my 2023 in star wars art

looking through my paintings from this year and kind of noticed a theme... this isn't even all of my star wars art from this year, just my favorites. looking forward to making more in 2024!

Dagan Gera is the high republic equivalent to Anakin Skywalker, no I will not be taking any criticism I'm right. The only difference is that Dagan fell because of a planet(Maybe, Him and Santari 100% had something going on did you see that hand placement 🤨.

Someone on tiktok pointed out that the creator of the grid probably didn't mean that type of ship but oh well, if your curious my favourite ship is The Chimera, Thrawns ship.

-A.k.a I just finished it and it had some of the best writing ever what- and the speech at the end was fucking amazing, Cassian Andor is such a compelling character to watch, and the Imperials were so well written aksiidodjdodjfifh, I literally teared up during the prison break and I don't even know why

And yeah T^T, I think it will also depend on what happens to Cal in the 3rd game (A very hidden part of me really thinks he's going to die and I'm very sad about that fake scenario), I feel like all 3 of them had a dry sense of humour, maybe their name could revolve around that

How many Jedi lineages actually have names? Cause I know Yoda's and Mace's does, did we ever come up with a name for Cal's? (I'm sure I'm missing other lineages, feel free to let me know of any I didn't list)

That's a cool name for them! I like that, it definitely encompasses their whole vibe better! (Can I use this name in a Lineage tree I'm making? I can credit you in the piece)

And yeah, I'm trying to think of what they all had in common, I didn't know Yaddle that well other than her episode in tales of the jedi, and we don't have much info on Tapal so, it'll be interesting to try and come up with something.

Okay, so I just recently finished s3 of the Mandalorian, and I was thinking something while watching the final two episodes. So the red guard dudes are like, pretty scary or whatever, but I think those electro-staffs they fight with should have been made out of Beskar too. Like, imagine watching Paz's death scene, which is already really sad and then seeing the Red Guards weapons stab THROUGH his armour. Which, if you remember, the Armouror said that only Beskar could pierce Beskar armour. Like, imagine the dread you would feel to know that the Beskar armour isn't enough to protect them anymore.

I was replaying through Jedi: Survivor the other day and finished it, and a thought occurred to me I hadn't really thought of before. Spoilers under the cut.

Even after everything Bode did to them, Cal still gives him a proper Jedi funeral, with the cremation and such. The fact that after he caused the death of two of the people Cal cared a lot about, Cal still did that for him. And maybe he did it for Kata's sake, who knows. It's just the fact that Cal still cared enough to do that and it makes my heart break for him. I had never really thought about it before last night

A drawing I did of Merrin! I've been having some trouble with front facing profiles so I wanted to practice, as well as some lighting practice mixed in!

I'm drawing up some concepts of what the Jedi: Survivor characters could possibly look like if they do a third game and I'm having some trouble deciding Kata's saber colour? I like the idea of her using the healed crystal from the lightsaber Bode used (dagans saber) but I'm not too sure, here's what I was choosing between.

Some Darkside!Cal Kestis I drew earlier, finally got my markers back. The Nova Garon mission was so awesome, definitely one of my favourite parts of the game.
