Watched Pixar's Elemental And It Was Super Cute.
Watched Pixar's Elemental and it was super cute.
The story is pretty generic, but the relationship between Wade & Ember is sweet and carries quite a bit.
Also, genuinely surprised by the racism allegory in the film.

Originally I wanted to wait until Summer to post this, but I learned that before David Bowie was decided to be Jareth the Goblin King in the Labyrinth movie, they had considered other famous singers like Michael Jackson and Prince.
So I made a kinda playlist based off of the songs they made before the movie (1986 and before).
Here's Bowies original movie soundtrack
Underground
Magic Dance
Chilly Down
As The World Falls Down
Within You
And here's my weird idea, I tried picking them based on similar meanings, but idk.
Michael Jackson
P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)
Thriller
Somebody’s Watching Me
Cinderella Stay A While
The Lady in My Life
Prince
When Doves Cry
Let’s Go Crazy
Jungle Love
Purple Rain
Take Me with U
Small Sketch of the eldrich muppet at work
I recently discovered Jack Stauber's Opal and I swear if this had came out during my middle school years on the internet, it would haunt me for decades. Low-key it kinda has been haunting me since I've seen it.
I want to see more, like how do the adults interact with each other, you know if they can even acknowledge each other in their own self isolation and narcissism.
But, above all else...I just want to pick Claire up and give her a happy and good life away from her toxic family. First stop would be getting her a burger from Opal's
I've been kinda obsessed with labyrinth recently and a part of me is kinda annoyed with the whole "Jareth did nothing wrong" narrative.
Like depending on the theory you subscribe to he's either a literal figment of Sarah's teen hormone riddled imagination or Jareth might be a former 'sacrifice' or a scary Fae.
Sarah was a bit spoiled and was hating on her baby brother wrongly, but the girl wasn't expecting a literal otherworldly king to take her seriously.
Idk, feels like another 'it's all pink diamonds fault' scenario.
On a slightly separate note, there was a fanfic on ao3 that I can't find where basically the 'Jareth' in that one wasn't actually Jareth, it was a fae that took on similarities to get the reader to like him.
Trying to find it, but I'm not coming up with anything.
