Busy day... only got a small doodle of Effigy and Yellow Lantern done today. ×_×
Her real name is Katrina Crawford. I'll bet you can guess the reference there. Hue (more info once I make a ref sheet for her)
Heyo... self-indulgent OC time, boyes... I made a rough costume ref sheet for her, at least her three main costumes.
I’m still working on a basic story for her, which I may or may not eventually write down or make a short comic (at least one part of the story) But I can say a few cringy details:
Katrina Crawford, age 26 upon adopting the alias of Effigy, is an ex barista who casually knew (Lantern) Jon, as he was a regular customer. She officially met “Scarecrow” in a botched escape attempt that led him through the back of the cafe when Batman chased him there. He encountered her hiding in the back, and when she made an attempt to call for help, he stopped her, and used her as a hostage. This granted him just enough time to continue the chase. She recognized him when he took his mask off to take a breath, thinking he was alone. And for a while, she was terrified that he would kill her for being a witness, and for taking something from the scene.
It was a small capsule, something with what looked like tiny grains of sand, barely even filling the bottom. When curiosity got the better of her, she opened it back in her apartment. A small spark shocked her, and a cloud of smoke burst from the container. When she blew it away, everything was on fire. She ran for the door, screaming, but it wouldn’t move. She saw her only chance of escaping the inferno at the window, and leaped toward it. Something grabbed her before she fell, and what felt like a cold steam was thrown onto her face. In a moment, the fire disappeared, and everything was normal. “I guess that means you used it, hm?” he said disappointingly.
And although the Batman is unsure of the events that proceeded, he knows that a few weeks after then, one of his enemies would have a long lasting accomplice.
