“what are you doing?”

you immediately dropped the sweatshirt you were holding and spun towards its owner, plastering what you hoped looked like an innocent smile on your face. 

kazuha thought it looked entirely guilty. 

“nothing,” you said, clasping your hands behind your back. 

kazuha raised his eyebrows and peered at the sweatshirt abandoned on the floor behind you. 

“nothing?” he asked, incredulous. you shifted to stand directly in front of the sweatshirt and nodded, a little too eagerly for it to be convincing. 

“nothing at all,” you confirmed. 

“i don’t think stealing my sweatshirt is a whole lot of nothing,” kazuha said, side stepping you to pick it up. gently, he folded the sweatshirt and placed it back in an open drawer—

you mentally kicked yourself. you forgot to close it.

“okay, okay,” you said, holding your hands up in admittance. “it just looked so comfortable…” 

you trailed off. kazuha turned back to you, and with a gentle smile, replied, “yes, i know it is. but you have your own.”

“but i want yours,” you said, almost whining. 

“give me one good reason why you want mine over yours,” kazuha challenged.

“your sweatshirt is soft and comfortable and oversized—”

“so are yours—”

“and yours smell like you,” you finished. kazuha opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again. you sighed, figuring kazuha was just trying to find the right words to deny you again, and continued, “it’s fine though. i don’t need it.”

you thought that was the end of it. the conversation was certainly over at that point, and you thought you might never wear his sweatshirt. maybe kazuha just didn’t want you touching his stuff, much less his clothes. 

but when you came home after waving kazuha off on another voyage with the crux and found his sweatshirt, laid out for you on the kitchen table, you realized that maybe he did want you to wear it after all. 

xiao.

xiao always appeared right after you called his name, and this time was no different. 

“what?” he demanded, a little impatient. “i just left. what could you possibly want now?”

a little taken aback at his harsh tone, you hesitated, and said, “you… you forgot this.” you gestured to the sweatshirt in your arms, large and oversized.

xiao’s eyes widened by a fraction before they narrowed. curiously, you might have thought he was pouting. but that wouldn’t make sense. you thought that maybe he was just annoyed he forgot it in the first place? you wondered if you were wrong to summon him for such a slight mistake. 

xiao snatched the sweatshirt from you, and without another word, he was gone. 

after your next date, xiao forgot his sweatshirt… again. this time, as to not bother xiao by summoning him again over such a trivial matter, you returned it to him the following day. but still that unhappy pout, and you were quite sure it was a pout now, persisted. 

you couldn’t for the life of you figure out why. 

on the third time it happened, xiao looked even more annoyed and… was that disappointment?

“are you not relieved? to have it back?” you asked. 

xiao didn’t say anything, and you thought he wasn’t going to respond, before he replied, “no. i am not.”

“what? why? i haven’t worn it or—“

“that’s the problem,” he said, cutting you off. feeling a little bold, and feeling like he should have done this in the first place, xiao gently placed the sweatshirt over your very confused head. “don’t make me spell it out for you, [you]. just… wear it. please.”

you pulled your arms through the sleeves and poked your head out from the top. you still looked a little perplexed, but nodded all the same. “okay… sure, i will. thanks.”

it was only then that xiao at last felt relief. you were finally wearing his sweatshirt. 

he just hoped you wouldn’t return it next time he saw you. 

al haitham.

al haitham was intelligent. he was so incredibly intelligent that it took you by surprise on numberous occasions. 

but right now, you could only think that he was possibly, just a little, kind of, maybe… dumb. well, maybe that wasn’t the right word for it. if your vocabulary was nearly half as large as his, you might have a better word to describe it. perphaps ignorant was better? or maybe dense?

whatever it was, al haitham just… wasn’t getting it. you asked for his sweatshirt and he, for all his intelligence, didn’t seem to understand why. 

when he asked you as much, you responded, “because… it’s cold?”

a flimsy excuse, and you both knew it. during the middle of the day, the sumeru desert was anything but. 

“it’s not—“

“i know, i know,” you said, cutting him off. you were growing frustrated now. your previous explanations of the sweatshirt being comfortable and perfectly oversized didn’t cut it, either. 

honestly, this was all so unnecessary. couldn’t al haitham, who knew you had a crush on him and felt a begruding affection for you in return, just give you his sweatshirt?

“i really don’t see a reason why you need to wear my sweatshirt,” al haitham stated. 

“maybe because i like you and it’s just something cute? like what couples do?”

you wanted to take back the words as soon as they left your mouth. you hadn’t wanted to officially confess your feelings to al haitham, but unfortunately for you, you did just that. 

“i didn’t realize we were a couple.” al haitham grinned, smug and knowing. it was then that you realized you might have underestimated him. 

he was smart enough to know why you asked him for his sweatshirt, and even more so to understand he was expected to give it to you. but why not have a little fun with it? and he even managed to get a confession out of you along the way. 

you sighed, both resenting and admiring that wicked mind of his. “you… i can’t believe— whatever. we’ll talk about thatlater, but… can i still have the sweatshirt?”

al haitham, done with his scheme, nodded. the sweatshirt was just as comfortable and warm as you imagained, perfect for cool desert nights. 

you had his sweatshirt. but more importantly, you had al haitham and his heart, both wrapped around your little finger.

