Brady the AOC Dem

Here because Twitter is going down. Kind of a politico 🤷‍♂️ Measure 110’s strongest soldier, don’t care how many people think I’m crazy, I will not back down from my stance that drug possession should not land you in jail. Mostly photography, politics, geography, etc.

You are not a “wage slave”, you’re a middle class white collar worker with a phone, a car, and a home who isn’t anywhere close to being a slave.

I do think that some forms of wage labor are very close to slavery of course and that even the ones that aren’t close to slavery can involve exploitation, but no, simply being paid a wage is not slavery, especially if you’re a white collar worker with a middle class lifestyle that actual slaves would love to have.

Not everything has to be slavery for it to be bad, fyi.

Hot take: It is prejudice and bigoted to ask random Palestinians/Arabs/Muslims if they condemn Hamas just as it is prejudiced and bigoted to ask random Jews and Israelis if they condemn Netanyahu or Israeli war crimes.

Ok maybe not a hot take in reality, but anything nuanced is a hot take online these days.

There are two types of recent foreign policy paradigm shifters.

The first is someone who always supported the CIA and the US in general until Biden got in and our main enemy was Putin and they also hate that Biden supports Lula.

The second is someone who was anti America until Putin came in and Russia adopted capitalism and the US started looking more progressive to the left. They love that Biden supports Lula.

I have seen both of these types. Older leftists who opposed sending aid to Bosnia against Milosevic but now admit they were wrong and fully support Ukraine. Older reactionaries who wanted to bomb the hell of Vietnam but now think US imperialism is an issue and love Putin.

I would absolutely support letting Venezuela get CITGO back and letting them sell oil to the US in exchange for them recognizing Guyana’s territorial integrity. But that would require officially declaring that we think avoiding war is more important than appeasing single issue anti-“socialism” voters in Florida. And hey, get gas prices down and counter the Saudis. If we can get Venezuela to agree to a free and fair, internationally monitored election while also getting them to reverse chauvinistic claims over Guyana’s territory, and also get gas prices down and counter the influence of the House of Saud, win-win-win. Biden just needs to recognize that there are far more single issue gas price voters and that avoiding war in our hemisphere appeals to far more voters all across the country than single issue anti-“socialism” voters mostly in Florida exclusively.

All the podcast bros and right wing TikTok chuds who say “men used to go to war back when men were manly men!” forget that a lack of war killing off a lot of the men is the only reason they have a shitty podcast. They think they would be the brass but they would have been cannon fodder. If they were brass material, they would have already been officers.

I’m really hoping Maduro doesn’t invade Guyana. Let’s hope he sees getting oil on the global market and getting better relations with the nearest superpower as more important.

“AOC took money from AIPAC”

Literally no evidence. OpenSecrets/FEC data have no record of her receiving money from AIPAC. She hasn’t even received money from J Street. She also has been pro ceasefire.

Just because she’s not your preferred type of ideology doesn’t mean she took money from AIPAC

My ideal government is one where the two main coalitions are left wing social democrats/democratic socialists and center to center left social liberals. The further left and center right are both small and the far right is nonexistent

Pierre Omidyar is Peter Thiel for people who like abortion but will sacrifice it for money

Omidyar is funding Project 2025 and then I realized he’s the one who financed The Intercept. Might explain why The Intercept hasn’t covered it… They have lost all credibility now. I thought they had cleared house when Greenwald left, but the problem there is bigger than Greenwald. I just hope Klippenstein can get out of there and maybe take his talents somewhere else.

The misogyny on TikTok seems to be getting more prominent, from both men and women. Like idk gender essentialism seems to be increasing among younger people and I felt like we were trying to move away from that like 5 years ago even when I was in high school. But now all the podcast bros are becoming a thing and then they’ll always have that one pick me girl on their podcast who validates internalized misogyny. Make it stop!

Lol some Stalin worshipper just called me a “petit bourgeois revisionist” because I thought Stalin banning abortion was a step backward, especially considering that Lenin had legalized it. Keep in mind that I work in retail and make barely above minimum wage and plenty of working class women get abortions, but yeah, according to him, I’m “petit bourgeois”.

The one argument I don’t understand from some “police abolitionists” is being particularly against the professionalization of policing. Like, your issue seems to be that policing was okay until it was professionalized? So you think that a volunteer constable aka a local despot or a bunch of vigilantes/sheriff’s posse was somehow good? That’s like the dumbest argument I’ve heard.

I just saw a “Stand with Ukraine” sticker on a pickup truck. I wonder if the guy is a “moderate centrist” who was a GOP voter but now is a Lincoln Project type? It wasn’t a lifted pickup tbh lol
