I'm Going To Say This Incredibly Bluntly, But The Witcher (finally) Providing Canon Confirmation And
I'm going to say this incredibly bluntly, but The Witcher (finally) providing canon confirmation and representation of Jaskier's bisexuality is nothing but a blatant grab for ratings and views and positive engagement in a piss-poor attempt to revive itself.
Jaskier deserves better. Joey Batey, who's thrown his entire being into this role, deserves better. The fans deserve better.
From the moment the show was announced they've been skirting the topic, flirting with it whenever it suits them and outright ignoring it when they can't think of anything smart and vague to say. Baiting fans by coyly saying they couldn't possibly confirm he is, but they can't deny he is either.
Using it as a counter to try and stop their public image and longevity disintegrating is just... So fucking disappointing. Its been done before by other shows, both with queer characters and with other concepts, but again.
Joey and Jaskier deserved more. Jaskier being acknowledged as bisexual should've been its own moment. It should've been for the character, not for the profit.

"Yeah art theft and copyright violation is bad and all but hey at least people who can't actually figure out how to google or create reference pictures can have something to inspire them!"
While how AI gets the reference art is fucking awful and it is theft, it is nice for those who may have trouble putting pen to paper or pen to screen or just can’t draw but they have a good idea in mind
Sometimes I think humanity is so obsessed with the notion of not being obligated to do something or not expending effort to do something, that we've completely eradicated the fact that realistically, there's no harm or negative outcome in just.
Doing it.
"Readers aren't obligated to comment on fics." "Friends aren't obligated to check in on each other." "I don't have to not say X so someone else isn't uncomfortable."
Okay but. Paltry excuse for laziness and uncaring aside, why not? Why wouldn't you? It takes less than 15 seconds to let your friend know you hope they have a good day. It takes less than 15 seconds to leave even a single heart emoji under your favorite author's works. It has literally no impact on you, at all, to simply not say something that upsets someone else.
Why are we so obsessed with the fact that we don't have to do things that are actually extremely basic, consume little to no time and cost us nothing? Shouldn't we want to anyway? Where's the joy in life if we're all just sat in our own miserable bubbles refuting most of life's interactions? Why are we so obsessed with the entitlement of consuming things without ever giving anything back?
Its honestly fucking baffling. I hate seeing those Facebook posts from people who brag about not talking to their friends for months on end like its some kind of accomplishment.
Stop thinking about the fact that you don't have to do something and start thinking of the reasons why you should anyway.
I absolutely want to make this clear:
You can choose to use a condom at any time. Any. Time. It doesn't matter if you've been raw-dog fucking for years. You have the right to say; "hey, we can have sex but only if we use a condom."
And if your partner refuses, you do not have to have sex. If the condom is a stipulation and condition of you two having sex and your partner refuses to agree to that term, they're refusing to have sex. Period.
There is no valid excuse to not use one if your partner has requested it.
(Also, you can use condoms for reasons other than birth control. They're convenient for less mess, they protect from sexually transmitted infections and diseases, and they provide peace of mind.)
Actually, it is incredibly weird to just directly copy celebrities' tattoos. Like, imagine if you had a tattoo in memory of your dead parent and someone you've literally never met comes up to you on the street, shows you the exact same tattoo and tells you that they love you so much they got this and they want you to like. Be happy about that? Think that's a good thing?
"They've never said they don't like it!"
They shouldn't have to.
"They've never said it has a specific meaning!"
They shouldn't have to.
Its creepy. Its invasive. Its weird. Period.
Tattoos inspired by a celebrity's or incorporating aspects of a celebrity's is one thing, but this trend where its acceptable and even encouraged to just up and directly take a piece of someone's personal art and put it on your body is insane.
