If you're going to send accusations into my inbox I am not going to entertain them unless you attach actual proof.

This is not a statement of willful ignorance or defence. I am simply not going to make any judgements or actions based on claims which have no evidence attached. If you're going to go around anonymously warning people about other users, you need to be, at bare minimum, including valid evidence.

Tumblr removed the ability to hyperlink in asks, but you can still just paste the link as plain text in the askbox. No need for spaces or breaks. At one point it had also removed the ability to paste a link, but that only lasted about three days.

I don't trust "documented evidence" as well, unless it's like in an official website or whatever. it's the mfing internet and people can edit or create fake messages or fake victims. hell, even with the new ai thingy they can create fake videos and pics. who gets to say these are real or not? I am saying this as a victim of fake callout posts who never got believed.

Modern cancel culture and the ability to just throw accusations around and be believed blindly have honestly ruined actual internet safety, accountability and being able to protect yourself and others from both false accusations and real dangerous people.

Its why I take issue with statements like "believe victims no matter what" and "support accusations until they're proven fake."

People have gone to jail for forty years and been proven innocent.

People have been murdered and their accusers have come forward to reveal they made the accusations up.

People have killed themselves over false accusations.

False accusations and blind witch hunting can ruin a person's life for literal decades.

It has absolutely nothing to do with proship vs antiship culture, even though the latter culture is in part what has exacerbated my stance. It has everything to do with the fact that practically weekly there's new news headlines about people milking a dead celebrity's estate with easily disproven claims, or bitter teenagers faking screenshots and falling over themselves to get internet sympathy because their boyfriend broke up with them.

I will always give victims a certain amount of benefit of doubt, but what I won't do is blindly launch a brigade against someone based on claims with no proof or flimsy proof with more holes in it than a festival tent.

Hi, I'm the original person who sent that "callouts with documented evidence" ask, and I was originally talking about toonimal. Who repeatedly admitted he was a predator. I understand that callout was handled terribly (ex. not blurring victims names) but seeing people reply UNDER THE POST that "well... pedophile has been washed down so much" as if they can't just click "read more" is so frustrating.

Then you tell them to click 'read more' and leave them to their own conclusions. If they want to remain in wilful ignorance that's a them issue. If they were simply being reactive and ill-informed, they can correct themselves.

My original points still stand in reference to your original vague ask, though.

(In that I won't personally begrudge anyone who doesn't immediately jump into the fray on a callout with unwavering faith.)

Unfortunately for those who want to remain stubborn and ignorant there's only so much you can do. Some people are so entrenched in making online culture and community their entire life that its impossible to pry them out of that state of existence and its rules.

I do, unfortunately, know such people in real life and they are fucking impossible to co-exist with even as someone who shares most of their values.

I stopped being an anti because I was bored so I made a proship acc (not to expose people and harass them, just out of boredom /gen) and found out my #1 fav artist was a proshipper so I kept tha blog for a few more weeks just to interact with them more... 😂

and the more I came into proship spaces the more I realized how harmful anti spaces were. I was constantly stressed, and worried about getting harassed for my oc being gay due to childhood sexual trauma and many other things.

Honestly; a lot of people don't actually realize how harmful the more extremist/active 'anti' community is. If you're living in constant fear of doing the 'wrong thing' or constant fear that you're next, that you'll be harassed or called out or harmed, it is not safe. It is not healthy.

There's no right or wrong way to 'become' proship. There's no obligations to interact with content you don't enjoy if you do, either.

What even is proshipping

Proshipping is pro-shipping. As in; for shipping. In support of shipping.
