Whos The Swim Pro Now?

warnings. foul language, uh, STRANGER THINGS S4 SPOILERS OMG I FORGOT SORRY

ricky rocks. stranger things rebirth ☝️

five people in one canoe—this was not a smart idea. you realized this now as you were practically tipping into the waters of lovers lake, watching dustin, lucas, and max grow smaller and smaller from the shore line as eddie and robin paddle you all further and further into the blue.

how you ended up in this position—you weren’t exactly sure but it all started with chasing down a news story for the hawkins high school paper, something you honestly should have stayed out of.

you sat in the middle of the boat, watching the waves slowly splash against the side, implementing cold weather to consume you. this wasn’t the way you imagined to spend your spring break, but you also never imagined to come in contact with steve harrington ever again.

“woah, woah, slow down guys,” nancy reached out causing both eddie and robin to stop paddling the boat, all of you now looking to her where she held the compass and it’s now derange state; shaking in the palm of her hand.

you watched the needle spin so fast it looked as if it would break off, making you narrow your brows. you watched until you looked to meet nancy’s eyes; she was smiling.

“what’s going on guys, why’d you stop?” your ears perked up to the sound of dustin’s voice through the forgotten walkie that sat in the back.

robin quickly grabbed it, “uh, dustin your compass has gone wonky to wonky with a capitol ‘ahh’.”

you all looked back to it before watching steve begin to unlace his shoes.

“wait, steve, what’re you doing?”

“somebody’s gotta go down there and check this out,” he explained. “unless one of you four can top being a hawkins high swim co-captain and a certified lifeguard for three years, then… it’s gotta be me. no complaints, all right?”

you watched him, your expression still tight with practically confused thoughts. steve now stood, beginning to take off his shirt.

“co-captain of the swim team, my ass. sit down harrington, and watch a pro go to work.”

he stared down to you hesitantly, eyeing you up and down, taken aback at this sudden proposition. he almost didn’t believe the challenging stare you had, but he shrugged, deciding why not and knowing you wouldn’t take no for an answer, “okay, y/l/n, show us what you got.”

you took his place in stance, now unzipping your jacket to reveal a plain tank top that barely laid over your stomach before running your thumbs around the waistband of your jeans.

“woah, don’t tell me you’re just gonna-”

“relax,” you gave eddie a pointed look before pulling down your pants, revealing the pair of boxers you wore for shorts. “ever heard of layering?”

he seemed to shy away at this after a clear exhale of relief came from the group, glad to know you weren’t about to reveal your bare ass.

“see you on the other side,” you looked between all four of them before tipping your head and turning, diving precisely into the cold waters of lovers lake.

it knocked the breath out of you almost immediately and you began to regret wanting to show up steve with volunteering yourself. it had been quite a long time since you had put your swimming skills to test due to quitting the swim team after freshman year.

but it was now or never to freshen up.

you kicked, praying your lungs wouldn’t collapse once you began to see the bottom of the lake floor and came to realization you’d now have to search with the factor that you couldn’t see a foot in front of you… and without a flash light.

stupid.

you mentally punched yourself but continued surfing the sandy floor, your skin now beginning to become accustomed to the cold water with each kick.

and it wasn’t long until you saw it.

it was almost beautiful if you weren’t scared. the glowing mash of colors of red and yellow and orange erupted into the dark blue, lighting up your vision.

you felt consumed.

**

“can’t believe you let her show you up like that,” eddie pulled a cigarette from his pocket, beginning to light it. “not typical of you steve harrington.”

“gross,” robin pulled it from his grasp before tossing it into the water. “bad habit, better stop now.”

he sighed, not even trying to stop it.

“yeah, well, it’s y/n.”

“you’ve known her?” nancy quirked a brow, the sound of his sentence sounding like your nature was nothing new to him and he was very familiar with it. she found this strange, she thought you and steve had only met that day, but it begun to make sense why the atmosphere always seemed so tense and awkward between you two.

“yeah, for awhile,” steve shrugged, like there was nothing to it, like there wasn’t as much history as there actually was. “used to be neighbors before she moved. she was my best friend for the longest time, always came over.”

the sound of waves slapping against the boat was the only thing that filled the air now.

steve thought about how close the two of you were. you were both inseparable and could never take a moment apart. you were the reason he learned poker and knew how to play it so well.

you taught him a lot of things—something he was slightly shameful about. every time he looked back on those memories, he couldn’t help but feel guilty for never reviving the relationship.

and then he thought about the day you moved out due to your parents divorce and how you both thought nothing of it, that it wouldn’t effect your relationship at all, until it did.

you hadn’t seen steve for a long time after that and when you finally did—not a word was said between the two of you and he barely even waved ‘hi’.

it didn’t get any better after that.

“hey uh, it’s been awhile, should we-“

you surfaced through the water fast, practically knocking eddie into the water with you due to him already being leaned over the side. you were gasping for air, your chest heaving up and down as you grabbed onto the side of the boat, looking for some version of stability.

“jesus, since when can you hold your breath that long.”

“you’re not the only life guard here, steve-o,” he chokes out a breathy laugh, almost in relief, his hand grabbing onto your forearm to keep ahold of you.

“what’d you see?”

“are you alright?”

“yeah, i’m fine, pull me up,” you attempted to haul yourself up as they all pulled you onto the boat. “it’s there and it’s a portal right through.”

“did you go through?”

“no,” you shook your head, “but-“

you’re suddenly pulled into the water, your body once again consumed by the cold water and you’re blind. you can’t see and you can barely catch your breath as a strong force pulls you back to the bottom, and finally right through the gate.

and you don’t remember any of it, not one bit, you don’t think you were even conscious; until steve’s hands are clasping your face and lightly shaking you back to consciousness. he’s cold and he’s wet, but in your splitting vision, you can see him slightly smile in relief that you were alive.

