I Can't Believe The Topic Of What Happened Between Damon And Caroline Is Still Being Debated, As If It
I can't believe the topic of what happened between Damon and Caroline is still being debated, as if it should've ever been debated in the first place. Damon 100% raped and abused Caroline, and Elena 100% knew about it and still chose to be with him anyway, because she gave no shits about anyone else but herself and was a shit friend and a piece of shit in general. And you wonder why people hated Elena so much? For that exact reason right there and deservedly so. Stop being so stupid and in denial. And Caroline being the one to actively pursue Damon first and consenting to sex one time only doesn't make what Damon did null and void. The dude is still a fucking rapist and abuser. I get you hate Caroline, but come one now.
Jesus. Take a pill and calm down lmao, no one is attacking you.
There is no evidence of Elena being aware of the rape because the writers decided to act as if Damon never touched Caroline: I'm aware he did, he forced himself on her and the show never addressed or even recognized the trauma she endured. Just as they decided to act as if he didn't also rape Andy and as if Katherine hadn't raped Stefan and as if Klaus hadn't made out with Care in Tyler's body, which is no matter what sexual abuse all the same, especially because Caroline was gonna have sex with him - I don't think he would have went further with her, though.
I do agree however with the fact that Damon 100% raped Caroline, Stefan probably knew (as it's implied) and people pretending otherwise is just stupid and awful. This conversation says everything we need to know:
[Stefan: They are people, Damon. She's not a puppet. She doesn't just exist for your amusement, for you to feed on whenever you want to.
Damon: Sure she does. They all do. They're whatever I want them to be. They're mine for the taking.
Stefan: All right, you've had your fun. You used Caroline, you got to me and Elena, good for you. Now it's time for you to go.
Damon: That's not a problem. Because... I've been invited in... and I'll come back tomorrow night, and the following night, and I'll do...with your little cheerleader whatever I want... to do, because that is what is normal... for me.]
But blaming Elena for it is straight up disgusting. As far as I know, the only time she brought up her "relationship" with Damon was in season four, some comment about how Caroline jumped in bed with him. She would have never said that if she knew he had raped her, and it's left ambiguous for a reason.
Liz was the best friend of the man who raped her daughter, Caroline got along well with the woman who raped her husband and Caroline herself was forced to get along with Damon, the man who abused her and traumatized her. Deciding if x person knew what had happened has always been our choice, the writers would never dare to address the sexual abuse this characters did simply because they were fan favorite.
Being honest it's quite stupid of your part to act as if Caroline herself wasn't also a bad friend. Everyone in the Mystic Falls gang was at one point. Hating Elena - and Matt - was literally a trend that started in social media and got out of hand because people got caught up in it, everyone was crying when Nina left and everyone hates season seven just because she wasn't on it, the character people despise so badly. And the fact that you're implying I've ever defended a rapist is fucking disgusting, I've never done that and I've never will, stop being stupid and grow the fuck up, the way toxic stans lose their shit because people don't like Caroline is ridiculous.

