To die by the hands of someone you grew up with, someone you gave your life to. Like to die knowing that the one who you gave your literal life to hates you. I havent read the book yet so i do not know what happens in the novel in his death scene but the look on wei ying's face as he said let go of me and calls out to jinag cheng is forever etched into ny memories

I am confused and torn between whether to hate or love xue yang. And yes, this is about him, xiao xingchan and song lan again.

Like, i will actually cry if i got to read about song lan's adventure. And i mean just because of xue yang, two perfectly good innocent people who were bestfriends, got torn apart and witnessed the other die.(indrectly)

But all i've seen till now is xue yang's and xiao xingchen's ships and i dont understand because xue yang literally drove him to the point of suicide.

HE MADE HIM KILL THE BESTFRIEND WHO XXC GAVE HIS EYES TO

Like huh?!?!? Song lan's perspective is probably so sad... like imagine your living a good life, calm and all then suddenly you capture a guy and in revenge the guy kills your whole family(clan) and you go blind. Then you see again because your best bro gave his eyes to you but just as you wanted to say thank you, you couldnt. Then you waited more than 5 years searching (i assume) for him but in the end got killed by the person who never got the chance to say thank you or sorry to. Like, to know the person who you took on many adventures just killed himself like that and the only thing remaing is an artifact which used to belong in the memories of someone long gone.

Not to mention the look lan zhan has while giving song lan the sword because he knows the feeling of losing someone you loved...

And even though song lan has xiao xingchan's spiritual cognition, its so broken to the ppint he cant bring him back and i assume cant talk to him through the music notes too because of this.

So song lan basically travels the world with a peice of memory about someone who he will never meet again until his next life.

((BUT THAT TOO IN SOME CULTURE SAY UPON SUICIDE ALL TIES GET CUT OFF AND YOU NEVER BE WITH SOMEONE FROM PAST LIFE AGAIN))

Overall, THEIR STORY IS FUCKING SAD AND I WILL COMMIT SERIOUS WAR CRIMES IF IT MEANT TO SEE THEM REUNITE ATLEAST ONCE😭😭😭😭😭😭

Xue yang. I could go into more depth because this character xue yang is so.... broken.

This boy, who we know nothing of, just wanted revenge and after he got it, he died.

He killed over 50 people and then decieved those who interfered him by making the so called hero kill innocent people.

He bit the hand that helped him and died for it.

And he didnt regret anything as we see until the last moments.

This man was so broken, and just as he was healing with xxc by his side more shit came. I honnestly would read an entire book if it was about him because he is just so intricate. Like wtf even goes on in his mind? I wanna know. And nobody talks that much about him from what i see.

Xue yang is a hell of a character and i am so sad we only get to see so little of him in the series because i would love to know what or who made this seven year old decide to take revenge for more than 20 years straight.
