had to jump on the trend, made a few. enjoy
girl who gives her life to the narrative
anyway, picture this - the greatest football player of all time celebrates his world cup win on the shoulders of his best friend who had to tragically retire from professional football last year because of a heart defect.
the night before the final match, despite it not being allowed or ever done, he convinces his retired friend to spend the night in their hotel room. for old times sake. because he feels calmer, better, more settled with him there.
on the pitch, after an incredible game full of ups and downs, the greatest player of all time falls to his knees. his best friend runs to him from the stands. seeing him standing there is the only time he allows himself to cry.
now, you say, wait a minute. that's so melodramatic, it's just not realistic for something like that to happen.
and yet! it happened tonight! fucking football, man, you can't beat it for the narrative.
I feel like at least some jocks are just autistic people with a special interest in sports.
trope subversion of the poor unfortunate dude who just wants to make friends gets possessed by the supernatural in csm part 2 by the fact that the poor unfortunate dude is asa mitaka

shojo manga reboot of yugioh where anzu is the main character, and she gets the millennium ring with the ghost of mana in it
i always say this but one thing i love about yugioh is that it’s a love story. not necessarily in the traditional romantic sense but it’s a love story to oneself. it’s about growth and becoming a better person than the one you were yesterday through shared passion and friendship
yugioh is about learning to know yourself and through that learning to love yourself, yugioh is about being different, it’s about being weird, it’s about not fitting in to the status quo and not having to fit in because there’s a place for you somewhere and there’s people who love you
yugioh is a love story and that’s beautiful
okay ANOTHER thing… the fan response to the school event still makes me so annoyed lmfao. like everyone became such a mai h8r, not me tho… she’s a fave… even without the pre culling game scenes where the writing comes full circle for maki’s character (gege’s best writing!) when mai has her flashback and she’s scared because she can see curses and her sister takes her hand. and then when maki leaves and mai says that maki is a liar and that she hates her. ppl watched/read that and took it at face value? how can you see maki leave the zenin clan, tell them that she is coming back to become the head, AFTER seeing her lead her scared sister fearlessly, their father talking about how much he hates them for being girls and twins; and perceive that as sisters attempting to best each other or a silly power grab. “maki can pull herself by the bootstraps” type fans… annoying! and Mai upset after their match saying that she never wanted to become a sorcerer, mai was just following maki only for mai to become defensive because she perceived maki’s choice as maki choosing to leave her... like how does maki not read as anything but a sister who cares deeply to viewers/readers…
i like that gege sprinkles all of these things that exist in opposition or just incompatible with the overt lines a main character will be saying. like the protagonists are not all knowing of jujutsu society, in fact the first year tokyo students seem pretty ignorant of all of the structural aspects. anyway i am glad that even though mai went to school to be like “fine i can leave you too!” she got a really good support system, peers who care about her, and met todo lmfao ☠️ i’m positive that normal girl miwa, prankster momo, and whatever is going on w todo brought out the best in her. kyoto students are all bestieees. i would like to think mai was genuinely happy as a kyoto student!
anyway the sisters are not trying to “prove” themselves or trying to “best” one another. there is no “rivalry”, and all of their objectives are about how much they love each other and all that comes with having to rely on only each other in a chauvinist traditionalist secluded community. as well as the emotional response (in mai’s case) to being abandoned. this is even without the pre culling games scenes but it certainly helps confirm it!
year 3000. naruto is dead. zoruto, the son of poruto, who was the son of coruto, who was the son of goruto, who was the son of boruto, who was the son of naruto, now has an anime. ‘zoruto is gonna…be better than poruto’ kishimoto assures, at age 1026.
if light just said he was gay and swapped out the porno mags for GAY porno mags he would have gotten away with everything, i believe that with my entire being
“why does he have so much to hide” gay, next question. “why does he act so strange around L sometimes” gay, next question. “why is he so perfect and meticulous” gay, next question.

we should treat women the same way we treat men yes this is my pathetic meow meow i'm gonna shake her violently in a pringles can
au where matt’s priest doesnt know who daredevil is he just knows this masked man comes into his church and cries about his feelings multiple times a week and the priest gets sick of it so he sues daredevil for emotional damages and matt murdock is his lawyer
i’m interested in why people actually want mai to be a sorcerer. like they genuinely want her to grow to love to job. it feels like an unusual path for her to take, especially from what we know from mai and maki’s dynamic, so it feel likes people would want her to react to her situation in a way maki would rather how mai actually would.
