My name is Shaina Tranquilino, and I wear many hats in my life. By day, I work as a full-time special needs educational assistant, but on the side, I also work as a doula, work as a casual sales associate at a retail shop, and I delve into the world of energy healing as a Reiki Master.

Through my Etsy Shop called Flower Therapy Healer, I offer distant energy healing to people from all walks of life around the globe. It is my mission to spread love and light in every corner of the world through this beautiful practice. The ability to help others heal and find solace brings immense joy to my heart.

Education plays a significant role in my life; thus, sharing knowledge and educating others is something I hold dear. Throughout the course of this week, we will focus on one chakra per day – starting from the foundational root chakra and culminating in the ethereal crown chakra. Each meditation session will provide a unique opportunity to connect with your inner self and harness the immense power residing within you.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel" or "disk." Within our bodies, there are believed to be seven main chakras that form a part of our energetic system. These spinning wheels of energy are said to be responsible for our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Each chakra corresponds to specific organs, emotions, colours, sounds, elements, and even life lessons. They are interconnected and influence one another's functioning. When all chakras are in balance and open, energy flows freely throughout our body, promoting harmony and vitality. However, if they become blocked or imbalanced, we may experience various physical or emotional ailments.

Let's explore the seven chakras individually:

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara): Located at the base of the spine, it represents our foundation and connection to the Earth. This chakra governs feelings of safety, security, stability, and survival instincts.

2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Positioned just below the navel area, it relates to pleasure, creativity, sexuality, and emotional balance. This chakra encourages us to embrace joy and passion in life.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Situated in the upper abdomen region near the diaphragm area, this chakra influences self-esteem, personal power, confidence, motivation, and willpower.

Today, we'll explore the fifth chakra, known as the throat chakra or Vishuddha in Sanskrit. Positioned at the centre of our neck, this energetic vortex governs communication, expression, and authenticity. If you find yourself struggling with self-expression, speaking your truth, or even feeling creatively stifled, it may be time to focus on nurturing and harmonizing your throat chakra through meditation.

The Importance of a Balanced Throat Chakra:

A balanced throat chakra allows us to confidently express ourselves with clarity and integrity. It facilitates effective communication both in verbal and non-verbal forms, fostering healthy relationships and enhancing our ability to listen actively. When imbalanced, however, it can manifest as difficulty expressing emotions, fear of public speaking, chronic sore throats or voice issues, creative blocks, or an excessive need for validation from others.
