Very happy to finally post my third tutorial! Thank you so much for your overwhelming support of my last tutorial, I am so happy it was useful for you guys đââď¸. I feel like this topic was harder to explain so feel free to ask me some questions if you want!
Like last time, I really hope this helps some of you in your art path đ

Itâs here !! The guide for two-legged people who donât know how to draw wheelchairs !!! 7 pages of infodump ! Disclaimer : I donât know everything, I have one (1) experience of wheelchair user who used both bad and good chairs, and I share what I learned.
Image description :
1) Calvin in his wheelchair saying âyoâ under a huge title âhow to draw manual wheelchairs properly by Calvin Arium, a wheelchair user comic artistâ.
2) A character says âmy character self propels in a chair that was outdated in 1970 lolâ Calvin says âso it looks like you two legged people donât know the difference between an hospital chair and a chair made to be independantâ an arrow point the crapppy chair, saying âwe never want to see this againâ
a bubble says âthe hospital chair is extremely unpractical, tough considering itâs cheaper than a good custom chair a lot of us have only thisâ
3) a character hurt himself trying to reach the wheels of the hospital chair. Several arrows point why the chair is unpractical : âhigh backrest restrain shoulders movementâ âhuge armrest restrains wheel accessâ âseparated footrest : amovible, cheap, bulkyâ âx structure, foldable but heavyâ âhuge front casters for stabilityâ âheavy wheelsâ
4) Several arrows point an active wheelchair (the KSL by KĂźshall) : âusually no armrestâ âa low backrest allow more movementâ âlight, design, ferning expersiveâ âspecial cushion to avoind injuriesâ âknee angle is usually 90°â âone single piece of frame, sometimes entirely weldedâ âweight : from 4 to 10kgâ âoften rigidâ âcenter of the wheel is the center of gravityâ âhigher quality wheels : less spikesâ
5) A hand grab different parts of the wheel, pushing harder in the second half. Bubbles says âsome have gloves, some donât. The hand must grab the biggest area possible. Less movement = more energy. This is a common but not only way to push.Calvin is on his back wheels, rolling on grass and dirt bubble says âpopping a wheelie is when a wheelchair user rolls on their back wheels to roll on every complicated surface.
6) several drawings illustrate the folding frame, the ergonomic but rigid and expensive backrest, the separated footrest (only for folding frame), the handles, the folding handles, athe amovibles handles, or no handles, the cool fancy loopwheels, the pretty custom colorsÂ
7) More Features ! The fancy rigid-foldable frame, the anti tippers (sometimes used by beginners), the motorization (wheels, smart drive) when propelling yourself is difficult Calvin says "and now vroom vroom motherfuckersâ

Thanks !
EDIT : Here is a youtube playlist about choosing, cleaning and using active manual wheelchairs in the public space, I learned a lot from those videos when I was a wheelie newbie. (Not sure theyâre all captionned tho) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3j9XB2x5HYmZqgLakRCNt_fjsVZjDAkJ

do you have any advice on anatomy? and how do you often draw/break it down in your style if that's okay to ask? :0
if youve got the time for it id recommended just buckling down and studying skeletons and muscles! like straight up google images human body diagram, copy it a few times from a few angles, and just memorize the largest bits,. its absolutely really ugh yikes tedious to copy a gazillion bones but being familiar with even just the general placements of certain bits of bone structure or large muscles makes it so much easier to make stylization decisions, draw quicker, visualize how the body is placed in 3d space, especially with no ref in front of you, etc etc and it definitely makes me feel studier in my people drawing?hhhh i know for sure ive got to properly study muscles at some point like i mostly just wing it so dont trust me too much on that
here ive done a few quick general notes and such on what i think about when im drawing but im sorry im realizing now theyre sort of messy.so.if you or anybody really wants to see clearer examples of how i draw anatomy i could share some of my pages from life drawing,, which i think are like.basically how i normally like to draw anyway but more focused on being proper,,. idk but if anyone thinks it could be helpful i can post some :)