“thank god,” he sighed, leaning back a little before leaning back down, pressing his forehead into your shoulder. “y/n, you scared the shit out of me,” he pulls back away, shaking his head, almost as if saying you were unbelievable. “no more trying to prove your pro-swimming skills.”

you laughed, painfully, suddenly becoming aware of the aching sensation that resonated from your throat, “god, harrington,” you begun to sit up, your hand clasping the cut that was etched into your skin. “when are you going to just accept that i’m better a swimmer than you.”

he laughs tentatively, now helping you to your feet, “maybe when this monster-alien bull crap is over,” his hand is wrapped around your waist, steadying you on your feet, while his other one held your hand, “god, i thought i lost you.”

“i’m fine, steve,” you looked at him with sympathy, your head slightly leaning closer to him. “i’m good, i’m alive.”

“yeah, i’d find that a lot more reassuring if your throat didn’t look like it was slit.”

“what even happened?”

“story for another time,” robin clapped the both of your shoulders suddenly, “and if we want to live long enough to tell it, we gotta get going. kiss later.”

the two of you now looked to each other, both burning up in slight embarrassment and now becoming very aware of how close the two of you were.

you awkwardly cough, slightly shifting back and slowly following robin with a backward step, “guess this calls for a rain check, what do you say harrington?”

“i say you’re fucking crazy.”

Perfect Match.

warnings. gif not mine, foul language maybe

ricky rocks. send me an inbox message 🫶🫶

steve always felt like he was trapped in his own body after his world got flipped upside down when unexplainable things invaded hawkins as well as his own life and getting into college was no longer his biggest problem.

—and of course, when nancy broke up with him. and what was once home, was now just a shell that carried him around from one place to another.

everything he found fun before didn’t strike him with the same excitement. he suddenly became hyper aware of everything and where his life seemed to be heading toward; which wasn’t bad, just something nobody really wants—a cookie cutter life that resembled exactly his parents.

until he met you.

you were a lot different compared to a lot of girls he had met and put himself into social situations with. you were smart, sarcastic, witty, and actually had things going for you; hobbies, a job, things that mattered in the long run.

you were exactly what steve needed—according to dustin. and he wasn’t wrong; steve just wished he had realized that a lot sooner.

“harrington, i didn’t realize you still came to parties,” the first time he really saw you was when you were leaned on your forearms as you came to fill your red solo cup with the red punch placed on the island as an offering to all. steve stood on the other side, staring off into space while thinking he should have never came until your slight sweet smile came into sight.

“yeah, me too,” he sighed, sounding sorrowful as he took a drink from his own solo cup, trying to pay attention to who was speaking to him—he almost thought it was his own conscious reminding him there were better things to be doing.

“you’re too cool for all this now?”

“something like that.”

you hummed, finishing up the pouring of the punch. you had honestly hoped to get more out of him, but his mouth was practically a steel trap and he didn’t seem exactly present, so you walked off with a nod.

it took him awhile to recognize you, and your name didn’t hit him until it was too late and you had already crossed the room.

**

a month later steve was parked outside of dustin’s house, tapping his fingers lightly against his car, humming to the song on the radio patiently waiting for dustin to come outside when you were walking to get your mail and your eyes caught onto the familiar burgundy BMW parked across the street. you slightly grinned from where you stood.

maybe you could get him this time.

“hey, stranger,” you slightly tipped your head as you bent down to see him properly through his rolled down window, smiling once he turned his head, almost shocked to see your face. “didn’t know you hung around here.”

“oh-i don’t-i-i’m just picking up a friend.”

oh he was already starting off so rough.

“right,” you leaned back to your normal posture, looking to the henderson house for recognition. “didn’t know you ran with the middle schoolers now.”

he nervously laughed, already knowing this would eventually happen; someone would find out that he was practically best friends with an eighth grader—really his only friend at the moment.

“don’t worry i won’t tell,” you winked just as dustin came stumbling down his front lawn to steve’s passenger seat, already taking note of you.

you were already beginning to walk away with your hands shoved into your jackets pockets and steve suddenly felt a rush of embarrassment almost, “it’s not what it looks like.”

“i’m sure it isn’t,” you called back to him.

“really, there’s more to it.”

“maybe you can tell me all about it sometime.”

steve sighed seeing you were already on your own front lawn—therefore too far to continue to explain himself without seeming like a douche.

“who’s that?”

“huh?” steve almost forgot about dustin as he turned to face him.

“that girl, who is that?”

“oh, just some… girl who’s in my physics class,” he was already having a hard time trying to explain it. he felt caught.

“just some girl?” he quirked a brow, not believing the shallowness of the statement.

“what?”

“dude,” dustin already had that blunt look on his face that steve hated so much—something that made him feel dumb as he stared back, waiting for the explanation to his dumbfounded voice. “that’s not just some girl, that’s like.. some girl you want to take home.”

“what?” okay, now he was really lost.

“what’s her name?”

“i don’t know, y/n?”

“you don’t know?”

“yes, i do know, it’s y/n.”

“good,” dustin shook his head, “because you gotta get on that, man.”

“what, no,” steve’s face screwed up, slightly caught off guard with the suggestion. “no way.”

“what do you mean, steve. did you not see that, she was flirting with you.”

“you’re on something henderson,” steve shook his head. “she was not flirting with me.”

“‘maybe you can tell me about it sometime?’” dustin repeated your words, hoping to lay it out better for him, “dude, steve, if that doesn’t mean ‘let’s have a candle lit dinner’ then i don’t know what does.”

he has to think about it for a minute, his head slightly turning as he leans on his wheel, thinking over the conversation the both of you just had ten seconds ago, “oh, she was definitely flirting.”

“see!”

“there is no way you’re giving me advice on girls right now,” steve shook his head, now moving the car into drive. “there’s no way.”

“hey, someone’s gotta give it to you,” dustin shrugs, “you’re losing your touch, harrington.”

“shut up.”

**

it seemed now everywhere he went you appeared. and you were no longer initiating the encounters, it was more of steve’s eyes wandering and they happened to stumble upon you walking down the hall. he cursed himself for noticing you first and your eyes not being there to meet his.

he didn’t understand the feeling eating at his chest as time passed and he thought about you more and more and with barely knowing you. he really wasn’t even sure if the name he had for you was correct.

“thinking about her?”

“jesus, henderson,” steve slightly flinched as dustin fell into the seat next to him on the couch without warning.

