Dyanna Tully and her Knight Gwayne Hightower Mood board
âDuring the Dance of the Dragons, Dyanna Tully was said to be very close with Queen Alicent Hightower's brother, Gwayne. The knight was always by her side like a shadow and devoted himself to her completely. Some whispered there was something more between the two.â

Long Live the King
Summary: King Viserys the 1st was found murdered in chambers, while there were many theories no one truly knows what occurred that dark night
Warning: Murder, stabbing, heavy Viserys bashing
Words: 949
A/N: I wrote it after all; inspired by Murder on the Orient Express
It was past the hour of the wolf. The cold stone walls of the Red Keep stood stiff against the harsh wind. The windows didnât tremble. There were no footsteps pattering against the floors. Not even the mice squeaked in their corners. Everything was quiet.
The maesters had been dismissed from the royal chambers. The king was sleeping soundly on milk of the poppy.
A soft creak came from inside his chambers. The wall shifted. From behind it, a passage opened. Twelve silent feet stepped inside the room. They approached the kingâs bedside. Two were on his right, two on his left, and two standing at the edge. They each stared at the man, who was blissfully unaware of what was going to take place.
One of them brought forward a rag. Slowly, she unraveled it, revealing the dagger within. Her brown eyes shifted toward the person beside her. Princess Rhaenyra met her gaze and gave a small nod in response.
Queen Alicent looked at those present. All four of her children and her former friend watched. She glanced down at the man who was her husband. She thought of every moment of their marriage. There was no happiness to be found. The only happiness was the children made from their union and even they were devastated by Viserysâ hand. She thought of every summon to his chambers, every time he called her the wrong name, every time he ignored their children, and every time he had the gall to say he cared for his family. She raised the dagger then swiftly pierced it into his chest. No words came from his lips, and none ever would.
She took out the dagger and handed it to Rhaenyra. Her former friend passed it to Aegon. His face was stern, but his eyes were clouded in anger. He grabbed the dagger and without hesitation rammed it into his fatherâs heart. Aegonâs mouth contorted into a scowl. He leaned forward into his fatherâs ear and whispered â, Am I good enough now, Father?â
He ripped away the blade and placed it into Helaenaâs delicate hands. She stared at the dagger closely. Her eyes flickered between it and the dying man. Her face was solemn as she drove the dagger into his body. Her children would miss their grandsire, but she wouldnât. She was nothing to him and now he was nothing to her.
Aemond was given the dagger by his sister. He looked at the man with disgust. With his free hand, he ripped off his eye patch. His missing eye serving a reminder to those present and the corpse of how he had gotten to this point. He wished the man was awake to see him, to see what the man had taken from him, and the consequences of his actions. He lifted the blade over his head and stabbed him in his heart. Rage burned inside of him as he whispered â, This is your doing, old man.â
The dagger was passed along to Daeron. The young manâs usual charming smile was gone and was replaced with a bitter expression. He remembered how he was ripped away from his family and sent to live years away in Oldtown. He remembered how he wasnât there for what on Driftmark, he wasnât there for his siblingsâ wedding, and he wasnât there for his niece and nephewsâ births. No, he was robbed of it all. He pierced his fatherâs chest with the dagger. A grim smile on his face. âIâll see you in the Seven Hells.â
The last was Rhaenyra. She steadily took the dagger in her hands. She glanced it over. It was the same dagger her father had shown her when he first spoke to her of the prophecy. The prince that was promised. A woman with a sweet smile and tired gaze floated into her mind. The children she was forced to bear for his prophecy. She sneered. Rhaenyra raised the dagger as her cold eyes glared at him. âThis is for my mother.â
The blade was shoved into his chest. Her grip tightened on the weapon as she pulled it out of his bleeding body. However, she was not done. The princess raised the dagger one more time. Her eyes bore into him with rage. The pain he put her through only to have the nerve to call her his favorite child. âAnd this is for me.â
The dagger struck his body. Rhaenyra swore she heard something snap. A bone probably. Alicent glanced at her, pity in her eyes. Rhaenyra gently let go of the weapon, allowing Alicent to take it out. The Queen wiped the blood off with the kingâs bed sheets then set the dagger down on his nightstand. There was no need to carry it around and risk being caught.
Alicent felt her hands shake when her hands were emptyâthe weight of what they did settling. A single tear slipped out. Not for Viserys, it was for the fact it had come to this. Her children and former friend had committed kinslaying and all of them committed the sin of kingslaying. They had cursed themselves because of him.
Rhaenyra noticed her change in demeanor and reached out her hand. Alicent took it. The princess interlocked their arms together and led the queen back to the tunnels. Aemond, Helaena, and Daeron followed them. Aegon didnât spare another glance and closed the false wall behind him. For tonight, they werenât enemies but instead were united by one goal. When the morning came, they would go back to the way things wereâthe unspoken promise to never speak about what happened in the Kingâs chambers that night.