After being unwillingly transported into Genshin Impact, you bumped into someone who... looks exactly just like you??

There's a brief moment of shock (and anger because your doppelgänger was the shoot first ask questions later type of person) before you two decided to settle down to answer each other's questions.

The two of you didn't like the answers though.

"... so in your world, Tevyat and everyone in it is part of a game." Your doppelgänger summarised, "But here in Tevyat, you're known as the adored and worshipped Creator who ascends above Celestia."

"But I don't want to be this 'Creator' person." You pointed out, "And it seems unfair to appear out of nowhere and steal your life from you since you're the-"

"A puppet? An imposter?" Your doppelgänger scoffed, "It's literally in my job description, pretend to be you until you return."

"Hey, you have your life and relationships here and I got ripped away from mine." You snapped back, "And I was going to say that since you're known as the all-powerful Creator, can't you send me back home?"

"... about that..."

Long story short, you're stuck in Tevyat for an indefinite amount of time.

The train of bad news got longer when your doppelgänger decided to fill you in on how much the Creator of Tevyat was... worshipped and adored.

To sum it up, you're stuck in a world where you bearing the face and name of the Creator is an instant execution.

"... how in the absolute fuck did you gain a harem of yanderes." You whispered, horrified and terrified for your life.

Your doppelgänger merely shrugged in response, not quite understanding half of what you were saying but it sounded relatable enough after recounting some memorable details of their faithful acolytes.

But seriously? Making the Creator's name a taboo to be used for children; having shrines, statues, and festivals held by the Archons dedicated to the Creator; the stalkerish worship and overprotectiveness of every. single. acolyte. to the point your doppelgänger resorted to running away for a breather.

It's a literal hell on earth for an introvert like you.

"I will die when they assume I'm your imposter." You announced, finally gathering your thoughts together, "But you will die if they find out you're the imposter."

Your doppelgänger nodded, a look of dread on their face that you can't bear to look at.

"... but, that is only if they find out the truth." You started, forming an idea that sounded so impossible, so outlandish, that it might actually work if you guys think it through.

Your doppelgänger flinched at the maniac stare you sent to them, "How well do you know about the history of the two Electro Archons?"

And thus, the body double story was created by two desperate individuals.

Your doppelgänger had created you, their body double/twin, in both image and name to split the work of the Creator as they were growing tired and numb after centuries.

You would travel around Tevyat secretly to help your doppelgänger in international relations while hiding the true reason: to find your way home. Your doppelgänger, on the other hand, will have more time for their adoring harem and have the opportunity to relax and have fun.

Safe to say, the adoring acolytes fell for the story after your doppelgänger mentioned 'more free time with them'.

"Oh dear Creator, you could've told us of your burdens instead of resorting to this." While you appreciated not being objectified, you preferred being alive more as Zhongli glared holes into your back.

Your doppelgänger gave him a shy smile, "I wouldn't wish to burden you like this, Zhongli, you deserve your retirement. Plus, having my sibling around would be more fun." They chirped.

Someone in the background choked.

If possible, Ei's eyebrows rose higher, "Your... sibling?"

Your doppelgänger -god you need a name for them- nodded excitedly, causing a few coos from the weaker acolytes at their adorableness, "My sibling! I created them from my flesh and blood so they're like my twin in some sense, isn't that right dear sibling~"

You flashed them a smile and a thumbs-up, pretending that the suspicious glares aimed at you were pratically non-existence while wondering when can you escape this place to travel this brand new world you're in.

ZHONGLI, as if he knew by instinct, would hold your hand, caress them for a little while with his thumb and gently raise them on his level, kissing the back of your hand gently, almost as light as a feather. His lips would always find themselves naturally drawn to you, and as well as his way of showing his love and care for you in the simplest of ways.

XIAO would be concerned. “Are you cold?” The poor boy would be so worried; brows furrowed and thoughts struggling to come up with something, especially with how he still thinks about just merely touching you would taint you of any kind of his sin but he has to touch you to make your hands warm up with his own. “How about now?” And now, you struggle to tell him that it was just something you thought of doing just to see his reaction and could not help but to reply “I’m okay now, thanks to you,” because not only did he gave warmth to your hands but more so to your heart.

kazuha

he is the embodiment of comfort and gentleness, so naturally the seelie is drawn to him.

when you show it to him for the first time, kazuha greets the seelie with a “hello there, little friend. i hope you’ll be joining our travels too” while he pets it gently, the creature’s antennae perking up, making you chuckle at how adorable the scene is.

the seelie gets really happy (that is, flies in circles around kazuha) every time he plays it a tune on his leaf, or when he recites poetry, a smile gracing your boyfriend’s features, small giggles escaping him when your new little friend nuzzles against kazuha’s cheek.

when you two kiss, the seelie pretends to hide out of sight, but kazuha’s sharp sense of hearing always allows him to detect its location. when you find out, you scold it with no malice. “no peeking!” you say, petting it playfully. needless to say, the naughty creature peeks anyway, perking up at the displays of affection between the two people it’s grown attached to.

