Fucking Hate The "well It's Not Technically Marriage Inequality That Disabled People Can't Get Married
fucking hate the "well it's not technically marriage inequality that disabled people can't get married without losing their benefits because no one's stopping you from getting married" yeah something is stopping us from getting married. Loss of medical care. Homelessness. Hunger. Death. I don't know how to tell you this but SSI is not a thing that you get because you could technically get a job but you don't feel like it. The process is awful, it's dehumanizing and it can take years even if you're clearly disabled. If you can work you do work, and if you can't work you can't afford to lose your "benefits". It's eugenics plain and simple, it came from a time where you could only fuck if you were married and they wanted to de-incentivize disabled people from fucking so we would stop existing.

it's looking really fucking bad. tennessee is my home. it's a beautiful state full of beautiful diverse communities. all of us, cis or trans will be effected by this negatively. if you're not fighting to protect trans southerners then you need to start.

Okay besties I know I'm not usually online at this time but I just saw something that gave me so much anxiety that I can't do my homework and it's important that as many people know about this as possible
I just found out that on April 4th (literally yesterday in my time zone), Governor Brad Little signed a bill that made it a felony for any doctor to help a child seek gender-affirming care in Idaho. That means that I, a trans person about to turn 14, can't get gender-affirming care for about another 4 years if this bill remains. I don't know if I can wait that long, especially with the thoughts I've been having due to dysphoria. I can't even begin to imagine what it could be like for other trans youth. I don't know if there is anything that I can do about this, but if there is, please let me know, and if anyone sees this please reblog so that more people can be informed about this. My heart goes out to all trans youth living in Idaho in these rough times
