This is a day that's absolutely saturated with cultural and generational trauma for us. It's okay to feel anger and grief and confusion today, and it's okay to express that. It doesn't matter that we weren't around to see the events transpire. We're still feeling the trauma in our bones. You aren't being dramatic or overreactive, and you are not alone.

I have a cousin who was assaulted and someone she met at a support group was taken advantage of by her older brother and got pregnant. Its awful and she's only 17, half her family is siding with the brother. I don't understand how people can be so awful and still think they're right. Shes raising money for the medical bills so she can get it taken care of but is having little luck. Her parents are refusing to help and kicked her out so she had to move in with her grandparents.

She is needing help fast and my cousin asked if I could make a post on here to try and help raise money for her friend since last time we raised the money in less then a week . I told her I'd try and get as much to help as possible even if we can't raise the whole $540 hopefully we can get something to help her. Im adding a link to a pool on paypal for anyone who would like to contribute. Don't worry if you're unable to donate or only have a few dollars anything helps and even just sharing is appreciated. Sydney has my PayPal info so if you donate and leave a message she'll be able to read them.

‘Temporary’ Names

Vet clinics often have litters of kittens to raise. Either they’re too young for a shelter, too sickly, or the clinic intends to adopt them out when they’re big enough. Whatever the reason, nurses often end up raising kittens and giving them ‘temporary’ names. 

The intention of these temporary names is that if you give the kitten a stupid name, you have something to call it other than ‘the middle black male’, but because it’s a stupid name you wont get emotionally attached and end up keeping it. Again. 

Which is how some nurses end up with cats that have names like ‘Flea bus’ and ‘Trash bag’.