xiao

he is confused at first. xiao doesn’t understand what is it with this small glowing creature and its fascination with him.

the seelie follows him everywhere, even when he keeps liyue safe from demons at night, trying to help him by making noises to warn him when enemies are near.

in turn, xiao is very caring and protective of your seelie, telling it to “hide now and stay out of the way” while he pets it awkwardly every time the small creature follows him into battle.

when you are affectionate with xiao, in precious instants when he can relax, his head in your lap while you stroke his hair, the seelie just curls up on top of his chest, moving its antennae in a signal for xiao to pet it. and you never fail to notice the slight relaxed smile on xiao’s face in every one of these moments.

heizou

a charmer as he is, even your new seelie is enchanted by him.

you’re a little jealous, how your small friend seems to like your boyfriend more than it likes you.

wherever heizou runs of to solve a case, your seelie follows, and, in occasions, it even helps to guide him with its glow when night falls, allowing heizou to not miss any clues in the late hours.

sometimes, when you and heizou have to be apart for the day, each of you attending different duties, you will see your seelie flying to you carrying something attached to it: trinkets and small gifts your boyfriend sends when he’s away. sometimes they are flowers, sometimes cheesy notes he writes you, but no matter what, you treasure all of them.

venti

your seelie and your boyfriend are practically best friends at this point.

when you brought the seelie with you to meet venti, it instantly started fluttering happily around him, resting atop his hat, eliciting sweet giggles from the bard.

amused at the way the little seelie acted, venti started playing a song on his lyre, the melody causing for the small creature to sway lightly on top of his head.

when venti uses his anemo abilities to climb trees and pick the sweetest apples, your seelie always follows him, getting all happy when venti tells it how you’ll make the most delicious apple pie ever with the fruits.

aether

the prince of the abyss knows that you love to travel and explore the world of teyvat, so really, who is he to keep you when you kiss him goodbye so gently? he thinks. he loves the smile on your face when you come back and tell him all about your adventures and the trinkets you collected.

so when you return one day, with a small creature floating around you, he is curious. how and where did you get it? aether listens intently while you rely the story to him, his head in your lap while you comb through his golden locks.

your seelie quickly takes a liking to the abyss prince, fluttering all around him and nuzzling against his face every time you set out on one of your adventures.

once, you collected different types of flowers around sumeru to show them to aether, and when he started threading them together in a small circlet he placed on the seelie, it was the most adorable sight: your boyfriend’s cheeks tinted in the pink of sunsets and your new little companion fluttering its antennae happily, coming to sit on top of your head, making you giggle.

albedo

instantly wants to study the seelie and will ask you lots of questions about it, what are its origins, does it have elemental powers, how does it move…

you have to stop him from experimenting with it. kiss him on the lips, he will blush and be rendered speechless, with your seelie flying around him, before sidling up to his heated cheeks.

in the cold of dragonspine, the small creature’s glow emits some heat, so you and albedo like to hold it together, warming your fingers and your hearts at the happy noises it makes.

your seelie definitely takes a liking to klee! whenever she goes to bury her treasures or fish-blasting, your bright flying new friend always wants to go with her.

tighnari

interested in studying it, but because he struggles with everyone wanting to pet his ears, the seelie is now protected by him and he takes great care of it.

while he is working in preparing medicine, your seelie likes to just bury itself in between his ears, peacefully resting there. and tighnari lets it, because you and your seelie are the only ones allowed to touch his ears.

when he has free time, tighnari likes to make bookmarks with pressed leaves for you, which your seelie delivers in days he knows he will be home late.

when tighnari goes to gather herbs, the seelie always wants to come by, and it has a talent for locating pretty flowers to bring back to you.

gorou

super excited to meet your seelie, you can see his ears perking up and his tail wagging, eyes wide and practically sparkling.

takes care of your seelie as if it was his own child, because as the general from the resistance, he was a duty to protect it and you, as he says.

lets the seelie cuddle in his tail. it’s soft and the small creature’s antennae perk up in glee every time he allows it to lay there.

whenever he writes advice as miss hina, gorou asks the seelie what does it think if you’re not around to give your opinion, and he always asks “do you think [name] would think this letter is good?” to which the seelie responds in its own way, fluttering around, antennae twitching in content.

when you go through anxiety episodes, kazuha would be just like an oasis in the middle of the desert. he has this calming aura, like tranquil waves and a gentle breeze flow around the space close to him.

and when your thoughts are too loud, too jumbled and messy, reality’s lines blurring, your mind not being able to register what you actually did or if you imagined it, kazuha is your anchor.

when you feel like you’re floating adrift, to the currents of spiralling thoughts, kazuha’s warm embrace pulls you out of the dark; his touch, his warmth, his scent, taking you back to a reality with him, to the place where you know everything will be okay; the kisses he leaves in your hair as his hands trace patterns on your back proof he’s got you, that none of those thoughts of doom racing your mind are to become a reality.

and in that moment you know as long as he is with you and you find your way to him, everything will be okay and you will be safe.
