Jaehaera Targaryen - Tumblr Posts
As someone who has family members who are neurodivergent and have special needs, seeing people say that it was “probably for the best” that Jaehaera died because of the way she was is disgusting beyond words. I don’t care what team you root for its called having empathy for a human being, a child at that

Jaehaera Targaryen Aesthetic
One of the two “Little Queens”
Can’t wait for her to show up in my fic🥰

A Small Piece I wrote
It had been more than a couple of years into their marriage. Jaehaera had given birth to their third child, a girl that she named Daena. "Do you love me?" Jaehaera had asked him. This caught him off guard. Whatever he had been thinking of was long gone. “What?” He said like a fool. “We’ve been married now for ten and two years. I’ve already given you two sons, your future heirs. Yet, you still accompany me wherever I go, you still invite me to your small council meetings, you still choose to eat with me, and you still choose to visit me…in the night.” A soft blushing crept onto his face. “Yes. I do.” “Why?” Aegon stared at his wife. He assumed it was obvious. Viserys was right, he was terrible with emotions. “Do you love me?” “I do.” He nodded. Jaehaera watched him, he couldn't tell what she was thinking. Her pale eyes observed him with thin lips, not curved neither upward nor downward. Her face was neutral in every sense of the word. “Oh.” Was all she said. Aegon stood there. Waiting. A minute of silence went by. “Is that it?” He inquired. “You wanted to know if I loved you? But you haven't said how you feel. Do you love me?” Her eyes widened slightly. Clearly, she wasn’t expecting the question. She opened her soft lips. “I do.” “When did you realize it?” He felt like a child asking but then again they were both children when they married. “Years ago. And you?” For a moment he allowed himself to smile. “Years ago.” He lowered his eyes in shame. “Why did we allow ourselves to live without ever speaking of these things? We are husband and wife after all.” Jaehaera took his hands in hers. “Because you and I are not like others. We don’t need to speak to understand each other, we love each other in silence. Our love doesn’t have to be a great song of passion and fury. We can have our quiet, gentle love all to ourselves. That’s how I prefer it anyway.” Aegon intertwined their fingers as he leaned in and kissed his Queen.
She would 100% ask him if he would still love her if she was a worm. Also, I wrote this at 1 AM

Aegon the Third when he thinks about Jaehaera:
Aegon the Third and Jaehaera Headcanons
🚩Some Angst🚩
Nothing happened on their wedding night. Aegon cried after everything that happened and Jaehaera stared blankly off into space
When they found out Jaehaera was with child she was fine and relatively unsurprised, he was terrified (pacing, nausea, hyperventilating, "will I be a good father????", etc)
Aegon cried tears of joy when he was handed his first child, Daeron, and Jaehaera smiled for the first time in years
Many are confused by their relationship as it is known that Aegon visits Jaehaera often but in public, they are very distant, this is just because neither likes public affection
Whenever their children have nightmares, they sleep in bed with Aegon and Jaehaera
Aegon knows when Jaehaera is upset because she "shuts down" and disassociates. He is one of the few who can tell and tries to bring her back by gently reminding her where they are
Similarly, Jaehaera is one of the few who can calm down Aegon when he has panic attacks. She always takes him away from others because of how he must be seen as a strong king. Her husband is left frustrated by these episodes but she reminds him that he's still just a man who mourns like everyone else
Aegon and Jaehaera very rarely talk about the war and what happened to them during that time. However, they are open with each other about what happened in that period. Aegon knows about her fear of ratcatchers, and Jaehaera knows about his fear of dragons. They both support the other and never cast blame
Aegon and Jaehaera frequent the weirwood in the Red Keep whenever they want to spend time together alone, additionally, they go to the Kingswood but they bring their children along on these particular trips
Aegon ordered that Jaehaera be made silver and golden hair accessories that look like butterflies because she is fond of them
Jaehaera likes to read beside Aegon even if he is not reading with her, she enjoys going into his office and sitting beside him with her book while he reads matters of the realm
Aegon loves Jaehaera's laugh and because of how rare it is, he savors hearing it
Jaehaera tends to reach out to Aegon with her hands more than words and her finger often wanders to intertwine with his
Aegon and Jaehaera realized they loved each other in different ways. Aegon realized it after he noticed Jaehaera did small things for him and eventually began to feel his heart beating faster around her. Jaehaera realized it when Aegon would spend hours of his time with her even when she never spoke and eventually wanted to go out of her way to be around him.

