I just saw a post of someone hating on the Marauders/Harry Potter fandom and how we’ve created false characteristics and behaviours of characters that were only mentioned in passing or very little overall.

Might I clarify, is that not the whole point of headcanons, fanon and fandom?

The reason we’ve, as a collective, fabricated these concepts is because we take comfort in using characters that we’ve read about (from young) and giving them little quirks that might make people feel less alone or even realise “Oh, wow! There’s someone else out there who likes the same things I like!” or “You think that too?! That’s so cool!”

It’s about forming connections and creating a community through common ground (which many people unfortunately do not have in their lives). Why would you take that away from someone or discredit something they love and are passionate about?

If you don’t like the fandom, stick to the originals because it’s truly unfair for you to tell someone that their own opinions, thoughts and preferences are bullshit just because you don’t approve and agree with every little thing.

In my head Sirius had a one sided beef with Barty, like Sirius hated Barty so much. Mainly because Barty was a lot like Bella, and it stressed Sirius out that he and regulus were best friends, so much so that when he stared to think Barty and regulus where getting too close, he lifted the “no dating my baby brother” rule and started to plan on how to get regulus and James together

Regulus was that one short kid who would not hesitate to climb the fucking shelves, because he would rather do that then ask for help

James: Reg.. what are you doing up there?

Regulus: *Clinging on for dear life while also trying to grab a book* Nothing.

James: Okay.. *grabs book* You know I was actually looking for this. I think I’ll take it for myself-