“thinking about who?” robin’s ears perked as she suddenly took interest to the conversation just starting.

the three of them currently sat in steve’s basement for a movie night that had been constantly requested by both dustin and robin until steve finally caved—and was now deeply regretting.

“y/n y/l/n.”

good, he was right.

“really?” robins eyebrows raised in surprised. “not the typical bimbo you go for, this is new for you steve.”

“what do you mean.. y/n’s not a bimbo--i don’t go for bimbos.”

“my point exactly, it’s a little concerning,” robin slightly shrugs, “but i’m sorry my friend, you do in fact usually go for bimbos.”

“i do not-“ steve raises his hands before looking over to dustin for help but the boy only nods, having to agree with robin. “okay, whatever, i don’t even like her.”

dustin rolls his eyes, “who were you just thinking about then, huh?”

steve’s cheeks turn red and he can’t help but roll his eyes, “shove off, henderson.”

he begins to giggle, shoving an accusing finger into steve’s face, “you like someone.”

“yeah, yeah, don’t get too excited,” he slaps dustin’s finger out of his face but it doesn’t stop dustin from continuing to sing in mock.

“that’s a first,” robin huffs, “you sure this isn’t just another kelly situation where you think you’re in love but it’s actually just her butt?”

“who said anything about love, or like for that matter? you guys are just jumping ahead of yourselves.”

dustin continues to sing in the background as he hops foot to foot, making robin give him a pointed look, “match maker here seems to think it’s serious.”

“he’s delusional.”

“well,” robin slightly tips her head, “you have seem really distant recently, steve. and y/n y/l/n, whoo, i’d say she’s definitely an improvement from any past love interests.”

“you’re both delusional.”

**

“we gotta stop meeting like this.”

steve almost jumps, looking up through his car window to see your face. once again, you had caught him in the midst of your neighborhood and outside of dustin’s house.

“jesus,” he looks up to you, a lopsided smile twitching onto his lips, “you a stalker now, y/n?”

“you’d like that, wouldn’t you, harrington,” you smiled, shaking your head, standing up to your real posture. “i think you’re the one stalking since you are the one parked right across from my house.”

he scoffed, “you live right across-“

“from your eighth grade best friend?” you raised a brow, making him roll his eyes. “a little weird.”

“do you have anything else better to do than to be making fun of me?”

“no, not really,” you pressed your lips together in a thin line, shaking your head.

he sighs, slightly shaking his own in thought, not knowing if he was about to regret what he was going to do next. he thinks, biting his lip before tilting his head, “get in.”

“excuse me?“

“hop in…my car?” he nods his head toward the passenger seat once more and it takes a minute for you, with your own thoughts, to decide whether or not this was a good idea. you think not, but you still round the car and get into the seat.

“this how you treat all your girlfriends?”

“maybe.”

“funny,” you shook your head, slightly smiling.

“what?”

“just never thought i’d be sitting in steve harrington’s car outside of little dusty henderson’s house.”

“now, why not?”

“oh, you’re too cool for me,” you say sarcastically, looking over to him.

“really, me?” he quirks a brow, smiling, but you could see confusion tainting his expression—he didn’t know if you were serious or not, or even what to make of your statement.

“really, you,” you nodded, “everyone worshipped you, steve… but then you just like disappeared, and even then people still worship you.” you frowned, not understanding the reverence of high school.

you liked steve, you didn’t mind him and had no problem with him, but the obsession some people had with him, you didn’t understand and you almost found quite annoying.

his disappearance and lack of attendance at parties and functions that “popular” kids attended to was something strange and unlike him. he was missed; you didn’t really care, but a lot of people did.

“yeah… right,” he sighed, looking down to his lap for a moment, thinking of all that had happened in the past year before looking back up to you. it seemed his mood was suddenly struck down at your sentence, but you didn’t understand why.

“why?”

“i don’t know,” he shrugged, “there just seemed no point in them anymore.”

“right.”

“what, you don’t believe me?”

“not really.”

“wow,” he says, “and i suppose you find them so much fun, don’t you?”

“well, yeah.”

he narrowed his brows, “girl like you? there’s no way you do.”

“what do you mean by that?” you scowled at him, taking offense.

“i don’t mean it in a bad way,” he’s quick to defend, throwing up his arms, “all i’m saying is that… you seem better than that, y’know? i’ve noticed you before, and you’re not like… a lot of those girls.”

“thanks?” you don’t know if you should take it as a compliment, but you love the way he seems flustered, trying to explain, almost embarrassed.

“yeah,” his voice is low, barely above a whisper, almost not wanting to unsettle the awkward silence. he know turns to look at you, “you don’t-“

he’s interrupted once you lean forward, pressing your lips against his.

he’s surprised, almost not processing what was happening until it hit him like a rock all at once and he finally kissed you back. you couldn’t believe yourself. never had you ever been this bold, but it was now or never, and you had been waiting to do this for awhile.

his hand clasped the side of your face, his other placing on your waist, pulling you further and closer to him till some part of you that isn’t your lips, was touching him.

he smelled of soap and laundry detergent and whatever product was in his hair. he smelled good and you didn’t want to pull away, especially since he was a good kisser, a real good one.

the rumors weren’t wrong.

he moved slow, like he wasn’t worried about time, and his lips were perfectly in sync to yours. but steve was almost overwhelmed, worried that he’d mess up even as this was one of the things he was good at.

you now pulled away, breathing shallowly but smiling as you look to him with a sparkle in your eye. he smiled back, but was finding it hard to keep consistent eye contact.

“are you blushing?” you smiled, slowly pulling away from his body. “is the steve harrington blushing?”

“shut up,” he smiled, his tongue poking into the side of his cheek as he glanced to his lap. “you’re not looking so hot either.”

“shut up, harrington,” you rolled your eyes, lightly shoving him. “i’m getting out of the car now.”

“wait, why?” he’s eager now, watching you shift in your seat.

“because i’m pretty sure your boyfriend just got a show,” you jerk your thumb to dustin who’s standing on his porch with a wide smile. you look back to steve who curses under his breath. “don’t worry,” you get out of the car now, “we’ll see each other again… maybe.”