Night Talks
Angst and Spoilers for HOTD/Fire & Blood
The Kingswood gleamed under the moonlight. She could hear the gentle crickets in their nighttime ballad across the grass. The cool breeze passed by her bare feet as she trudged forward. She found him quickly enough. He sat beside a tree in front of the creak. Jaehaera was going to ask him about his odd midnight journey until she saw his shoulders shaking. A sound came out of his throat. It was deep and strangled. She said nothing. Instead grabbing onto one of the low-hanging tree branches, she set herself down beside him. He noticed her then. “Jaehaera.” He wiped his face. “I’m sorry did I wake you?” She shook her head. He sniffed, trying to pull himself together. “I’m sorry, you shouldn't see me like this. I’ll walk you back to the Keep.” “Aegon…” “Here let me help you.” “Aegon.” “Come on let me help you”, he insisted. Jaehaera stared at him. “Egg. Egg look at me.” Reluctantly he lifted his eyes. The usual violets had clear tears swimming in them. “You shouldn’t see me like this”, he whispered. “A king shouldn’t cry.” She reached out her hand, a silent invitation. He took it. “I just needed to be alone. It was becoming too much inside there.” “What happened?” She asked softly. The tears threatened to fall. “I had a nightmare. I remembered her…and what happened that day.” His free hand gripped his own hair. “It felt like I was a child again just standing there useless and helpless as I watched her burn. I couldn't breathe, I felt like I was dying by being in those walls where so much pain happened. I didn't want you to see me. I didn't want you to worry, especially with the baby.” Jaehaera rubbed her stomach. A small lump formed in her throat. “You worry me more by disappearing. I would understand, Egg.” “No.” He shook his head. “I couldn’t do anything. She died because I couldn't do anything.” Jaehaera tilted her head. “In that case, could I have saved my brother? If I had tried could I have stopped those men from killing Jaehaerys?” Aegon’s eyes widened at her. “No, Jaehaera, you shouldn't say that.” “I was a child, as were you. What could we have done? We were both left alone because of a terrible war. Something neither of us could have stopped. It was already left in the hands of the fates before we were even born.” Aegon sat beside her, his gaze was on the creak. “Then why can't I move on? I’m one of the last that was left alive yet I’m still as pathetic as I was then.” Jaehaera rubbed his hand with her thumb. “You are a good king but you are still just a man. A man who has a heart. I’m glad that the war didn’t take that away from you. We both know what it is like to be left broken. Mourn Egg. You are safe to mourn in front of me.” Aegon leaned against her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, careful to not put pressure on the child in her belly. She ran her fingers through his hair. They stayed there for a while.
Another one of my late-night pieces and I was feeling angsty
An Analysis of Aegon Targaryen ll's relationship with family from my fic that no one asked for
(Obviously, this is my take on Aegon based on my own fic, also kind of spoilers if you haven't read)
For the first 13 years of his life, Aegon really couldn't care too much about Helaena, he just saw her as his weird little sister. There were moments of love such as when he handed her a beetle in Driftmark but those were few and far between.
"He passively stretched out his hand, demonstrating a black beetle. Helaena looked as if she wanted to jump in place. She excitedly took the creature from Aegon’s hand and caressed its shell. (1)"
However, something happened in Driftmark that changed him forever. Aemond lost his eye. And Aegon failed to save his brother because he was drunk.
