Oohhhhh is this about the Gwenpool thing?
Plus some light citogenesis spreading the concept far and wide.
Anon I'm gonna be real with you, I have no idea what this means or what this is referring to
Yeah. Basically someone made a comment that she was arguably already canon ace because of how her relationship motivation in ‘West Coast Avengers’ could be interpreted in-line with her solo series having had no romantic storylines, then an article mentioned that and it could be used as a reference, which gave her article the category and in-turn meant she began showing up in the search results more and more. She then ended up in the background of the Pride issue in what were arguably the ace flag colour scheme, fanart started picking up, and by the next year she was made canon. The sequence of events inevitable to anyone paying attention, but out of nowhere to anyone else. Earliest incident I can tell someone referring to her as asexuality in a nutshell on the open internet was in and around 2018. There is a fun argument somewhere on tumblr of this one user who would keep reiterating that Gwen wasn’t canon ace when people were putting her on their lists, and this other user would keep rebutting that the discussion was fine, and she wasn’t explicitly canon anything else either, and then here we went about it to the here and now.
Ahh gotcha gotcha. That's super interesting! Quite the journey to her canonization it seems, but I'm glad it happened however it did. Thanks for all the info, anon! /gen

Matthew Cuthbert - Green Gables Series and adaptions - Aroace
Don't you just love Matthew? He's the best. There was never an explanation given for him never getting married other than "he's shy." Actually, iirc, there's a line in AOGG where the narration straight up says he never even thought about it. So I claim him for the aroaces.
Does his shyness play a role in it? Maybe. But is it more likely that's just the excuse he gives for not wanting to since he's aroace? Yeah
Also, since I hc Anne as demiromantic, it just makes sense for her father figure to also be aspec, right? It works out perfectly that way.
I love Matthew. I'd want him to be my aroace father figure if I lived in Avonlea.
I'm curious...
Note: I do not hang around ace people in person. I am the only ace person I know and talk to regularly in my life. I'm curious about the answer because I notice a lot of people tend to touch the person they are attracted to in conversation. For example, they will lightly touch the person's arms, or put their hand on the person's lower back. However, I, an asexual person, do not do this.
Do other aces do this? I'm also curious about whether aros do this for their friends- but romantic attraction does not have the same image as platonic attraction in pop culture. If you have input, explain in the tags :)!
