Also, if you have too re-read your work 100+ times before you post it, do that. It'll only help in the long run, I also find that bettering grammar is more engaging. I'd also advise that you use synonyms and similes. Synonyms simply for the fact that reusing the same word over and over again gets reputative and boring. Blue for example, you could use aqua, azul, sapphire, cobalt and even cerulean and cyan. Similes as well for the simple fact that it paints a realistic picture for your audience. Such as "his eyes were dark like stormy clouds." or "her eyes lit up like the stars in the sky."