“oh, c’mon now,” he calls out to you as you round his car, making your way back to your own home, “don’t be like that… call me!”

“so,” dustin is suddenly in his front seat, grinning from ear to ear, “are you two a perfect match, or are you two a perfect match?”

promise.

pairings. finnick odair x fem!reader

about. finnick has been saving you ever since you’ve known him, but he can’t help you this time.

Promise.

warnings. murder, does not follow original plot, foul language?

ricky rocks. this is kind of an L fic because it's short, but i missed writing for bae.

“you were always the best. killing your brother like that on screen with no hesitation… indeed a performance, one of the best ever seen,” snow sat across from you, his voice calm and precise full of awe. “beautiful.”

he looked off, as if reminiscing about you on screen with blood coating your face and soaking your clothes from days on days of barbarism.

you clenched your jaw, pressing the tip of your tongue into the inside of your cheek as he spoke. your eyes meet the gravel ground of the greenhouse, thinking back to the hot nights and days that were filled with fear and no thoughts but to survive and kill.

your brother kept you safe for as long as he could, that was a mistake. you wish he would have ditched you to fend for yourself, but he stuck by your side like a leech, ultimately leading to his death.

him or you, and he wanted it to be you.

“i always thought you were so brilliant, even at such a young age,” you were twelve, he was seventeen. you were too young, you had life left to live, therefore you did not deserve to die. “and you grew up… wonderfully.”

“stop,” you shook your head, shook the memories and red images from your mind, “stop talking.”

he did. he leaned back, watching you think. watching you struggle within your own head to come back to reality, to find yourself again. he found it amusing, watching your skin crawl from where you sat.

“he’d be so proud of you: rafe,” he smiled at the visible sudden stiffness in your body. “everything you’ve came to be.”

“don’t say his name,” you shoved yourself up, hauling towards his seat. “you do not get to say his name.”

he shifts and you swear you see a look of uncomfortableness strike his eyes, looking you up and down, observing the anger that radiated off your skin. you wanted to kill him; you wanted him to feel pain.

“he is dead because of you. you don’t get to say his name when you don’t know what he went through. what i went through,” you were leaned over him, clenching your fists, clenching around a blade.

you wanted to kill him. you were going to kill him.

you pulled the silver knife from your sleeve, pushing it to his throat, “i want you to feel it.”

he smiled beneath the pain, his fine white teeth staining with red as blood seeped up from his throat, looking up to you, daring, not believing that you’d do it, “oh, y/n, if you couldn’t do it then, you can’t do it now.”

“watch me.”

**

he knew.

you didn’t know how but it seemed the moment you walked out of that greenhouse, his eyes were on you and he was tracking you down as you tried your best to get away from the scene, unnoticed—which didn’t work out.

“what’d he say to you?”

“does it matter?”

his body was practically shoved against yours as you tried your best to keep walking, hopefully toward an exit. but he was making it difficult, he always did, but you couldn’t blame him; you were a walking hazard when mad, especially now after the rebellion had fully absorbed panem.

everything was off and the sudden break from routine and fear of the capitol eyes watching you; it was weird and you couldn’t help but be weary of something bad happening.

“no,” he mumbled, grabbing onto your forearm to slow you and pull you away from other onlooking eyes, “but i would like to know what led to you having blood on your hand.”

you clenched your jaw hard as he now had your hand pulled up, showing the crimson colored liquid staining your hand. an aching feeling overcoming every part of your body as the look on finnick’s face begun to get to you, “don’t.”

“don’t what?” his voice was low, his eyes beginning to haunt you with a look asking you something that he wasn’t going to speak aloud; what have you done?

he couldn’t protect you from this. what you had just done, was not something to come back from. he couldn’t understand why. all you had to do was wait. just wait and the whole situation would have taken care of itself.

“he was going to die anyways,” you pulled your wrist from his grip, continuing to walk away, hoping he wouldn’t follow.

“it wasn’t your job to do it,” but of course, he strides after you. “it was planned, y/n, coin is not going to-”

“let me have this, finnick,” you turned fast to face him with anger still built up and ready to spill, “the only thing that they’re going to be mad about is the fact that they didn’t get a show like they’re always fucking given. including coin.”

“she’ll have your head.”

“she’ll stay away from me. coin is just as bad as snow, and you know it.”

he stayed silent, his eyes wandering from your face as he thought. you were right. the bombing at the capitol gates single handedly showed that coin was as power hungry as snow and it didn’t matter if it costed lives.

“i can’t save you from this.”

“i don’t need you to save me, finnick.”

lie. you both knew it.

since the day you met finnick he had been saving your ass, even if you didn’t need it.

many times from snow trying to profit off your body, many times in the eyes of aggressive capitol people and lurking faces, many times within the arena, and during the rebellion.

he kept watchful eyes on you ever since your youthful face replaced his prideful accomplishment of youngest winning victor of the hunger games.

“look, even if snow’s life ended the same, his killing was meant for a crowd,” his voice was a whisper as he pushed you slowly inside and against a wall. “it was going to be coin’s big introduction with katniss doing what she does best. you took that away, if she is anything like snow, you know that won’t go unpunished.”

“what’re you trying to say?”

“you need to leave.”

“then let go.”

he internally winced, wishing he could do more for you other than amp up your fight or flight reflexes. he didn’t want to leave you hanging, leave you to their jaws.

“finn,” you yanked at his sleeve lightly, “you need to let me go.”

his body hovered over you, seeming so out of it—drunk. his aroma was throwing you off, you just had to get away, because if you didn’t now, you probably wouldn’t anytime soon.

“promise me something then.”

you exhaled, blinking up through your lashes, “what?”

“live long enough to let me save you at least one more time?”

“no promises.”

death era.

part three of n/a.

Death Era.

ricky rocks. okay now the story is going to get moving.

