If You Are Going To Post Praise Or Support For Jaskier's Confirmed Sexuality, Please Do Not Dedicate
If you are going to post praise or support for Jaskier's confirmed sexuality, please do not dedicate it to The Witcher or the showrunners and writers. Dedicate it to Joey. Joey is the one who fought from day one for the show to honor Jaskier's sexuality. Joey is the one who spent weeks arguing with the writers and show runners to make the scenes accurate, engaging, respectful and honest. Joey is the one who said if you're going to use this as a lifeline, you're at least going to do it right.

Girlies commenting on fanfiction going 'but this is out of character' as if it isn't ✨fan✨✨fiction✨
Like I get it. Sometimes when you read fanfiction you want it to be as reflective of canon as possible. You want to read the character as you know them. But everyone interprets and observes characters differently. Certain plots and events and themes and writing styles will change how a character behaves and presents themselves.
A disgruntled five thousand year old vampire isn't going to have the same personality as a thirty year old goofball firefighter. A jocky high school student isn't going to have the same personality as a grizzled middle-aged hunter who's died 3763755 times and personally thrown hands with god.
More to the point. Fanfiction is an exercise in creative freedom. If I want to turn that uwu twink into a vicious little dumper fire, my god, I'll do it. You can't stop me.
The only true representation of a character is the canon material. Everything else is just how someone else sees that person.
I'm going to say this incredibly bluntly, but The Witcher (finally) providing canon confirmation and representation of Jaskier's bisexuality is nothing but a blatant grab for ratings and views and positive engagement in a piss-poor attempt to revive itself.
Jaskier deserves better. Joey Batey, who's thrown his entire being into this role, deserves better. The fans deserve better.
From the moment the show was announced they've been skirting the topic, flirting with it whenever it suits them and outright ignoring it when they can't think of anything smart and vague to say. Baiting fans by coyly saying they couldn't possibly confirm he is, but they can't deny he is either.
Using it as a counter to try and stop their public image and longevity disintegrating is just... So fucking disappointing. Its been done before by other shows, both with queer characters and with other concepts, but again.
Joey and Jaskier deserved more. Jaskier being acknowledged as bisexual should've been its own moment. It should've been for the character, not for the profit.
By the way you can't oppose big studios attempting to use AI-generated replicas of real people then fawn over AI song covers and deepfakes. They're the same act.
FYI you can enjoy Jaskier being canonically bisexual while also acknowledging that its being used as a hosepipe on a gasoline fire. Jaskier being bisexual is not the bad thing. How and why its now being included is.
Sometimes I think humanity is so obsessed with the notion of not being obligated to do something or not expending effort to do something, that we've completely eradicated the fact that realistically, there's no harm or negative outcome in just.
Doing it.
"Readers aren't obligated to comment on fics." "Friends aren't obligated to check in on each other." "I don't have to not say X so someone else isn't uncomfortable."
Okay but. Paltry excuse for laziness and uncaring aside, why not? Why wouldn't you? It takes less than 15 seconds to let your friend know you hope they have a good day. It takes less than 15 seconds to leave even a single heart emoji under your favorite author's works. It has literally no impact on you, at all, to simply not say something that upsets someone else.
Why are we so obsessed with the fact that we don't have to do things that are actually extremely basic, consume little to no time and cost us nothing? Shouldn't we want to anyway? Where's the joy in life if we're all just sat in our own miserable bubbles refuting most of life's interactions? Why are we so obsessed with the entitlement of consuming things without ever giving anything back?
Its honestly fucking baffling. I hate seeing those Facebook posts from people who brag about not talking to their friends for months on end like its some kind of accomplishment.
Stop thinking about the fact that you don't have to do something and start thinking of the reasons why you should anyway.
