I’ve always found it interesting that there are many different takes in understanding the story of Pandora and the jar. The most well-known one being naive curiosity leading to the eternal despair of humanity, but the remaining hope giving them reason to live on.

I personally like the interpretation of Pandora’s action and hope meaning the pursuit of knowledge letting humanity break out of the bliss of ignorance. Like in the Brave new world and the garden of Eden, not being aware of one’s own suffering can leave people simply content. But without knowing wrongness, there cannot be any real improvement in their lives.

I had so much fun drawing the amphora so thank you for requesting this drawing :)

Aztec Gods Headcanons 2

Okay, the first part of this 'headcanon' isn't really a headcanon.

Tezcatlipoca is said in the myths to be disabled, because you know he and Quetzalcoatl put their two braincells together to devise a (terrible may I just say by the sounds of it) plan to kill Cipactli that ended in Tez losing his leg

I hc he has this prosthetic leg that results in a bit of a limp (more accentuated at times) because can you imagine him getting out of a fight and he's limping only due to his disability and one of the gods that probably didn't hear the first 1000 times Tez told the story is like "Oh gods are you hurt"

and Tez is just like "Nah this is from that one time my leg got bitten off by this primordial crocodile monster"

And they're like "..."

Anyway sometimes he uses a crutch because I SAY SO

I don't know if this has been asked yet, but what would be Xipe-Totec's favorite ice cream?

Apollo rises with his sun chariot at dawn like usual, but this time he's confronted by a pissed-off Huitzilopochtli after the chariot interrupted his fight with Coyolxauhqui.

"Who the hell are you?"

"I should probably be asking you the same question, seeing as you just appeared out of the sky."

"I'm the sun, Huitzilopochtli. You just messed up my daily deadly fight with my older sister, Coyolxauhqui, the moon. I didn't even have time to decapitate her right this time, it probably hurt a lot more, asshole."