“hey, hey, relax.”

the light shimmering of sun peaking through the forest trees flooded into athena’s eyesight like anguish. her head throbbed and all she could get out was a groan while her body rolled slightly around on the forest floor in attempt to bring her back to life and recreate feeling within her limbs.

her eyes squinted into slits as the feeling of sleep wore off into the ground and reality hit her harder than bellamy did. he didn’t kill her like he said he would, she was alive, and she could really feel it now.

she struggled in her position, a feeling of paranoia striking her fast as she half expected bellamy would be right there to watch her become accustomed to the blow to her head and the large deep cut swelling in her right shoulder—she almost thought it was him who had pressure on the wound.

but she was mistaken, it was a girl.

that’s all athena could make out as she tried her best to adjust her eyesight on the girl with the half-assed lift of her head.

“steady yourself there, blue,” a groan once again resonated from athena’s mouth as the girl moved back a bit, more sunlight flooding into her sight and more pain as the girl pressed harder onto her shoulder causing blood to leak out beneath her hands.

“someone sliced you huh,” she tilted her head a bit, more or so mumbling to herself as she examined athena a little more, pursing her lips. “smacked you across the head too.”

athena only grunted in reply, her eyes rolling into the back of her head at the pain. the girl grabbed her forehead, tilting it back and forth and up and down, trying to see where the blood of the wound on her head resonated from.

“i need to patch you up,” she huffs, “you're gonna need stitches on that shoulder of yours and i don’t even know what to do about the rest of you.”

the girl clicked her tongue, sitting back, letting go of athena’s shoulder hesitantly while she made a move to her pack, but she heard the click of a gun making her tightly close her eyes in regret. it was difficult to find good trusting people anymore, even ones that were injured, they always seemed to be the most hesitant.

“who are you?” athena pushed past the urge to wince as she had increased the pain in her shoulder. the gun bellamy had used to knock her out had been left graciously a little ways up and past her head.

“octavia,” she had her hands raised as she turned back around slowly, “my name is octavia and i just want to help you, okay?”

“no one just wants to help,” athena mumbled, just barely coughing her words out.

“listen, i don’t care what you think, but you need stitches, and the bullet in your leg pulled out.”

“what?-”

bam.

being knocked upside the head twice in a day was not healthy, especially for someone in the condition athena was in. octavia wasn't sure how the girl had such a strong hold up still, she knew she’d probably be a mess if she had a cut deep in need of stitches and a bullet stuck in her thigh, but the thing was, athena was out of conscious, if she wanted to scream, she couldn't have.

when athena woke up, she felt like she couldn’t move. she felt as if her thigh had tons of bricks inside of it, weighing her down to the forest floor. the realization that bellamy also shot her hit her hard; what was the point? to slow her down? to let her slowly bleed out and die? that being him feeling less guilty with the possibly that she’d survive?

athena felt like she was about to throw up, her eyes twitched in pain when her shoulder took over most of her thoughts, pain was the only thing bouncing around in that head of hers.

octavia, the girl who knocked athena in the head, also the girl who had saved her from bleeding out, sat a couple feet away, rummaging through something. it made athena swallow when she just barely raised her head to peak.

octavia was going through her pack. that alone would have set athena off but she couldn't do much from the position she was in, and this girl saved her after all.

“i’d really appreciate it if you didn’t mess with my things,” she gazed up at the darkening sky, her stomach rummaging around in anxiousness as well as pain, “it’s rude.”

octavia froze, but then relaxed when realizing the girl couldn't do anything, even if she tried. “just trying to figure out who you are,” she mumbled, flipping through a book, a journal, but it wasn't athenas, part of it wasn't anyways.

“hate to break it to you, but i’m a nobody.”

“you must be a somebody if you can get ahold of an m4 carbine,” she mumbled again, before putting away the journal without much examination, sliding over to where athena began to get up.

“how’d you get a military gun?”

“they’re not hard to steal.”

“yeah but they’re hard to find, they’re rare and fucking dangerous.”

“how do you know that?”

the pair of young girls stare into each other's eyes for a good moment, each studying one another. there's more than met the surface, and the both of them knew it.

“that journal, it keeps track of hits, but most of them aren't recent... that isn't yours, is it?”

oh. so she did study it.

“how do you know so much about the m4?”

“where did you get it?”

“at a base off the interstate.”

“which one.”

“i don’t remember.”

“okay,” octavia’s face laid blank but there was still a layer of skepticism that littered her brows as they were slightly pinched together. she knew. “can i ask why you were bleeding out when i found you?”

“some prick-” she slightly gasped as she adjusted her position, “decided to let me suffer instead of kill me like he promised.”

“why?”

athena cringed, slightly turning her head, “i wouldn’t give him what he wanted.”

octavia didn’t push on from there.

“when’s the last time you ate?”

"why do you want to help me so bad?"

"because human decency is hard to find and i know if i was in the exact position you're in, i'd want help."

oh.

athena didn't say anything in return because she couldn't agree. octavia, this girl before her, was a better person than she was. in todays world, it was everyone for themselves.

"now, when's the last time you ate?"

**

"why are you alone?" for the past hour athena were trying your best to ease into the presence of octavia and her strangely positive attitude. she were propped against a tree, sitting across from the girl as she seemed to of been tying pieces of grass to one another.

"i have people," she spoke, her tone a lot lower than it had been before. it was like instantly her mood had dropped and she was now dejected. "we got split up."

"so, you're alone now."

"but with reason."

"with reason?" athena arched a brow, examining her closely now.

"i'm looking for someone."

"the rest of your group?"

"no," she shook her head, "see, half our group was split in half, and i got split from them."

athena didn't press on. there was something about this topic that was obviously upsetting and the girl wasn't as up for talking about it as anything else. athena was also finding it difficult to talk to her in the first place, it seemed she was almost hiding something with how restricting she was with her words now.

"do you have people?"

stupid question.

"no."

"why not?"

athena had to be careful answering this. she had many reasons as to not trusting people, not to be in a collective group, but saying the wrong thing could place a bad atmosphere on the both of them, "most of the people around here are dead."

"and the live ones?"

"usually want to kill me... if you couldn't tell."

she lightly smiles, and silence settles over as the both of them thought. she wanted to say something, athena could tell, but she was hesitant, "my people aren't like that."

