I have been trying to enjoying klaus fics or any tvdu fics on wattpad but every thing I have read so far doenst show the characters accurately which is very annoying

I was hoping and want to request if you could give me some recommendations on fics on wattpad that are good. (Mainly klaus but any love interest would be good)

Don't worry, you're not sounding rude at all, if anything you actually sound really sweet. I'm glad we share some opinions and I'm really honored you came to me for some suggestions.

I haven't read long fanfictions in a while outside works in ao3, I left Wattpad a few time ago but I'll still try my best, tho I'm not very good at giving summaries. Fair warning these are mainly fanfics I've read in Archive of Our Own, not Wattpad, but I hope it's not a problem. If it annoys you, send me an ask and I'll give you some Wattpad recommendations!

Summary:

I think we've all read those kind of tvdu fanfics where the main character is a teenager, usually related to the Gilbert or the Forbes, still in high school and who suddenly stops trying to make a life for herself just because she gets dragged into the supernatural world. Well, Patisserie is the opposite of that. For once, the main character isn't a teen but an adult around her twenties, who works at a bakery and is completely unaware of the supernatural world until Klaus decides to change that.

The slow burn is is truly worthy of a chef's kiss, the way the author describes and writes the Mikaelson is just so on point it hurts. Their family dynamic is so entertaining to watch, but it's as fucked up as it is in the show, which it's something not many authors can accomplish. The way they behave around the main character, a simple human, it's so amusing because they truly know nothing despite their age and she's just so easy to relate to, because for once the oc is not ridiculously overpowered.

The way we perceive the Mikaelson and the vampire world from a human pov is truly interesting, how she copes with all of it and eventually learns to love all of them individually while being aware of the danger is so well done. Kol and her, as well as her relationship with Klaus, are particularly interesting to read, especially considering how they all behaved around her at the beginning and especially because both of them are the most dangerous members of their family. They are all selfish creatures, and I love how it shows the more their relationships with her develop.

Summary;

You know those fanfics who fix (almost) everything problematic in canon? Apotheosis does exactly that. In this story, Klaus isn't a complete irredeemable character for once, but he also isn't half as bad as his canon version, and due to the oc being a werewolf, this fanfic does expand on his werewolf side a little more than The Vampire Diaries or The Originals ever did. His family and him actually have a healthy bond, and Finn gets the recognition he deserves for once.

The story is set in season three of TVD, exactly when Klaus and Stefan are trying to make hybrids for his pack, and in a ironic plot twist, Klaus decides to take you with him when you're still a werewolf after you say you're not worthy to be a hybrid, at least not yet.

Her devotion to him is completely endearing and I absolutely love how Klaus actually cares for his pack, especially because they're all canonical characters who were killed way too quickly. Her relationships with the members of their pack are so well written, and this fanfic it's the perfect mix of humour and seriousness. It has a ongoing sequel, which I just adore. I warn you though, all the characters have several differences from their canon versions.

Twisted Obsession (fanfiction.net, Klaus x original female character) by rocket-queen98;

Summary;

Lola is one of the most adorable mc I've read. She is human and around nineteen, if I remember correctly, and just a sweet girl and adorable. She's introduced into the supernatural world thanks to baby Hope, who is just the cutest, due to her needing a mother figure now that Hayley wasn't present in her life thanks to the curse placed on her.

Her relationship with Hope is my favorite part of the whole fanfic. She doesn't suddenly turn into her mother, she doesn't intend to either, but rather becomes her best friend and Klaus and her develop a bond thanks to this. The way father and daughter interact is so heartwarming too, the subtle hints of them being werewolves, and seeing a main character having a good relationship with her father for once is a good turn, especially in tvd fanfics.

It's clear Klaus and Lola have something going on, even if they won't admit out loud, but for some reason the people around them give the impression they don't actually want them to date. There is implications something more fucked up than usual is going on with Klaus and his relationships, and I'm pretty sure him and Cami were a thing in this fic too. Surprisingly, Hayley and Cami aren't turned into absolute bitches, but there is Jackson bashing though.