Tuesday Tips - WATCH YOUR BACK! A reminder to not forget the large muscle groups in the back. They add structure and clearly influence the silhouette in different positions. Of course, I used a very muscular character to show more clearly those groups, but every body types will have those muscle groups underneath. -n

Tuesday Tips - EARS In storyboards, I often donât put too much thinking into drawing ears. I mostly draw them as shapes. The only time I really need to know the ins and outs of ear anatomy is when I draw an over-the-shoulder shot. I never wanna draw attention to it, but a poorly drawn ear WILL stick out. Other than that, you can only simplify something adequately if you know it well. Maybe Iâll do another posts later on âcartooningâ ears or modifying ears. Message me if you have requests. Norm

Tuesday Tip â The Nose Hereâs the way I approach the nose. For my taste, the simpler, the better. But itâs always good to know what youâre working with. Havre a great Tuesday! -Norm

Upon request someone asked for an anatomy tutorial! I kept it fairly general but if anyone wants something more specific, Iâm happy to make a more of them :D
Hi! Is there any chance that you'd be willing to do a tutorial on how to draw or colour noses? I adore the way you paint, and thought I'd ask since I can never do noses right. đ
Hey there!
Noses can be as hard to draw as hands, I can see why one would struggle with them. So hereâs a tutorial that will hopefully teach you a thing or two!

When I draw a nose from the front (which is 99% of the time) I like to start with the nostrils, because they are the most important and most visible part of the nose. Then I just make an outline of the shape by drawing the columella (bottom part of the nose between the nostrils), and the ala (side parts). I put some base color at the bottom of the nose and some lighter color at the bridge of the nose. Then I clean everything up and add some highlights at the tip of the nose and the sides of the ala, like shown.
For drawing a nose sideways you should think of the nose as 2 bubbles and a tube, it helps a lot. Then draw the nostrils and erase the lines of the circles that are not needed. In this drawing I assumed the light comes from above, so a shadow would form under the nose.
Here are some examples of the best noses that Iâve drawn:

Tip: when drawing a face itâs important to remember that the skin on the nose is a bit more pink/red than the rest of the skin!
Also, if youâre struggling a lot draw with a reference! Look up some pictures of noses and try to replicate the photo, thatâs how I learned to draw noses.

Hey, friends! Itâs Meg with another TUTOR TUESDAY!, Iâve finally bit the bullet and tried out a hand tutorial! Hopefully thereâs something new that will help you along with hands! If you have any tutorial recommendations for next week, lemme know! As always, keep practicing, have fun, and Iâll see you next week!
Hey! i like how you draw hands, can you do a guide on how you do it???????
I looove drawing hands, but they're as fun to draw as they are difficult đđ

Usually when I draw, I don't go for perfect realism/anatomically correct, I mostly follow whatever makes the drawing look good, with exaggerated shapes, sharp angles, etc.

Drawing with references is the best advice I can give you!
When I struggle to draw hands I usually just look at my own hand and try to copy it (I have a small mirror next to my computer to make it easier), it works, but it's not always the best option. If you want to improve quickly, find some pictures and practice by drawing them!
A lot of websites have a built-in timer for studies, here is the one I used for this one for example:

So yeah, practice practice practice! The more you draw, the better you'll get!

tutorial on how I (personally) draw fluffy/curly hair!!
(this does not include hair with very tight curled, or hair with high texture or "coil" curls! i can however attempt a tutorial on that as well :) )

for longer hair styles, or hair that is more wavy or more curly, simply make the bump-slope longer and more loose, or shorter and more tight depending on how you want!
I wish I could explain it better, but this is pretty much what I do! I tend to make fluffy hair at least a decent amount away from the "head", so that it looks less flat and has more volume, as well as having more upward facing "slopes" then down!
please let me know if you have any questions!
tutorial on how I draw side profiles !! :)
(this is just for a general no-perspective drawing!)

I've never drawn or done turtorials so I'm sorry if this is confusing!!! please let know if you have any questions, and I'm sorry if my hand writing is hard to read!

I gathered up some art tips I've learned over the years about figures and proportions for someone this morning- wanted to share in anyone else finds it useful!