"what are they like?" athena shouldn't have been entertaining the idea, she knew that, she knew where octavia was going with that statement.

"you should find out."

athena shook her head, "you don't have to do that."

"do what?"

"offer me a position in your group. you've already done enough for me," she internally cringed at her sweet words, "if anything, i owe you."

"then help me find them," her voice sounds slight enlightened as an idea pops into her head.

"what?"

"help me find them, pay me back that way."

shit.

"octavia-"

"athena, you said it yourself, you owe me and what's holding you back from doing so?" she was now drawing closer to her, "listen, i stay with you for a week, help you heal, and when you can walk, you help me, deal?"

she's now right next to her, making it hard for her to look anywhere but at octavia. everything was screaming at her to not agree, to stick to her ground rules. but something overruled that power as she starred deeper into octavia’s eyes and saw something she hasn’t seen in a long time; hope.

"deal."

spiraling.

pairings. bellamy blake x fem!reader

about. bellamy saves your ass, again.

Spiraling.

warnings. foul language, murder

ricky rocks. follow me lol, i’m cool

“what’s wrong?” you were drawn away from your thoughts, glancing to raven. her hands tightly gripped the steering wheel of the rover while looking to you in a slightly anxious manner. “you haven’t spoken the whole ride.”

kane had gotten a call about twenty minutes ago about there being a breach and half the guard team was already gone. there was no one to cover the call except you.

“i got this,” you were already slinging on your guard jacket before kane could say anything, he had never intended on you hearing the beep in but there you were with your eager eyes and ease dropping ears.

he frowned, shaking his head, “no, it’s too dangerous out there.”

you looked at kane dumbfounded, your frown curving deeper into your cheeks making you look older and increasing the darkness within your features, “i can handle myself out there.”

he knew you could, he wasn’t worry about that. kane was more concerned about reasons he wasn’t about to speak aloud, especially to your face in fear of risking setting you off.

“you’re not going.”

“kane,” you gave him a pointed look, shoving your gun in the loop of your belt. you continued to defy him, causing his stomach to wrench up, he didn’t want to yell at you. “i can handle myself out there.”

“if you go,” he began to slowly cave from his original statement, leaning against the metal table separating the two of you, “i want someone out there with you.”

“bellamy isn’t here.”

bellamy was always your scout partner when either one of you were sent out of arkadia to scope out whatever needed to be scoped out. both of you would have been well enough without one another but it was always nice to have company, especially company like bellamy’s.

“you’re going with me, sweetheart,” raven appeared out of nowhere, patting your back as she begun to climb in the driver seat of the rover with a slight struggle due to her leg.

you almost resisted the urge to clench your jaw too hard. you loved raven but you would have really preferred to take this trip alone, especially after what had happened last time; you were with miller, completely throwing you off due to him having a completely different style when it came to scouting arkadia outer grounds than bellamy.

bad things happened.

“bellamy?” you had turned head rather fast, now holding eye contact with the hazel eyed girl, her nervousness had eased off as if coming to the conclusion to your quietness.

“what?” “you'd rather be with bellamy, right?” “i’d rather be by myself,” you grumbled, sulking deeper into the passenger seat. you felt guilty for doing so, raven had nothing to do with your own problems but you really would rather be alone with how everyone had been treating you recently.

“too bad.”

once you had arrived upon the breach you had gotten out of the car rather fast with your hand clutching the hand gun looped with your belt tightly, making it hard for raven to keep up, seeing the determination within your steps.

“slow down, cowgirl,” she yelled after you, almost tripping multiple times as she tried to increase her pace. “there’s no rush.”

“this is ice nations sector, reyes,” you called back, “there is no time to slow down.”

you broke through a large section of trees and branches soon revealing a scene that took you by surprise. it made you raise your gun just as quick as you had gasped.. and soon raven ended up in the same position of surprisal.

before the two of you, bellamy and octavia were knocked out propped up against a tree tied together while a man who’s face was painted white pointed his staff toward you in threat. you kept your composure at the sight with your gun still held in height of his head.

“don’t shoot.”

“you’re not helping.”

“y/n, don’t. don’t do something dumb,” her voice rang through your ears and you suddenly felt hot and your head felt light with pressure spiking, making the rest of your body feel numb. “y/n?”

“reyes, go.”

“you’re about to do something you’re going to regret.”

“you’re about to do something you’re going to regret.”

your vision cleared and became leveled with a man from trikru. his smile was strange and split and made your head spin with uncomfortableness.

he had you surrounded. you and miller.

“you’re not going to shoot me.”

“try me,” you narrowed your brows as you looked between him and to the men next to him, as you were sure miller was doing the same but to the men he was facing. the two of you were back to back, guns raised high in defense.

“we don’t mean any harm,” miller’s voice butts in and he tries to reason as his voice calls to the man you were talking to. you clenched your jaw, miller was almost making you both look foolish. “just let us go.”

“oh i’ll let you go. it’s her that’s gotta stay.”

“i’ll shoot you.”

“those are some powerful words,” he shifts towards you and you’re quick to cock the gun. he flinches but smiles as he still makes small movements toward you till you just… shot him, setting off a chain reaction of the rest of the men launching toward you.

and bang, bang, bang—three more bodies dead on the ground with your simple aim and no hesitation.

miller only injured the other two with a look on his face that you wouldn’t forget. he looked at you with an almost petrified expression—one that read he couldn’t believe what you had just done.

“we need to go.”

“we need to go.”

you were being shaken lightly until your eyes pealed open fast, meeting the feeling of bellamy’s hand lightly holding your face with an urgent look on his own, looking all around before back to your face, “c’mon, get up, kid. we’ve got to go.”

he pulls you to your feet fast where raven and octavia are already hauling it to the rover and the man from ice nation laid on the ground, dead.

“please tell me that wasn’t me.”

“don’t worry,” bellamy gripped your arm while pushing you to go faster toward the rover. right before the man knocked octavia and him out, it wasn’t just him, there was at least two more. they must have gone scavenging, leaving that man to himself, which in hindsight wasn’t smart at all to leave one against two.