The Girl in the Forest (fanfiction.net, Klaus x original female character) by noblecrescent;

In one of her lives, she met Klaus and they fell in love, but she died, if I'm not wrong, and they end up meeting again in New Orleans time later where he has a child on the way and a kingdom to conquer.

I can't remember a lot more without giving you spoilers, but it's worth checking it out!

I just could not not recommend this fanfic. Mia comes to Mystic Falls to seek revenge after Damon kills her best friend Lexi, but she of course gets dragged by the problems in that little town.

The thing I like the most about Via's story is how there is no cliché: no bashing towards Tyler or Elena, Mia actually befriends them, Bonnie gets the recognition and love she deserves, Klaus doesn't suddenly turn into a different person just because he loves the oc, he continues to be a piece of shit, and how sweet and empathetic she is, not like those reused badass mc who are just rude.

I would recommend some more, but it's kinda hard to find fanfics with a good Klaus depiction. I'm pretty sure I left out a lot of amazing fanfics, though.

When you find your mother you nearly rip yourself apart to end her

You knew the moment the barrier came down in your head that you were working against the clock. The surge in magic from you would alert the old hag that your memories were back, she'd know you were coming and she'd know it wouldn't simply end with one of you scarred this time. A death would be the only thing to end this, and one gruesome enough to ensure no chance of resurrection.

You spared a glance around the hotel room you'd been staying in. You needed to grab anything worthwhile out of it but it occurred to you nothing there mattered. The clothes were those you'd brought just to have some on your back. Every material possession that mattered still lay within your shared room with Klaus.

Your heart ached when you thought of his smile. The way so many viewed him as nothing shy of evil yet he was so gentle with Hope, with you. The memory of his laughter when Hope had covered you and Hayley both with bright pink icing at her first birthday. 

You'd never meant to fall for the hybrid. Your goal when you first came to New Orleans was to be by Hayley's side for the pregnancy and birth then to ensure that a deep enough line in the sand was drawn to make anyone think twice of letting a threat towards Hope fall from their lips but your traitorous heart had other plans. He'd proven to be such a different person at his core then you'd originally thought him to be.

The Mikaelsons in general were an anomaly to you. They fought each other, daggered each other and claimed to hate each other at moments but the only thing fiercer than the Mikaelsons fighting against each other was when they were fighting for each other.  That's how you knew they would be with your loss. They'd survived worse.Each member of the ancient family held a place in your heart and you hoped they knew it.  

Your mother wouldn't win this fight no matter what it cost you. If mutual destruction was the only way to ensure she never crossed paths with those you loved then so be. You could make peace with it knowing you'd taken at least one threat down with you.

You shut the door to the hotel room and walked towards the stairs. You didn't have time to wait for the elevator. There were normal humans here, on this floor alone you counted three families, two couples and a few guys on one last road trip before they graduated college. You needed to put distance between you and any collateral damage.

You made it to the first floor of the hotel and headed for the door. The moment you stepped into the cool night air you felt the stir of another's magic brush against yours but this was no witch native to New Orleans. Marcel had made the introductions himself between you and local covens to make sure there were no “misunderstandings” as he called it.  

No, this magic felt familiar. Yours answered the call, flaring with long buried anger from abuse at the hands that waited at the other end of this call. “Come and get me bitch” you muttered under your breath heading for the cemetery you'd picked for this confrontation. You refused to let her have the say so as to where you fought this time.

She'd ambushed you and Elijah like the coward she was but this time you were ready. No siphoner was in the state of Louisiana. Without that added advantage she couldn't take you one on one and win. You were a lot older than when you'd given her that scar. This time you wouldn't miss. 

