A Deep Room Cleanse

The state of my room is extremely important to me. It’s a direct reflection of my mental health, so when it’s messy, my energy levels are low and I just feel yucky. There’s no way I’m getting any kind of work done, magical or mundane. When it feels good and clean to be in, it’s a lot easier to deal with my symptoms and be productive. You don’t have to do every step every time of course, but each step has helped me so I figured a list like this might help someone.
Change the lighting. Use natural sources of light (like pulling back the curtains and letting the sun in) over artificial ones. If you have salt lamps to turn on, those are still very nice. If you need artificial light to keep it from being too dark, try to prioritize light bulbs you like the color of, and ones that don’t whistle quietly when they’re on.
Change the airflow. Open a window, if you can. Often our rooms feel yucky because the air is stale. Get some fresh air moving. If it’s too cold, it’s okay to only keep it open for a few minutes or put on a coat while you work because you’re stubborn like me.
Change the sound. Put on your favorite cleansing music. Let it soak into the room. I tend to go or ambient spa stuff, or playlists that sound built for a rainy day. (Note: the music that helps you cleanse the best may not be the same as what you like the most. The playlist should keep you focused/uplifted while you work and reflect the vibes you want your room to have.)
Change the smell. Take out the trash, maybe refresh the sheets on your bed. Light a scented candle, some incense, heat up some oil, something to make your room smell distinctly different from the mucky-feeling room from before. (If your method of choice is something short like a room spray, I actually like doing it at the very end.)
Actually clean and organize. Nothing junks up the energy of a room more quicker than actual junk. Organize everything as much as you can (this might mean finally gutting your closet, even if you can close the door and hide it.) Wipe down any surfaces that need it, get everything fresh and functional again. Do some laundry while you work. If you have clothes or trinkets that are just collecting dust, extra points for purging them!
Cleanse any sacred spaces by themselves. A lot of us have altars or shrines in our rooms. A sacred space can also be just an extra important area of your room, like a reading nook. Make sure to give them extra attention! You don’t need to wipe the board energetically (and probably shouldn’t), but taking a little extra time to clean surfaces, straighten up, and make sure everything feels okay on them goes a long way.
Cleanse in your regular way. Bust out the herb bundles, the bells, the ribbons, the broom, whatever you usually do to cleanse a space! The room is SUPER primed for it now, most of the negative energy probably already feels removed if not broken down. A good once-over with your favorite cleansing method should finish it off nicely.
Refresh any wards or protections. Self explanatory. If you maintain energy borders in your room, now is a good time to check in on them and zhoosh them if needed. Keep the space clean for longer!
Practice self-care. Take a shower, a nap, eat some food, whatever you need. You’ve put in a lot of work and you deserve it.

Just some pics of Bosco having fun with a really long stick. He likes being able to knock pedestrians over when running past them.
And yes... people did stop and stare. Most made jokes and asked me about it.