Aegon seemingly understood and put down his goblet. “Very well, but I’ll be drinking some fine wine later tonight. (1)”
Up until that point, Aegon tolerated his siblings but now his own carelessness had resulted in Aemond being hurt. His protectiveness toward his siblings was triggered that night.
"Aegon’s face darkened. His shoulders tensed as he clenched his jaw. Aemond had rarely seen his brother so upset. “That’s not fair! Jace called Aemond a Green!” Aegon suddenly spoke out. (2)"
Now as a grown man, Aegon has stopped drinking. He is married to Helaena and they have twins. He loves his children but retains feelings of self-hatred that sometimes come out in his interactions with them.
"Jaehaerys who was born first had Helaena’s lilac eyes. Meanwhile, Jaehaera who was born next had his eyes. The color was just a shade darker, but he could tell from the moment he saw her. He didn’t know what to feel when he saw those eyes. Her smile was her mother’s, but he regretted that his blood gave her his eyes.(3)"
He loves Jaehaera but she unfortunately inherited his eyes and he hates that. He adores his daughter and despises that she took on his features. He doesn't see himself in the greatest light and her looking like him crushes him because he feels she shouldn't look like him. Jaehaera is sweet, innocent, and good which Aegon feels he is not.
His relationship with Helaena is also complex. Given that he was raised alongside her and surrounded by the traditional Targaryen beliefs, he was aware that siblings married but he didn't think they would. Aegon has always seen Helaena as his little sister in the non-Targaryen way. Even after they married (for reasons I can't spoil yet) Aegon still sees her as his sister, not a romantic partner. Due to his protectiveness following Driftmark, he will sometimes display what others think are romantic gestures.
"With his other hand, he cupped her cheek.(3)"
"Aegon took her hand and cradled it.(3)"
However, he simply does these things platonically. In the example of his holding her hand, he knows Helaena likes certain physical gestures. And with his touch of her cheek, it's his trying to snap her out of her dragon dreams because she goes into a dissociative state. While they clearly have evidence of their consummation, Aegon can't see her as his wife. The idea of her being his wife is simply a title to him. While he realistically does recognize that they are married, to him she's his sister first. An example of this is when they briefly talk about their wedding.
“That child may have grown but he still cares about his little sister.(3)”
He purposely calls her "his little sister" and not "his wife". It could be seen as a way of him putting a distance between them but that's not the case to Aegon. To him, loving Helaena as a sister is more meaningful than loving her as a wife and this goes into Aegon's own issues with the idea of romantic partners in general.
When he was thirteen years old Aegon and his family were forced to flee King's Landing, effectively becoming traitors. Since then, he has been running for six years of his life only surrounded by his two brothers, younger sister, and mother. Due to this, he’s never truly developed a bond with someone outside his family. If he ever possibly began to care for someone romantically it wouldn’t have lasted. Aegon knew that because of how often his family has to move around he didn't try to develop any other relationships. To him, love was never a realistic option. Helaena is the closest he’ll ever have to that type of bond but as previously mentioned he doesn't feel that way with her. Despite this, he takes his marriage with Helaena seriously.
“I promised you that when we took our vows.(3)”
In conclusion, Aegon is a complicated person and things will only get more complicated when the dance begins. No one asked for this but I love explaining characters.

A/N: I swear everything I write about these two happens at 1 AM
Aegon was sitting in another small council meeting. He was unsure of where his mind was until he noticed the trembling in his hands. His eyes shifted toward the man with pale hair seated beside him. Aegon leaned close to him and whispered one instruction into his ear.
“Get my wife, now.”
Aegon wasn’t sure what happened next. He was sure that he ordered his lords out of the council meeting. Somewhere there he heard himself yelling because they weren't leaving fast enough. He was curled up on the floor when an argument broke outside the council room.
“The king said to let her in,” Gaemon’s voice rose against someone else.
“A maester is better suited to help his grace,” someone responded.