“There's one cemetery we haven't checked. Where Hope was almost killed the day she was born. Klaus, her power draws strength from her emotions the memory of the anger she felt that day would be enough to wipe out a coven”  Hayley was home with Hope considering everyone she'd be safe with was trying to find you but that didn't stop her from helping the search. Klaus relayed the idea to his siblings then started to hang up but Hayley called his name “Yes?” “Don't let our daughter lose anyone tonight. Promise me” “I promise. Come morning her entire family will be together to greet her”

He hung up and turned his attention to the matter at hand. The air hung heavier the closer they got to the cemetery in question. Magic was at use, something he at one time would've avoided. The closer he got to the cemetery in question he could feel what magic was yours, it felt familiar. As familiar as your lips brushing against his or a whisper of your voice in his ear. What he at one time despised now was a comfort. You were alive and from the feel of it putting up one hell of a fight to stay that way. 

You groaned as you shoved yourself to your feet. How the hell was she this strong? You glared at her as you rotated your neck in a tight circle and got your answer. Multiple auras were around her, not just her own muddled brown one but an orange aura and two pale yellow ones. Your aunts. “You resurrected their powers but not them? You're that determined to kill me?”

You could feel energy swirling inside of her, she was building another attack “You're the biggest mistake I've ever made. I should've killed you the moment you were born but hoped getting rid of that father of yours would help” you let a smirk slip onto your face “Didn't expect his mother to come get me huh?”

You could see the stolen auras shimmer as if she was barely holding onto them. “The difference between me and you? I'll die before you walk out of this cemetery and go anywhere near the people I love” you hoped if you could keep her talking you could build a big enough blast of energy to rip her very soul to shreds. 

You tossed a small amount of power at her and she staggered then grinned “I'm going to kill you then I'll siphon power off your hybrid” you felt anger roll through you at mention of Klaus but then she tilted her head and said “Then I'll drain the little tribrid dry” your vision burst in a haze of blue, your magic oozing out of you “Did you really just threaten the two most important people to me?” 

You walked towards her and for the first time in your life saw true fear in her eyes “I'll tear myself apart before you hurt them because unlike you, I know what love actually is”

"I can't go in” Freya nodded to the entrance of the cemetery “She's got it warded too strongly but I can feel her Nik. She's using too much of herself. If someone with vampire blood isn't there to give it to her the moment she hits the ground she's gonna die alongside that old bitch”

“Kol stay with Freya” Rebekah ordered before nodding to her other brothers “Let's go”

In all their years neither Mikaelson had ever seen a show of magic like what they just walked into.  Every inch of your body was covered in a blue light, your magic no longer hidden within your form. Even your eyes had shifted from their usual color to a vibrant blue that glowed in the dark light. A shield was formed of your magic, blocking them from getting closer. Whatever happened now they were forced to watch.

Your vision was narrowed down on one thing, making this bitch suffer before she died. You could feel others approaching and vaguely registered that they were familiar to you but you couldn't falter and give her an opening. It was time to end this. You leant down and grabbed her around the throat before lifting her up off her feet. 

Where the physical strength to hold her three feet off the ground had come from you weren't sure but you didn't care either. You looked into her eyes and smiled as a blue flame began to devour her from the inside out. “You shouldn't have come for me. You shouldn't have dragged anyone I care into it” your grip tightened on her throat before you added “and you damn sure shouldn't have threatened Klaus or Hope” you held onto her as her aura and the stolen ones of your aunts burnt under your flame “You'll die too” she tried but you simply smiled “So be it” 

When the final glimmer of her flicked away it was like you'd been drained. Your vision shifted from the blue haze to a gray fog. You'd burnt a piece of yourself off to kill her and there was a chance you'd burnt off too much. 

You felt your legs go out from under you and expected to hit the hard ground but two strong arms caught you and you heard a voice that fought against the darkness threatening to take you “Stay with me love” “Klaus?” You whispered before your eyes drifted shut.