“you passed out,” raven looked back to you from her position in the drivers seat. “i think you’re under a lot of stress.”

no kidding.

you glanced to bellamy who was already looking to you and you half expected him to lecture you, like he always did, especially with the look on his face. he was always so adamant with keeping yourself stable, to take breaks, and make sure you were always alright—especially when situations got tough. but right now he didn’t, he kept his mouth shut.

you and bellamy were very similar. he knew it too and it scared him, because he didn’t want any of the things that ran through his mind, going through your own. you were both very self destructive and that wasn’t something he realized until mount weather—a point in time where he learned a lot about you.

“what’re we going to do?” octavia looked to raven who was still breathless, gripping the steering wheel tightly.

she could barely think straight without her mind straying to ten minutes before, “we go to kane, we tell him what happened and we continue on with our day. this isn’t the first time irrational decisions have gotten the best of us.”

she resisted looking at you, but she didn’t have to in order for you to know she was halfway referring to you.

you tipped your head back in despair, wishing you could redo the past month.

* *

“explain to me how a scouting mission ends up with someone dead,” you bit your tongue, already feeling a harsh lecture coming as kane stared at raven gingerly who was barely keeping her composure. she was very fiery whenever it came to discussions like this and defending her own, but the dead body must have thrown her off.

“listen, bellamy and octavia were both in danger-“

“doesn’t give us a right to kill ice nation’s people. our pact with them is barely hanging on by a thread.”

“we didn’t mean for this to happen, kane,” you spoke, defending raven from the rouse he was pressuring her with, but you instantly regretted it when he looks to you, like he hadn’t even noticed you yet.

“you killed four grounders, y/n. you understand that right? and now you go and kill someone apart of ice nation. do you understand what that does to us?” kane’s expression and words catch you off gaurd and causes your chest to tighten. he was never someone you expected to be so jarring. he had been giving you the benefit of the doubt for the past month, so seeing him snap so fast took you aback. “you’ve become unhinged. you don’t think straight anymore.”

“she didn’t kill him,” bellamy takes a step in front of you out of instinct.

“then who did?” he raises his voice, “because i’m looking between all four of you right now and only one of you is coming out as a valid option.”

“it was all three of us,” octavia speaks, “y/n, got knocked out before she could do anything. like you said, she hasn’t been thinking straight lately because she’s been under a lot of pressure.”

you could tell kane didn’t believe a word she said by the way he paused, clenching his jaw. it was looking like they were only trying to cover for you right now, and you couldn’t blame him.

“i can’t deal with this right now, we’ll talk about this later.”

* *

“he’s going to kick me from camp.”

you sat on bellamy’s bed as he begun to change from his disoriented attire from earlier that day. after abby had patched him up from the gash he had on the side of his head and made sure you were still doing alright, you both begun to talk about the past month, essentially leading back to kane.

you felt you hadn’t seen bellamy in forever, and it was practically true due to kane setting you both up with different guard partners and assigning you both to tasks at different times for the past five weeks. hence, how you got mixed up with miller in the first place.

it was almost as if it was purposeful…

“he’s not going to kick you from camp.”

“he has no reason not to.”

“y/n, why would he?”

“i killed people, bellamy,” you looked at him, dumbfounded. “for no reason.”

“for good reason,” he corrected you, now kneeling before you. “kane is under a lot of pressure right now, and what happened to you didn’t help. he’s worried about a lot of things, and he doesn’t want to worry about you.”

“he said i’m unhinged.”

“we all are,” he squeezed your knee, getting back to his feet. “you need to stop worrying. you did nothing wrong today.”

“what do you think he’s going to say later?” you questioned.

“stop worrying, princess,” he gave you a pointed look. “what’s the worse that can happen?”

* *

“i don’t want either of you to be partners, you’re both bad for each other. i’ve realized that now for the past two months,” kane folded his hands, delivering the worse news before you and bellamy. “y/n, i was in between full suspension and five week suspension from your position, it’s up to you.”

you looked a kane with narrowed brows, completely dumbfounded and not knowing what to say. you should have seen it coming, he had been preparing the two of you for this by scheduling you both different times and you felt like a fool for not realizing it till now.

“kane, that is irrational,” bellamy shook his head, “we’re both your best and you’re going to risk it over her messing up once. i can hardly see how we’re bad for each other, when we get things done better than any one else on the guard.”

“once is enough.”

you frowned hard, “the only reason i messed up was because i was with miller. because you scheduled me with him. bellamy is not the reason i shot trikru. miller just threw me off because i’m not used to the way he clears.”

kane shook his head, “you shouldn’t be like that. you’re a guard, y/n, you should be prepared for anything, not ‘thrown off’ just because miller runs a totally different route than you and bellamy.”

you couldn’t believe him, “you can’t be serious. kane, you have my answer, you can implement a full suspension.. or whatever,” you rolled your eyes, getting to your feet but bellamy’s quick to pull you back down in your seat.

“she gets a different partner or full suspension, you can expect the same thing from me,” he pressed his lips into a thin line knowing kane wouldn’t accept that. bellamy was the best they had, and without him, the ark would most likely fail.

“you can’t do that,” kane shakes his head, “bellamy.”

“then you fix this,” he still held your wrist as he spoke with a stern tone, “you suspend her five weeks, but you keep her as my partner, you schedule us same time like how it used to be. otherwise you lose the both of us.”

bellamy didn’t understand how kane didn’t realize that you were only under the right mindset when with him. you were irrational with unfamiliarity, its something about that, that freaked you out, but with bellamy, there was a level of control and focus that he could only bring.

kane looked hesitant, glancing between the two of you before focusing on bellamy, “you keep her tame then.”

a deal was made. you were kept partners with bellamy but you still couldn’t help but be angered by the way they spoke like you weren’t there. you were happy with the outcome and you were sure the only reason it happened was because bellamy did all the talking.

“you owe me.”

you rolled your eyes, “you did yourself a favor.”

bellamy scoffed, his eyebrow curving, “really?”

“you know you couldn’t survive a day without me on the job.”

“funny,” he shook his head, “because i was thinking the same thing about you.”

you smiled, but hesitated, “thank you. you saved my ass, again.”

