no but like i get it, but i also dont. like i mean i think that if the characters will be mentally stable they'll get just boring. but on the other hand if they're gonna be unstable the writers should write it correctly. right now the writers are in a sort of limbo where characters are both getting better and worse at the same time without it making sense whatsoever? like pick which one you want to do dickheads. (like honestly one of the reasons why i love this show is because i get to shit on the writing at times) its so inconsistent and confusing. im not saying that characters cant relapse but you cant pretend that these sudden shifts in character is on purpose and not just the writers not being able to make up their minds.
im not saying that I'd do better if i was a writer for the show, they'd probably hate every idea I'd give but like that doesn't mean i cant point out blatant mistakes
i just dont understand how rick randomly shifts between being an egoistical ass, a caring grandfather and the most depressed man to ever exist between episodes. and dont even get me started on morty. people already pointed the inconsistencies of his character out so many times i dont even have to say anything honestly
sum up: i think the writers dont know if they want rick and morty to be or not be mentally ill. and I'd prefer it if they were cause thats more fun. but the writers cant make up their damn fucking mind and its making everything worse xx

Desert duo knows each other like a native language at this point, in the way Scar immediately knows the bread bridge is dangerous and Grian has to lie perfectly about it. They murder each other because that's what they know how to do and yet Scar apologizes for killing Grian when he couldn't defend himself. Still, Grian is the one to take Scar out of the series. It's Grian not knowing who to team with after the bad boys are gone but knowing he cannot team with Scar. It's Scar recognizing his parents in himself and Grian and trying to stay far, far away from that.

Cletho is the divorced couple of the series and they act like it. They hate each other, they're everything to each other. Neither of them can stop talking about each other, and both of them want to end each other so bad. The casual insults that only arise from comfort around the other. Etho’s spiel about them after his entire family has died, and you can hear how he hesitates before throwing the insults to the empty wind.

hunter is a conceptually funny character because like
normally a "bad but sad boy" like him would be the protagonist's love interest. i mean look at him: blonde hair, scars, MAGENTA EYES. this boy looks like he was made in a lab to be a generic YA love interest (i mean. he very much WAS made in a lab. but not like that). not to mention his trauma, trust issues, and heel-face turn. or the fact that he is technically royalty.
but no.
luz already HAD an (almost as Edgy) love interest. who she is now dating in a very happy and healthy relationship where she would never even consider cheating on or leaving her partner for somebody else
and there was no crush going on between hunter and luz. you've heard of "love at first sight", now get ready for "annoying siblings at first sight". she sees him unconscious and leans her face up close to his... AND SLAPS HIM. she offers him a safe place to run away to... with her second mom who would absolutely adopt him
Hunter has been through so much, but it was written beautifully. The poor boy made so much progress, he finally started liking who he was, and then Belos took it all away from him once again, so you'd think. But just looking at him post-possession. He's hurt, he's angry, but his mentality has changed. He's sad, and by god he's allowed to be, he just lost his best friend... and most definitely went through an INCREDIBLY triggering experience. But if this had happened in season 2, he would be hyperventilating right now; he would go straight into a panic attack. But he has a support system now, hobbies/coping mechanisms, and he has the love of his best friend INSIDE his heart. He's taking the next step to -truly- finding his purpose and loving himself once again and finding ways to cope with his anxiety. And I just think it's beautiful how much progress he has made in the human world.
