This is why queer theology is so important. You gotta break down the massive amount of BS somehow. Doing it by being unabashedly gay with your theology to me is the best way to respect and dunk on your tradition at the same time.

Lots of religious gay people like me like our culture and tradition, and even some of the theology and philosophy, but can't stand the corruption, discrimination, and hierarchy. I think being a disabled trans Catholic communist personally.

So yeah, I wear my trans flag arm warmers to church. I wear my skirt and choker too. God is gay and Jesus is black motherfuckers.

It is not brave or edgy. I consider it a baseline moral duty to make fun of the Catholic Church.

Sometimes I really wish my holy water would burn me during prayer because it would be so fucking affirming as a religious demonkin.

But nooooo instead it just feels wet and cold and makes me kinda sad, just like my own native catholic religion does sometimes lmao
