Soulmate AU Idea - Coins
Everyone is born with a magic coin on their forehead. When they come of age, the coin pops off. Whenever they meet someone they'll flip the coin. Tails, they're not your soulmate. Heads, they are your soulmate.
When both people flip theirs at the same time, which is the more traditional way, occasionally one coin will land on heads while the other on tails. This would mean that they are one-sided soulmates.
You can also choose to flip your coin while thinking of someone, and it will bare the same results. This would allow you to find out ahead of time, before you even properly introduce yourself to the new person.
Some people constantly do coin tricks because touching the coin brings them solace.
Others will shove theirs down into the bottom of their bags or their pockets and try to forget about them.
But if they try to misplace the coin entirely, it will always end up back somewhere on their person. As if drawn to them by an outside force than is stronger than they could ever imagine.
Hanahaki Lore Idea!
The Hanahaki disease was created by a cupid whose heart was broken by a human florist. They wanted them to not only feel the pain of unrequited love but also the pain of being hurt by what you love most.
Lore Idea:
People with velvet ribbons around their necks were actually once Dullahans.
Their real heads were found by someone and attached to them with enchanted ribbons that keep them bound to the person who found their head. (Similar to Swan Maiden and Selkie stories.)
Bonus: Their usually ghosty horse is turned into a normal horse and either kept locked up in a stable somewhere else where they cannot find it, or sold off to someone else. But the moment the ribbon is taken off their master they immediately change back and race towards their direction.
You are were-kin yourself and decide to follow them one day before the full moon out of curiousity. You see them setting up stuff to help another were with their transformation. This is how you find out your cousin is dating your human co-worker.
Every 28 days like clockwork your coworker takes a day off, even in the middle of the week. You notice that it always coincides with the full moon. This is interesting because they don’t smell unusual, and you can smell were-kin a mile away.
