Thorki Headcanons/Prompts: Black Swan!AU

Rising dance ingenue Loki Laufeyson is appointed as the new principal performer in his independent yet highly prestigious dance company and is cast in the lead role of a radical, genderbent, modern dance version of Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake".

Loki is the considered as the most skilled dancer in the company; his graceful, sinuous lines and precise technique in mastering choreography make him the perfect choice to portray Oriel, the Swan King. However, he lacks the dark, intense, passionate, and aggressively sensual qualities necessary to portray his evil twin, Odilo, the Black Swan.

Enter Thor Odinson, a new member of the dance troupe who--while not as perfect in his dancing skills as Loki--naturally embodies all the deeply erotic and sexual qualities needed to correctly portray the Black Swan.

Cue the drama via a supporting cast of characters that include Loki's demanding and controlling stage father and former dancer, Laufey Jarsson; a sexually manipulative and perfectionist director of the dance company, Tony Stark; a jealous and emotionally unstable former principal dancer, Bucky Barnes; competitive relationships with fellow dancers in the company like Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, Clint Barton, and the Maximoff twins, Wanda and Pietro; and of course, Thor, and his highly-charged physical attraction and sexual tension to Loki, which the raven-haired dancer feels extreme conflict in reciprocating as he believes that Thor is trying to steal the lead role from the "Swan Lake" production away from him.

And oh, let's not forget Loki's slowly spiraling descent into madness as he deals with the pressures of perfecting the role of both the White and Black Swan that manifests itself in disturbing body horror moments and other strange hallucinations throughout the course of grueling weeks of rehearsals and culminating into a shocking finale on opening night.