In my opinion, Klaus and Elijah had always been constantly rewrited to fit the narrative, but this just got worse in the last two seasons.
Klaus, who loved Hope more than everything, just resigned himself to die knowing she would be all alone and that she would lose him before even getting the chance to know him and we have Hayley being aware of the rift between her kid and Klaus and doing nothing to change it (I'm aware of their phone call) when one of her most prominent traits were how she always fought for Hope to be happy and safe - I know she tried to reach out to Klaus and I'm not excusing him abandoning their daughter at all, it's just curious to me. Elijah, who was literally fighting 24/7 to keep his family alive and together would have never allowed his brother to die knowing his niece would be left alone and even Freya, obssesed with keeping her brothers alive and always searching for solutions until the very last moment just accepted they were gonna die the first hour she knew Inadu had been trapped inside them.
Everything in season five was rushed, out of character and just straight up wrong. For example, Klaus flirting with Caroline while knowing Hayley was being tortured was disgusting - he was doing the same with Aurora, yes, but the moment he found out Rebekah could be in potential danger he flipped and lost it, so having him continue his shitty "romance" with Care was just ooc, especially because he cared about Hayley and Hope way more than for her. We have Antoinette too, who managed to charm Elijah out of nowhere and got completely irrelevant to the plot after he remembered Hayley and then there's also Declan, who was completely forgotten too despite having been with Hayley for all these years (he was literally Cami's cousin, why the fuck would they make him disappear in such a way???). And having Elijah be "unable" to live without Klaus was complete bullshit, he lived perfectly fine away from him when he thought he had daggered their siblings and threw them in the ocean while Klaus was drowning in his own paranoia.
I don't know what more to say, honestly. I agree with everything you said, the writers completely ruined their characters in season five and erased all their development.
In your opinion, would Elijah still have decided to die by his brother’s side if Hayley was still alive?
*Spoilers for Season 5 of The Originals*
In my opinion, the entire decision for Klaus and Elijah to die together was out of character.
Neither Elijah nor Klaus would die and leave Hope alone. I know she had her other family, but Klaus and Elijah always viewed themselves as family before the others. They would have wanted one of them to stay behind for her. Klaus dying for Hope really made no sense. He would have rather someone else die than leave his daughter an orphan.
To me, Elijah has always been a little suicidal so him dying was not a surprise to me. Him allowing Klaus to die, made no sense. That being said, if Hayley was alive, yes I think it may change some things. But even with Hayley alive, if it was a choice between him and his brother, he would still have been the one to sacrifice himself. He tried to do it in season 4 to save Klaus with Hayley standing right there.
Elijah is one who was always ready to sacrifice himself to protect his family. If it was ever even remotely a chance his death could save them, he jumped on it. I think it's partly because he didn't feel he deserved to live and experience any happiness, but also because he loved his siblings much more than he loved himself.
I've always viewed him erasing his memories as a way to kill himself. He erased himself rather than be separated from his family and Hayley. If he could sacrifice his life and it would allow his family to be whole once again and allow Hayley to have the support of his family, he would sacrifice himself.
So if everything else had happened the exact same way in Season 5, except for Hayley's death, I think he may have tried harder to find another way. But, if they were unable to, yes I think he still would have sacrificed himself.
Now, if there was zero way to save Klaus, I think he would have stayed for Hayley and Hope. They wouldn't have both died leaving everyone behind. But again, I don't understand how Elijah didn't make Freya give him the entire Hollow and cut Klaus out of the decision-making, splitting it made no sense for Elijah's character.
I also think it would be good character development for him to not die with Klaus. Showing that he was breaking away from his toxic codependency on Klaus, but it would be based on no real development because, if anything, they just became more dependent on each other as the show went on.
Thanks for the ask!
BYEE has this idiot been messaging us all?
They send me three long ass messages a few weeks ago of why I shouldn't hate Caroline and how she wasn't a self insert đź’€
And they're also in my asks talking shit about Elena and Hayley/her parenting lmao
Normally I wouldn’t post an account’s name that was bothering me. But after months of someone stalking me online. This is happening again. They sent me a paragraph worth of complaints on my opinions and then sent me an anon message. This has been addressed here.

What joining the Twilight Renaissance on Tumblr feels like

I get being upset about Bonnie not being invited to the Mikaelson ball, but here you go once again, blaming Caroline for a choice the writer's made, something she had no part of. People are getting weird AF with their anti Caroline stance and it's getting ridiculous.
Here you go once again, putting words I didn't say in my mouth.
Does it upset me that Bonnie wasn't invited to the ball? Yes. Does Caroline being there make me mad? No. Do I think she shouldn't have come? Yes, I certainly think so.
I complained about Caroline and Matt being there because plot wise it was absolutely stupid and it made no sense. They didn't add absolutely nothing to the events developing there, and their presence was completely unneeded: Caroline and Matt were there solely because of Klaus and Rebekah/delena. This was the moment the showrunners decided to start writing klaroline, exclusively and only because the fans liked their first scene together, so they decided to have her going to the ball just to have their "romance" developing, which made no sense for her at all;
Klaus literally tried to kill her a few episodes prior, he had Tyler bite her on her birthday leaving her on the brink of death and then he showed up to heal her. Where is her self-preservation? Wasn't she scared of him at all?
It's funny to me that she only accepted to go because of Rebekah inviting Matt. Did she thought he was in potential danger? Did she decide to go to try to protect him? I get she was worried about her friend, but this is slightly strange.
Matt was just there for Rebekah and to make Damon and Elena fight because of his altercation with Kol, nothing else, and his presence and the issue he caused wasn't that serious because they made up an episode later. Why would he go? He was a human on a house full of the oldest vampires to ever live, and he was aware of this. I'm aware Matt isn't the brightest person to walk the earth, but everybody knows a human shouldn't be around bloodthirsty vampires.
Again, just stupid. Caroline and Matt shouldn't have been at the ball, that's all. Elena and the Salvatore going made sense: she was the doppelgänger, Stefan had story with them and Damon wouldn't allow her to go anywhere without any of them.
Bonnie, however, had every single reason to be there:
She was Ayana's descendant.
Esther would want to meet a Bennett witch, seeing she was best friends with one once and she knew they were powerful allies.
She had been more close than anyone to killing Klaus: the fact that he didn't try to seduce her or try to kill her was ooc, especially because he befriended witches before klaroline came in.
Kol loved witches and this bitch knows everything about everyone. It surprises me that he didn't try to get her on his side or at least use her to try to take down any member of his family.
The Bennett bloodline is far more powerful in magic terms than any other family could ever be, their blood was needed for like half of the most powerful spells and the fact that not a single person thought about getting on Bonnie's good side is completely stupid.
What is ridiculous is that people dickride 3x14 to hell because of the fanservice. I love this episode, but calling out it's flaws it's not a bad thing.
