And here is one I failed even more at--six sentences, instead of three:
âHere,â Zuko suddenly says, shoving the assignment brief heâs been reading all night in front of Sokkaâs face, like Sokka ever wants to look at the thing again. He doesnât particularly want to dwell on the source of the crumbling ashes of his once-bright future at the momentâhis final project that is due tomorrow and was going great up until it suddenly wasnât.
âA loophole,â Zuko says, triumph on his face, and Sokka thinks heâs suddenly getting a glimpse of just the kind of annoying, pedantic, stubbornly persistent lawyer Zuko is going to be when he graduates, the kind that bases entire arguments around Oxford commas. âThey said the student whose marble takes the longest to reach the bottom of their roller coaster without ever stopping wins.â His smile is just a little bit feral. âThey never define what a roller coaster is.â

For the 3 sentence fic prompts: pairing -> Zukka; AU setting -> law school!Zuko and engineering master's program!Sokka, attending the same university
Three sentences are hard! I do enjoy the challenge (even when I fail)
Mai purses her lips and eyes Sokkaâslumped face-first on his notebook, drool slowly but dangerous creeping toward the inked lines of his problem set, every pen, pencil, and piece of paper he apparently owns scattered around himâand then Zuko, who somehow fell asleep half in Sokkaâs lap, cradling his civil procedure textbook like the stuffed dragon he refuses to admit he owns anymore, as if hiding it in his closet when Sokka comes over means it isnât still there.
âShould we wake them up before they get locked in the library overnight again?â Mai finally sighs, digging out her phone to capture the moment for posterity.
âNo,â Azula says, already lining up the shot, her laptopâall you need for an MBA, as it turns outâneatly stowed. âWe definitely should not.â