Bees in Magick:
Bees are closely associated with the fae and their presence in gardens which indicates blessings of fae. Encourage the bees, by putting up bee houses, hives, planting bee-friendly plants and waterers and not using pesticides. Thus, encouraging the blessings from the fae, while harming bees can anger them and cause them to seek revenge.
The symbol of a bee can be used to seal a spell with sweetness for one who appreciates good will and a sting for one who takes it for granted or doesn’t keep his end of the bargain.
Honey stirred into your tea can ‘sweeten’ your day.
Honey is used often in magick to sweeten a situation.
Anointing your lips with honey will make your words sound sweeter.
Bees in your dreams:
May be a good omen.
Bees in your dreams may be telling you to take a look at your social networks. They may be pointing toward a desire for more harmonious and functional relationships, or celebrating the ones you already have.
A visit from a bee in a dream may also be notifying you that a friend or family member needs to speak with you. You will know as this person will also pop into your mind somehow. It means call them or perhaps, that you will hear from them soon.
Dreaming of a beehive usually relates to the home and family or your business and coworkers. A happy, buzzing hive means a happy, buzzing home. It may foretell incoming abundance, and fruitful times ahead. If the bees are swarming around the hive, rather than working in it, proceed with caution. There is a lack of harmony that is interfering with productivity.
A swarm of bees may indicate that you feel that a group of people upon whose cooperation you rely is becoming chaotic and out of control. Perhaps the need to balance your own interactions with your different business and social groups for your own sanity.
Beehives bring to mind abundance and prosperity: bees seem to work hard and are rewarded by flowing stores of honey. An empty beehive, then, represents the opposite: lost opportunity and financial misfortune.
A beehive can also represent a home. The fullness or emptiness of the beehive may indicate unconscious feelings about family life, marriage, children, or the house itself. Honey may represent your property or belongings.
A beehive on fire or burned bees are often interpreted depending on your emotional and physical condition. Burned bees may mean you are overcoming fear and want to take control of life and anger, are you’re progressing through life with more confidence without any fear of obstacles. Burned beehives can also mean you have lost something precious, like money, a relationship, or some valuable information that you’ve forgotten or ignored.
If a bee or a swarm of bees is chasing you in dream, it may mean there is some unsettled business or a memory that haunts you. Make sure you let it go from your mind or deal with it in order to avoid these bees.
If you dream about getting a bee sting then something may be bothering you, or you have a persistent annoyance in your life. Concerns about your relationship, career, finance, or some unknown issue is bugging your subconscious mind. Find out what it is and sort it out.
Magickal uses for Honey:
Can be used in binding spells to symbolically stick things together.
Used for offerings to fae and deities.
Can sweeten a person or a situation.
Honey is sacred to Aphrodite.
Can be used in spells corresponding to purification, health, love, happiness, spirituality, wisdom, good fortune, fertility,
Use certain types of honey that corresponded with your spell.
Bathe in warm water and honey to attract love.
A dish filled with honey can attract angels and beneficial spirits.

Making meiländerlis <3

Finally finished sewing my petticoat. I did it all by hand. Do not recommend this method it took so much longer than just doing it by machine. At least it makes my skirts puffy and the lace poking out from underneath is adorable.
Have you ever just gone on a walk with your parents/family or friends and had the urge to go roll in the grass and climb the trees and cliffs but you know they’ll call you crazy if you accually do it? And then you do it.
Or just taken of your outer clothes and taken a dip in a random freezing body of water because you were overheating?

