love you both with my whole heart and you are both brilliant. You have helped me more than you know and I wish you the best of luck in your bright futures. The Unus Annus team, you have created something truly beautiful and all of you are unmeasurably talented. To this community, you all are amazing, wonderful people. Thank you, Ethan, Mark, Amy, Evan and all the people who’ve made this year so memorable. It couldn’t have been easy to pull it off and you did all of this wonderfully.
I was here from the start and I’ll admit, there have been days I haven’t watched even as I tried to catch up. Life has a habit of keeping you on your toes, you know? It gets a little tiring sometimes and it helps to have my ‘comfort video’. I loved the memes, loved the videos you guys have pushed beyond your limits. Though it will be gone, the joy it brought will always be remembered.
This year has been tough on many of us. I know I’m not where I want to be yet, but this channel has helped me realize so much. Helped me to just let go and try to live, go out of my comfort zone. It’s hard to start change for the better, and even harder to keep going but Unus Annus is all about living your life knowing it’ll end, so make the best of it. When Ethan said he felt he was stuck, that really just hit me because I felt everyone was passing me by. Mark is right, in my case at least, that I’m terrified of just being stuck in the same place. I will be better, if not for me, then for the people I look up to.
To all the wonderful people who were inspired and have been on this journey of a channel, thank you. The artists, the writers, viewers, you are all a part of this community and made it special. The feeling of loss will be normal and some days will be harder than others and that’s okay.
Take a deep breath, cry, it’s okay to be sad. I’ll be here if you want to talk, it isn’t really dead. Not if we remember.

Honestly, this has been the best year of my life, despite everything. I feel like this is the year I really became myself. Thank you so much, Mark and Ethan, for being part of my year and letting me be a part of yours.

This year has been a lot of things. Good, bad, and pee sauna. It’s so strange to reach this point, when there is nothing left. It’s an undefinable feeling. My regret is not having made friends along the way. I started 2020 with panic. I end looking back on this as the best year of my life. Thank you to everyone who ever crossed paths with this channel; you made this year what it was.

i started this halfway through the stream and it’s not as good as i would like but that’s life i guess. i missed like 90% of the videos, but i like the mystery. unus annus will die and i will never know it in its entirety, and im okay with that.