“Let her in,” Aegon ordered from his place in the corner.
“But your grace what can she do that a maester can’t?” Someone dared ask.
Aegon snapped “, I’m not asking for a maester am I, my lord? I’m asking for my fucking wife.”
The doors were opened. Aegon lifted his eyes up. Gaemon walked inside and following closely was Jaehaera. She turned back to Gaemon and asked him something. His friend responded before closing the door behind him. The noise outside the council room seemed to move away.
“Aegon, I’m here.” She moved toward his side. “I asked Ser Gaemon to take the lords away.”
His hands were shaking. She grabbed them.
“It’s alright, it's just the two of us now.”
His eyes wavered. Jaehaera sat beside him on the floor.
“What do you need me to do?” She asked.
The pounding in his ears was still prevalent. He couldn’t focus well on her voice.
“Do you want me to get you something?” “No.” He shook his head. “Please just stay with me.”
Jaehaera nodded. She shifted to position herself in front of him. Gently she cupped his face.
He leaned forward and nestled his face into her neck. His arm reached back and pulled her close. He was terrified that she would freeze or become limp in his grasp. If he scared her away, he wouldn’t forgive himself.
His thoughts went silent when her fingers ran through his hair. That was all it took for him to begin to cry. He hated himself at that moment, how quickly he broke and turned into a hysterical child. This was the king of the seven kingdoms. Pathetic, he thought to himself.
Jaehaera stroked his hair while he sobbed into her embrace. He thanked the Gods for the patience they gave his wife as she said nothing until he slowly stopped. She held him at that point. The smell of her skin reminded him of the wildflowers in the Godswood. The soft beating of her heart was the only thing he heard. Tear stains formed on the neckline of her dress. He felt guilty when he noticed.
“Are you alright?” She asked in a quiet voice.
He managed a nod against her skin.
“Do you wish to speak about it?”
He remained silent. That said enough.
“Do you want water, Egg?” She paused a moment. “Do mind if I call you Egg?”
“You already have,” he pointed out. “I don’t mind.”
“I simply don’t want to call you something you don’t like.”
“Jaehaera, we’ve been married for years and have a child, you can call me whatever you please.”
“Just being sure, my lord husband.”
“Never mind any name except that. I hate that,” he said bluntly.
“How quickly you change your mind, my lord.” There was a hint of amusement in her tone.
Aegon lifted his head up, looking her in the eyes. “Don’t call me that either. Don’t call me anything to do with my station or title. You’re not below me, you just saw a king cry after all.”
Jaehaera brushed away the dried tears on his cheeks.
Aegon sniffled. “Thank you.”
“Of course, you called.”
“Not that. Thank you for staying.”
Jaehaera smiled. “I always will.”
Aegon remembered the memories that set him off earlier. Memories from the war…of them.
“Don’t make promises you aren’t sure you’ll keep,” he whispered.
She seemingly noticed his change in demeanor and leaned closer. “I’m staying Aegon, now and until the end.”
Aegon found himself agreeing. Just them now and until the end.
I like to think that this is a first step to them getting close to each other and only a few others like Gaemon are aware of Aegon's panic attacks

A Question
Summary: A question brings up old feelings and pain
Pairing: Aegon the 3rd Targaryen x Jaehaera Targaryen
Warning: Mild angst, small spoilers for Fire and Blood/HOTD
Words: 743
A/N: I wrote this one exactly one night apart from my previous Aegon x Jaehera fic and again at 1 AM
The drawing room was quiet. In the corner, a small child sat on the floor kicking her feet in the air while reading through her book. Elaena suddenly looked up at her with her shy lilac eyes. “Did you ever have a dragon mama?”
Jaehaera paused. Her hand froze right above the quill she had gone to reach. A beat of silence passed.
“Father had a dragon, did you?” Her daughter asked with the innocence of the five-year-old child she was.
“I did,” Jaehaera answered.