I‘m just really proud of this look...
small town academia
promising your parents (who don’t know about your tumblr or your discord group) that you’re not as anti-social as you seem
finding your people and making online friends from other countries because you’re bored of the same dozen classmates you could never relate to but still had to talk to anyway for 8 hours a day/180 days a year/all your life
yearning about hopping on a plane or a train or a bus and visiting said online friends
collecting stamps or postcards from all of the places you’ve actually been able to go to irl
exchanging letters with a pen pal because what else is there to do here
laughing at your long-distance friend who mistakenly thought you lived in a big city of the same name… and never letting them forget it
fantasizing about all the books (and their fading annotations!) you could snatch up at the local thrift store—then realizing there’s a 99% chance that you’ll see someone you know and that you won’t be able to hide from them
questioning your decision of joining your school choir because (although not everyone believes) you almost always sing pretty church hymns
auditioning for the plays and musicals solely for the period costumes
befriending some or all of your teachers because there aren’t enough other students to confuse you with
trying too hard in school and hoping to get into your dream uni somewhere far away
wanting to grow up faster so you can get out of this town and then realizing that means you’d have to figure out how to do your own taxes
watching movies and shows on your own that you wouldn’t watch with your friends because they’re too “old” or they’re in a language no one else speaks
being afraid to wear what you want at school and around your family because everyone else looks and dresses a certain way
running for student government or creating your own club to leave a mark on this pitiful place
staring out the window at the sky and daydreaming as your yellow school bus makes it rounds
walking the streets at night or in the older, darker neighborhoods where the big trees grow because there’s not much to be worried about other than someone’s nearly-hoarse dog
driving out into the fields just so you can watch the sun set and stargaze away from all the light pollution that your tiny town somehow manages to produce
taking yourself on a date at the local coffee/candy shop or bookstore (or heading over to the nearest one in the town over the hills lol) because you haven’t found anyone near you that you’d like to take with you
Is fishermancore a thing? I hope it is <3 dark skies over steel blue ocean, Cable knit sweaters, finger weathered books, a wooden canoe bobbing on calm waters, old brick buildings an an almost too shaggy beard <3 Wool coats and hand knit scarves, thick leggings underneath a knee length skirt and rain boots!!! Please 🥺
7 things you should know if you live near nature:
it’s alright to pick flowers! but only as long as they’re not for you or you make a flower crown with them. leave offerings (an offering goes from a conversation with nature to leaving jewels.)
if there’s only one flower in the whole plant, let it be. it’s the mother.
thorns aren’t bad, but don’t bleed on the soil.
don’t pick poppies if you’re a long way from home, their petals fall off easily and you don’t want a trail of bright red petals that lead to your front door, do you?
be kind to every life you find along the way.
don’t be scared. if you’re scared, nature will give you reasons to be scared. try and always be relaxed and at peace.
dress accordingly! earthy tones, greens, flower patterns, flowy dresses. don’t put in too many layers.
tips for driving down back roads at night
check to make sure all of your headlight bulbs are working before you depart from your starting location. not only are broken headlights against the law, you could potentially be blindly stumbling into some dangerous territory. the more area you can see, the better. the last thing you want is to be stuck on their land.
do not let your eyes linger on the wheat fields. some have reported a sudden drop in temperature in their car. some have spoken of a tugging sensation coming from the fields. some have claimed they saw the devil himself grinning back. you do not want to find out what lurks within the wheat fields.
if you happen to come across a hitchhiker, check for wounds or anything out of the ordinary on their person. if their eyes reflect your headlights, drive faster. do not stop under any circumstances. do not slow down until you are absolutely sure they cannot catch up to you. they are not human.
do not slow down or stop to marvel at the cottage in the forest. do not go inside or get out of your car. you will not return unscathed.
if you see yellow eyes watching you from the corn, continue on. they are just the ravens.
if you see red eyes watching you from the corn, continue on. they are just the crows.
if you see green eyes watching you from the corn, get out of there as fast as you possibly can. they will follow you. they will hunt you down.
objects in your side mirrors indeed seem closer than they look. don’t glance over too often, though. they come nearer with every look.
the creatures in the woods are rumored to attack pickup trucks more often than any other type of automobile. make sure all of your windows are shut and your truck bed is empty and uncovered if you drive one. you wouldn’t want to ferry one of them home without knowing.
do not stare at the empty, broken-down cars on the side of the road. they do not welcome the gazes of strangers. it is best if you only say a quick prayer for them and drive on. you do not want to be next.
the radio may spit out some inaudible blubber occasionally. white noise may come through for a few seconds before reverting back to what you were listening to. just convince yourself you’re driving through a spot with patchy satellite signal. don’t mind what they’re saying through the static. ignorance is bliss.
some travelers claim they often hear shrieking while they are driving. contrary to popular belief, they do not want to hurt you. they are just playing tricks on you. just don’t slow down. just don’t stop.
whatever you do, don’t fall asleep. pull into a rest stop, at least. do not fall asleep on the side of the road. you may not wake up again.
the witching hour does not apply when you’re on the road. they roam after sunset. they are bloodthirsty. stay aware of your surroundings.
that stain on the grass over there was definitely from a deer. don’t think too much about it.
right?
not everything that you can see is real.
not everything that is real you can see.
the devil never sleeps. he is out for blood. he is nothing like anything you’ve ever seen before. you have been warned.
