I think it would be really funny if the reason we never learn Shang Qinhua’s birth name (as opposed to courtesy name) even in the flashbacks when he’s a disciple, is that he quite simply doesn’t remember it. He was born, gradually got his memories back, and went “ahhh fuck I transmigrated as Shang Qinghua” and that was it. he perceives himself as Shang Qinghua. Whenever someone calls him Shang ▉▉▉ he just kind of spaces out and then goes “wait- huh- that’s me!” Whenever someone asks his name, he stares at them blankly until someone else nearby offers it for him. When he finally gets his courtesy name he breathes a massive sigh of relief because oh god he kept almost saying Qinghua when people asked his name and that would have caused so many problems.

Tianlang-jun: Master Shen, can I offer you something? Water? Tea? My nephew's hand in marriage?

Shen Qingqiu: what?

Tianlang-jun: Perhaps wine? Some snacks? My sons hand in marriage?

Shen Qingqiu: I-

Tianlang-jun: Tanghulu? Congee? My hand in marriage?

love the thought that "balls" might actually be some demonic unit of measurement like SQQ asks Binghe what fucking balls n he's like "idk shizun I never bothered to learn demon lore" and he asks Mobei and Sha Hualin and they both are like "uhm???it's six balls. What's unclear??" SQQ is going fucking insane, then Mobei picks up random object like "mhm this is about six balls heavy." N Sha Hualin takes it then like "I'd say nearly seven"

SQQ spends the entire night trying to figure out how much "a ball" is in normal measurement units.

I feel like we don't give Binghe enough credit, at least in regards to squaring him up against Bingge.

It seems like people will see that Binghe is more open with his emotions (being willing to cry, pout, smile, laugh etc.) and call him 'soft' or even 'weak' in comparison to Bingge.

It's like people forget; Binghe was actually formally trained by his Shizun and peak, something Bingge wasn't. He also went through the same challenges in the endless abyss, but overcame them much faster; years faster in fact! And he possesses the same level of strength and skill.

Remember, when they met in the extra, they were perfectly matched; neither able to beat the other. And the moment Shen Qingqiu stepped in; the instant even a little bit of outside interference got involved in Binghe's favor, he won.

It didn't take much for Binghe to ultimately win that fight; just one extra person to tip the scales in his favor, and he had Bingge beat.

He's as strong, capable and deadly as Bingge, and I'd even argue he's stronger; not physically, but simply because he has a lot more worth fighting for.

You fight harder, more viciously, and for longer when you have something worth fighting for, and because of that I honestly think Binghe would ultimately win in a one-on-one against his counterpart. He's not weak because he cries; I'd even say he's stronger because of it.
