This is so stupid and how Columbus, Ohio recently had a massive outbreak of measles. MEASLES!!! I've heard people of all ages tell me that the measles doesn't exist and getting the vaccine is just big pharma trying to put weird stuff in you. But here we are! With a modern day measles outbreak.
A friend of mine who lives a couple cities away recently had to go to the hospital. The first questions they asked her? Have you been to Columbus in the last week. Measles officially beat Corona in protocol questions.
We need to get rid of the mentality that diseases don't exist any more and you're a "snowflake" if you have to take a sick day. Working yourself to death- especially while sick, doesn't make you stronger it takes you longer to recover and puts you and others in more danger. We have to change this and fast.
It’s interesting how diseases rip through schools at incredible speeds despite being in an arguably modern, clean(ish) environment. I wonder if it has something to do with the whole “you need a doctor’s note to excuse your absence of even one day” combined with the average price of going to a doctor, the lack of education on things like “you’re still contagious even after the fever goes away”, and the overwhelming message of “if you don’t struggle through it, you’re a failure!”

Just to be clear this account is pro Palestine and me personally I feel like I could do more to support educating people on what's going on not only in Palestine but also in Congo and the Sudan. Now another thing is that I live in America so I will also be talking about what's going on here in Congress and the House and how it ties into what is going on over seas.
Fucking SCOTUS is at it again. Oh my God I'm gonna scream. These judges that wipe their asses with the US Constitution have decided not to review a law that penalizes the BDS movement. For those of yall who don't know SCOTUS is an acronym for the Supreme Court of the United States. The same group of people who overturned Roe v Wade.
This is starting to pop up all over the US. There is a law in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and several others are gonna pop up when you search for "anti - bds laws" or " america bans BDS boycott " and here's the crazy part: this has been happening all year. Some websites talking about certain states are from February. FUCKING FEBRUARY!!!! OF 2023!!!!
I can't be the only one who just heard about this so I wanted to tell whoever sees this. I am honestly stunned that this is happening but then again, no I'm not. It's the information that you find out about after the fact that's really damning.
Please get curious about what's happening in the world. Educate yourself on what's going on so you can know the truth. Ask questions and get answers. If you are silent or neutral when obviously bad things are happening, you are part of the problem.

It's funny just how powerful a few words are.
In real life social situations, I'm able to get away with silence. Just being with a group, whether I talk much or not, begins to open them up to me somehow. I've always sort of used that to my advantage (being shy and all), and strangely enough, it's served me well - I have a few lifelong friends just from existing in a location near these people. It's also helped me feel like I'm part of the group I'm with, that they know I'm part of them too.
On the Internet, that don't fly. If you want to be noticed, you have to speak up. And for the longest time, I never got the memo.
When I started out here on the web, I spoke briefly and went back to lurking. I thought people would notice my presence the "normal" way; that if I hung out long enough, I would be accepted more. But I didn't say enough, and even when I did, I never truly felt like I was part of the discussion. As a result, I've been pretty invisible.
Just recently I figured it out - if I don't say anything, how will people notice me? They won't. On the internet, you are displayed when you post something; if you don't post, you don't show up, simple as that. When I learned that, it hit me pretty hard, but then I realized just how obvious that should have been.
And then, just yesterday, I realized how easy it is to say something: just reply to other people. Original content can be hard/time-consuming (look how many posts I've made! hurr durr), but with a reply, the conversation is already started! And it's not hard in the slightest - I've always been one for situational conversation, just letting it flow while I comment here and there.
Not only am I putting myself out there, but more importantly, I'm also spreading joy. I always get super excited when someone replies to my tweets/posts/etc., so why not do that for other people? I'm happy, they're happy... it makes perfect sense!
I'm just surprised it took me this long to figure out.

Can we get rid of the notion that "one post isnt gonna do much" or "my platform isnt big enough anyway" when it comes to sharing what's going on in Gaza?
Israel has been in control of the narrative for years. And with the rise social media platforms, they are depending on you and me thinking "my voice doesnt mean anything anyway". They want us to give up.
At this point if you havent shared anything about it, even though you're an active member on a social media platform, you are giving israel exactly what they want. They want the world to forget or ignore what they're doing.
Of course you're still allowed to make fandom posts, post aesthetic pictures, talk about personal anecdotes or interests. But if you are active in doing the above while still maintaining silent on what's happening in Gaza after a whole ass month,,,you are essentially silencing the Gazan voice in a way you maybe hadn't considered:
Because by being an active member (posting unrelated things) yet still remaining silent on a humanitarian crisis, you're essentially normalising disinvolvement in a humanitarian crisis.
Remember, israel is counting on the world to forget/ignore what's happening. Your silence only helps them.