“She's breathing and her wounds are healing. Your blood worked Nik. She just needs rest now” Freya stood protectively over where you were laid on one of the couches in the Mikaelson compound.

Klaus let his eyes track the movement of your chest rising and falling simply to reassure himself you were still alive. “It shouldn't have taken this much out of her. She's taken on covens before and didn't tire” 

Freya glanced up at him “A mother to a witch is like a sire to a vampire. In a way she broke her sire line. That's why it took so much out of her, why it nearly killed her. A lesser witch would've burnt with her mother and had no say so over it”  

Klaus flicked his eyes from his sister back to your still form. He'd nearly lost you. He'd do everything in his power to keep you safe. No one would harm you again. “Just give her space. We'll see how she's feeling come morning”

It's honestly pathetic how threatened you feel by the canon fact (check what it means, it seems your delusional brain doesn't know it) that both Klaus and Hayley loved Hope more than they could ever "love" each other. And how you quoted Klaus’s love for Hope is worrying, you're that jealous of her to a point is just comical.

Your Electra complex is seriously worrying me. Like get a grip dumbass, Phoebe Tonkin herself said Hayley was "a little sister who just wants to play with Klaus" and both of them have prioritized their love interest a thousand times. And your whole argument of "Klaus staying with Hayley's body" is genuinely embarrassing because the show CLEARLY shows how he woke up seconds or a minute before Elijah came into the church, and the first thing he said was how they needed to save his daughter. And yes, he loved Cami more and Hayley loved Jack/Elijah more, this girl literally said she wanted her family to just be her, Elijah and Hope and also said how Klaus could visit only in the weekends. I don't understand why people try to invalidate the fact that Klaus abused Hayley. He took her freedom, he physically assaulted her, and he said he trusted her and then broke her neck. He cursed her and kept her away from the daughter she died to birth just because he felt entitled to the baby. He became a deadbeat, and she had to do all the lifting on her own, and like every ungrateful teenager, Hope still didn't hesitate to throw her under the bus to have Klaus attention. Klaus loved Hayley as a family and was sexually attracted to her for a while, yes. But let's not pretend that he spent a lot of time tolerating Hayley because she was the womb who gave him a child. She was literally held in a choke by him because she wanted an abortion for the baby he crossed his heart and hoped to die that was unwanted. Klaus didn't love Hayley romantically at all, and that's why he held her to the same kind of abuse he held his siblings, especially Rebekah. The fact he accepted Hayley and Elijah far better than he accepted Jackson because in love with Hayley, Elijah would never leave him, but Hayley with Jackson would limitate his control over her life... basically all he did to Rebekah, on some scale. Cursed her to be trapped as wolf stealing her life, essentially, as he stole Finn's life. It's not the same thing, but it's the same line of thinking. Hayley was and will always be family and I love her character and think she was her best self around Klaus but he didn't loved her as a woman, he loved her a family and because he saw his family as his assets, he abused her as he abused his family, because even being a victim, Klaus was a perpetrator of the cycle of abuse his father started. Abused his siblings, abused his son, and then abused the mother of his child.

I don’t think that it’s talked about enough how weird the fandom is for pitting Hope against Caroline. Some people have an obsession in making Hope and Caroline compete for Klaus’s love and affection. People claim that Klaus loves Caroline more and that he would pick her over Hope every time. They will make up fake situations in which Klaus can only save one person, and he of course picks Caroline over Hope.

I think everyone knows that Klaus loves Hope more - that’s not really debatable. But I honestly don’t get this weird obsession over making Klaus pick Caroline. This obsession is strange, odd, and kinda disturbing.

Hope’s not one of Klaus’s love interests trying to steal him away from Caroline. She’s his literal daughter. Imagine if a stepmom got angry about the fact that her husband loves his daughter more than her - everyone would be justifiably weirded out. Maybe it’s just me but I wouldn’t want to be with a guy who would pick me over his own children.

