So, these are for an art competition on Icepets-- yes. I know. I’m a dork. LEAVE ME ALONE DANGIT XD
BUT I really like art competitions because they give me a chance to spread out my artistic wings and draw something new. And I love what I was able to make here!
The first two are not 100% original (the line work anyway) because it was more like a “coloring page” contest. The sweater idea was mine though and it’s funny because a Ridix is kinda like a cat and... yeah... XD
And then the OTHER pictures are photos that I took, and then editing on photoshop to make this really adorable character that I have now fallen in love with because he’s just WEIRD XD And yes his sweater is made out of tissue. I had to think outside of the box-- if you know what I mean *winky face*
These were just a joy to make! And I hope you enjoy their unique qualities as much as I do. The creatures themselves are creations based on the creatures from the game of Ice Pets.
(Also tabsterblaster if you’re reading this YES that is totally that meerkat you gifted me XD)
BTW, Merry Christmas everyone!

Abstract Art! We made the story of our lives... through cut pieces of scrap paper... it gave me an appreciation for this type of art that I've never been able to see before. I'm definitely interested in doing more of this in the future.

I should start logging my hours with these projects. This was quite a joy to make! I learned a lot of techniques for creating ice effects... However, none were to my liking, so I had to create my own. Ah the joys of Photoshop. It wasn’t meant to be one of my characters, but he suddenly transformed into a revamped version of my old friend: Frazier. He usually wears a blindfold over his difficult-to-create-in-photoshop-eyes. But despite my complaints, it was fun to figure out exactly how they look.

Title: Out of... A non-traditional media artistic piece. Materials include melted crayon, thread spools, a shadow box and plexiglass. A very fun piece to make! When melting crayons, you are never really sure how its going to turn out, but thats all part of the process! I put the oven at 250 and melted the crayons for 10 to 15 minutes. Darker colors melt faster than lighter ones- something I did not realize before starting this project. XD Definitely try it at home! Just make sure you stay safe haha.

It was fun trying to figure out how to make a decent sandstorm.

We the People
So, this may seem kinda silly, but I made this little guy in commemoration (that really isn’t the right word is it) of today. I don’t super like spreading my political views on the internet for fear of backlash, but I don’t think I can keep quiet anymore. Net Neutrality was voted down, which is a bummer. What I think is worse still is that the voices of “the people” just aren’t being listened too. The battle certainly isn’t over yet though, so let’s not give up hope! Fight fight fight against it!
Anyways, I know it’s nothing grand or fancy-- but it means something to me, and I think that’s what is most important. Creating art is the my only outlet so this was the poster I made to express my feelings. Feel free to spread it around if you feel the same way.
