I'm rewatching TGWDLM and I'm realizing during Ted's whole "I'm a creep?" speech, he isn't talking about Alice.
He's talking about Pete.
Pete's at Hatchetfield High.
Poor sweet Pete with his low blood sugar is in those halls, surrounded by singing zombies and Ted knows they haven't been parricularly close in a few years, but if he was in trouble he would still call him.

In that moment, Dutch wasn’t looking down at the broken 36 years old man.
He was looking at the 14 years old boy he had picked up from the street scared and abandoned.
He was looking at the boy him and Hosea taught to read, use a gun and treat women with respect.
He was looking into the eyes of his son that he passed his ideals and visions to, a son whose family meant the most to him.
Look at the photos Arthur keeps in his tent. Pictures of his deceased parents and the photo of him, Dutch and Hosea. How he keeps the flower that reminds him of his mother.
He already lost his family once as a boy and treasured his found family with his whole heart. He deserved to be trusted and treasured just the same.
Arthur would’ve died for his family. And his father let him.

Luke has love for annabeth, his sister, Luke has love for Grover, his protector, but he saw a forbidden kid and made a calculated decision on how best to utilise him and planned to eliminate him easily and swiftly in one elegant move, using him as a mule in the progress.
Percy was looking for which one of his friends would betray him, not realising it was one who only called him friend.
Percy not being important to Luke doesn't change how meaningful that relationship was for Percy, but boy howdy does it make it that much sadder😭
I saw a post somewhere about how Percy is probably jealous of Jason's relationship with Nico, because Nico can connect with Jason as an older brother figure, while with Percy there's all this baggage and the reminder of Bianca hanging over them.
And I realized. Nico is probably jealous of Jason for similar reasons. Jason and Percy have this casual bromance going on. They fight together, they make storms together, they regard each other as equals. And Nico is just. There. The youngest one. The weird one. And there's too much stuff between him and Percy for them to ever be completely comfortable together, even though, I think, Nico would secretly love to get a Percy fistbump.
