I'm giving this advice to a friend of mine cause she could definitely use it.

“Touching grass” is normally used pejoratively, but I think it’s actually good advice.

Some people get so wrapped in their anger and cruelty, that they spend all their time online in an echo chamber getting angrier and crueler. They’re so miserable that they will try to drag everyone down to their level.

Percy saw this anger and cruelty and chose to “touch grass.” Some are so chronically online and have so much brainrot, that if someone doesn’t subject themselves to misguided online hate that they don't deserve in the first place then they see it as some sort of cowardice.

While people were spewing the same willful, hateful ignorance for going on over a year, Percy was instead:

Traveling with friends. He got to see the sights and beauty of Hawaii, LA, Newfoundland, Washington DC, the Grand Canyon, and even got to see a once in a lifetime event called the Aurora Borealis.

He was invited to tv premiers, Oscar parties, and probably collected so much swag that he has to pay taxes on it.

He attended parties and concerts with his friends.

He wasn’t just having fun and games, he was still working. (Has to pay for all that travel somehow lol) He attended a con, recorded songs, did a podcast, filmed a full feature movie, and a short movie. There could also be other things in the works we don’t know about yet, I’m excited to find out.

He walked a red carpet at Sundance, where his film was met with a standing ovation and great reviews.

He did...whatever this is. LOL

There were some dark times for Percy and it was hard, I have no doubt about that, but he didn’t let it stop him from enjoying life (real life) or deter him from his passion of acting.

While they were leaving hate comments on Insta, he was living a life worth putting on Insta.

He did more and lived more in this one year than any of his haters will in their lifetime. That’s why they’re constantly online with their anger and cruelty, it’s all they have.

We don’t need to feel sorry for Percy or be angry on his behalf. Yes, he had a loss, but it was one loss amongst so many wins.

I look forward to all he has ahead of him.