Elaena smiled, her arms tightening around the egg she held. “What was it like, having a dragon?”
Jaehaera gave a sad smile. “It was a feeling like no other. The bond one experiences with a dragon is a powerful thing.”
“Did you ride your dragon?” Elaena inquired.
Jaehaera dropped her hand to her side. “No, I never got to.”
Elaena tilted her head in confusion. “Why not?”
“I was too young at the time.”
Elaena glanced down at her egg and then back to her. “What was your dragon’s name mama?”
Jaehaera could still remember the dark scales and small horns of her dragon when she last went to the Dragonpit, before it was destroyed. “Morghul. His name was Morghul.”
Elaena had yet to notice the sad tone in her voice and pet her egg. Jaehaera cleared her throat, pushing down whatever emotions threatened to come out.
“Why do you ask, my love?”
Elaena frowned. “Papa doesn’t like talking about his dragon.”
“Your father loved his dragon, it is just a bit painful for him to talk about the subject,” she assured.
Elaena hugged her egg tighter. “Do you think he’ll be mad if my egg hatches?”
“No, my love, of course not.”
Jaehaera reached out and pushed away a strand of golden hair. Her daughter smiled.
Her husband was in his office reading documents when Jaehaera walked in. He lifted his nose out of the papers when she sat across from his desk.
“I looked at the lords’ petitions and wrote an answer to the Lady of Storm’s End. Then I was interrupted by Elaena.”
Aegon gave a rare smile. “What was our youngest up to now?”
Jaehaera shifted her gaze away from him. “She asked me about when I was younger and when I had… a dragon.”
She could almost hear his fingers tighten around the paper. She could hear the moment his hands set down the documents. Despite what many thought, her husband didn’t fear dragons, it was something deeper than that.
“Elaena only asked because she was curious about what it was like to bond with one, to fly with one, those things.” Jaehaera intertwined her fingers. “She wants one.”
“I’m aware,” Aegon responded without any particular emotion.
Jaehaera sighed. “Forgive me, I probably didn’t help the matter. I told her that having a dragon was unlike anything else in this world.”
“I’ve known that Elaena has wanted a dragon for a while now…but is she the only one?”
Jaehaera looked up at her husband. “What do you mean?”
Aegon’s features were serious, but his eyes were gentle. “Jaehaera, I’ve married to you long enough to know the sadness in your eyes.”
She wearily chuckled. “Says you.”
“The Dragonpit was destroyed but the Dragonmount wasn’t,” he stated. “I can have them bring you an egg if you wish.”
While his words were true, her husband looked uncomfortable. The idea and its implication made him uneasy.
Jaehaera shook her head vigorously. “No,” she stated firmly.
“Jaehaera, what about what you said?”
“I didn’t lie. Having a dragon is unlike anything else in this world, however, there was only one dragon for me. It was Morghul. He is gone now, and I will never ride the skies but that is fine with me because he was the only one, I would ever choose to take flight with.”
Aegon stared at her.
“I know you feel the same about Stormcloud.”
Aegon lowered his gaze though he reached out his hand to grab hers. Jaehaera took it. He brought it up to his lips and kissed her knuckles.
“I’m sorry for bringing it up,” she apologized.
“We’re the house of the dragon, it was inevitable,” he said.
“You would truly have given me an egg?” She asked incredulously.
“If it made you happy, then yes. On the condition it stayed outside.” He kissed her knuckles again. Jaehaera intertwined their fingers together. She was content with where they were.
Everyone shut up and look at this. Grandma and her grandkids😭😭😭

HOTD could have done the funniest thing ever and not shown us Aegon leaving with Larys so that Alicent makes her deal with Rhaenyra then returns to the Red Keep…only to find that not only is Aegon not there but neither is Helaena or Jaehaera. Like all that in their conversation about keeping her daughter safe only for Helaena to (kind of reasonably) abandon ship with her child and husband.
