None can match the talent of Prince. He is an icon, and there may never be anyone like Prince again. Prince was a revolutionary who continues to inspire generations. Even though it’s going to be 2017, you can still party like it’s 1999!
RIP Prince, you are missed.

Art is not what I create // What I create is chaos
Super happy for this girl getting a Women in Music Rising Star Award! Super deserved. I love the original song but this version has such a different vibe that almost gives the song new meaning. This version is almost sadder, like if she’s longing for what could’ve been as opposed to an admittance of their relationship going downhill. The difference in spoken lyrics is also interesting, and it makes her sound like she’s realizing that she’s also partially at fault. I do love the original spoken part though and wish it was also in this version.
You didn’t come this far to just get this far // You didn’t shoot for the moon just to hit the stars
Probably my favorite on the You Can’t Kill Us album. Ariel’s vocals in this song are absolutely awesome. The melody and lyrical style in this song is a little more reminiscent of older Icon for Hire stuff, and is what made me fall in love with them in the first place. Their rock heavy sound with rap and electronic fusion is unmatched.
I’m a gøner // Somebody catch my breath
Huge congrats to these guys on their Grammy nominations! If a had to choose a favorite on Blurryface, this would be it. Beautifully haunting lyrics, though they may be simple, with such an explosive and emotional ending. This song really ends the album perfectly.
It’s been a long year. On this last day, I’m going to be putting some tributes to some of the great talents that we lost this year.
Because this is a music blog, I will only be posting about musicians, but my thoughts and prayers are with the families of Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, Harper Lee, Alan Rickman, Jose Fernandez, Chyna, Gene Wilder and all of the other greats we lost this year.
I gave you my heart and soul // Thought I was chasing love // I was only chasing a ghost
Have recently become obsessed with this song. I like the songwriting style of the song. She manages to give pretty personal and specific scenarios, for example the prechorus lines about what she was wearing when they met, while still making a very honest and relatable song.