And anyway, why does it even have to be a competition? Why can’t Klaus love Hope while also loving Caroline? Why does Klaus have to love Caroline more than Hope?

Of course, this obsession isn’t solely based on Caroline and Klaus shippers. All of Klaus’s love interests are somehow always in competition with Hope for Klaus’s love. It’s very important for the some people in fandom that Klaus loves his love interest more than he does his daughter for some reason.

And I find it odd that it’s mostly this fandom that does this weird competition between child and potential stepparent In OUPT, no one is said that Emma Swan loved Hook more than her son. In The Walking Dead, no one claimed that Rick loved Michonne more than his son.

And even in this fandom, this weird competition is only between Hope and Klaus’s love interest. No one is demanding that Caroline love Klaus more than Lizzie or Josie. No one is claiming that Hayley loved Elijah more than Hope.

Its just kinda creepy to me how people will go on rants and say that Klaus loves another woman over his daughter when the love for his daughter is completely different from whatever romantic love he feels for some other woman.

This may come as bashing towards Klaus’s ships. Really, don't ignore this. Don't blame me if you get your feelings hurt.

People have been bitter about Klaus having a daughter since the baby plot was introduced because they knew it would mean his priorities/love would shift.

Sure, Klaus says he intends to wait for Caroline however long it takes (a fake promise he didn't intend to accomplish, in my opinion, especially because once Caroline finally admitted they had something going on he said he would leave and never come back), but that changed when Hope came into the picture because then Caroline wouldn't be his greatest love, his favorite person, etc etc. It's not a surprise klaroline fans often think Caroline was the woman he loved the most romantically even when their interactions prove otherwise, and it's not something new either how much they hate whenever a new woman is introduced in his life (at least in the romantic aspect). Cami is the biggest proof of this.

Parents often love their children more than anything and Klaus did love Hope more than everything (I'm not gonna have the same debate again, if you think he loved Hayley/Caroline/Cami more grow up, seriously), even if he didn't act like it. He isn't a good father, obviously, but at least his daughter was the most important thing in his life. Seeing as Cami isn't a really big Klaus’s ship, Hayley and Caroline are, in klayley/klaroline shippers eyes, the women Klaus loved the most when it took like three seasons for both relationships to get along.

It's canon Klaus was sexually attracted to Hayley even in season three (I believe it was stated somewhere by Michael Narducci, but it was obvious anyway), and he clearly was attracted to Caroline too, and I'm pretty sure both girls felt the same way as they literally had sex, but lust has never been an equal to romantic love and we're talking about the man who slept with any pretty female who challenged him, Klaus feels sexually attracted to almost everybody. Klaus never loved Hayley romantically, and he never loved Caroline like that either in my opinion, but even if he did he still would not chose them over his own daughter.

Any time he has put somebody else above Hope, has always been because he was hurt or influenced by someone else's actions (see this post to see what I mean), and I acknowledge he's a selfish git who does what he wants, but Klaus would never actually put anyone over his daughter once everything was said and done. I mean, the only reason as to why he even rekindled his relationships with Hayley and Caroline was because of Hope, and his relationship with Hayley actually started because of Hope, because otherwise they would've gone their separate ways after sleeping together.

Klaus has a fucked up mentality, but his love for his daughter was probably the only thing that was a constant for him. How the fandom makes it a competition is crazy, because Hayley and Caroline didn't care about him that much either. Hayley was willing to let Klaus die in season four if that meant Elijah (the man she loved the most btw) would return to her, and Caroline literally married Stefan and went on with her life without thinking twice about Klaus.

Caroline doesn't love Stefan or Klaus more than she loves Lizzie and Josie, Hayley doesn't love Elijah or Jack more than she loves Hope and that's something people need to see because honestly, it's getting tiring.

Honestly, this was all great development for Klaus. He let her lead how things went vs trying to force her to adore him right away. He truly has learned from his past.