“you’re good, you just owe me,” he winked, “now get ready for your shift.”

What Are Friends For.

warnings. gif not mine, swearing, underage drinking,

ricky rocks. 4 my theo fans

the slytherin common room was kept nice and quiet aside from a dying fire being the only distinct sound. the full moon peaking through the dark green drapes that hung from the high ceilings was the only thing illuminating the naturally dark room and black furniture that was nicely kept for how old it was— and with that, soft moonlight shone on the side of theo’s face.

his features were calm and relaxed as he was pressed into one of the two couches with his arm draped over the top of his head while the other laid limp aside him. he looked much younger, as if no worries or sorrows ever crossed his mind or harmed his body.

you smiled softly to yourself at his loosen state. your hand lightly and hesitantly laid upon his shoulder while the other slightly swooped his long growing curls from his forehead to prevent them from drooping too low to his eyes.

“theo,” you shook him once and he woke, “you fell asleep on the couch again.”

he didn’t seem surprised as he adjusted himself to sit up, inhaling sharply as if catching his breath and coming to realization of the reality that surrounded him. your hands fell from him and sat back in your lap as he scoped you out, staying silent and no longer looking so young with his stress lines filling back into his face.

he felt hot and he looked around for a moment before looking back to you, it made your stomach flip and you felt intimidated as he sat himself up and got to his feet while he begun to loosen his tie even more than it already was.

“go to bed,” he voice was rough and his eyes didn’t meet yours but instead the previous fire that was now crackling embers. his eyes struck yours one more time before he moved toward the stairs, “it’s late.”

°•

“you’re rather strange, theo ole’ boy,” blaise had his feet kicked up on the coffee table, his homework sat in his lap, waiting to be completed as the boy looked up and across him where theo sat, content with his own work running though his mind. “i mean.. very-”

“get to the point,” he didn’t bother looking up at he bit his thumb, going over his answer before moving on to the next one.

“i mean you had a pretty girl wake you up from the couch for the past few nights and you haven’t made on single move,” blaise tsks with a slight head shake, “how have you not got on that?”

still, not bothering to look up, theo mumbles while changing pages, “why would i?”

“your feelings are very obvious, mate.”

he now looks up, almost making it obvious he was caught off guard but he only pressed his lips into a thin line, diverting his eyes back to his homework, “no.”

“no?”

“what are you two on about now?”

blaise’s head tilted back to see enzo sauntering over to a seat, “nothing, just theo denying his feelings about dear y/n.”

enzo coughed a laugh, “really?”

blaise hummed.

“you’re quite silly, theo. that girl adores you, which i’m not sure why,” enzo shrugged, his arms lining the armrests of the chair. “if you don’t make a move, someone else will.”

typically theo would never listen to a word lorenzo said. the boy always had something to say about everything and most typically if it came out of his mouth, it probably wasn’t true. but when it came to you, theo had a hard time sorting out what was true and what wasn’t no matter what mouth the assertion came from.

“whatever,” he shrugged continuing to write down formulas for his potions class. “if you want to, why don’t you just say so.”

blaise’s eyes crossed to enzo fast before crossing back to theo, both their jaws falling slack to the realization of what he had foolishly said. mischief already pierced enzo’s hazel eyes as a snide smile picked his lips up, “if you say so, theo ole’ boy.”

**

“well, well, well, if it isn’t the slytherin princess herself,” george weasley crossed his arms with a dashing smirk on his face as you dipped into the entrance of the gryffindor common room with a group of your friends. the tall red head shifted to the side, jerking his thumb in your direction. “check this out fred, royalty itself decided to bless us with its presence.”

you smirked up to the boy with your hands pinned behind your back, shifting from side to side in amusement as fred’s face overcame with an astonished expression, eyes going wide like full moons and mouth dropping to convey his shock even better. “oh what a blessed day. this party is already off to a great start.”

“i was thinking the exact same thing,” the boys shared stares with amused smiles before looking back down to you where you smiled, always finding enjoyment to their taunt.

“anything for my favorite gryffindorks,” you extended your hand out to lay on both their shoulders before turning around, finally allowing yourself to immerse within the chaos of the party.

red and yellow lights flooded the large room, but theo could still see you so clearly smiling so broadly up at the weasley twins. you were always scolded and teased hard by the group for being friends with them, but no ever said a word when a week rounded around to a party hosted by the rivalry house. it was very obvious you were the only reason they were invited.

theo’s jaw tightened as he tried to shift his vision from you but he couldn’t. he knew what would happen tonight and the encounter with the mischievous red headed boys were the least of his problems. enzo made it very obvious what his intentions were with seven words and theo was all at fault for it. blaise made sure he knew it the moment it was just the two of them by slapping the back of his head with a piece of newspaper and whispering lowly in a harsh tone about how you should never challenge a person who’s always scouting for an opposition.

“what are you saying?” theo had frowned, rubbing the back of his head as they continued to walk the dark halls of hogwarts.

“i’m talking about lorenzo you fool. that twit has been looking for an opening with y/n for weeks and you just gave him one,” blaise huffed, clearly more worked up than theo which was sending him deeper into frustration as the dull light of theo’s eyes stayed just as they always did- he was at least hoping for a bit of gleam, but theo’s face stayed blank. “look, if you want that girl, you better make a move and fast before enzo’s dreamy eyes and lips get to her first.”

he hated how right blaise was. he always was.

the thing was, theo wasn’t fully aware of his feelings until he saw enzo slowly ease up on you by laying a hand on the very top of your back before sliding it down slowly to the point where to was almost touching your butt. it made theo scoff with a shake of his head before getting to his feet. he would pick you over anyone in the group any day. you were the one he sat by on the train. you were the one he walked with when the group made impulsive decisions to invade to forbidden forest. you were the one he sat by at all meals of the day.

you stayed at the top of his list and he hadn’t really realized why until now.

“who are we looking at?”

theo glanced up to see hermione smile at him softly before falling back into the seat next to him. she leaned slightly closer to theo to see where his line of sight was while she took a sip of the red punch in her glass. she smiled once her eyes landed on you before looking up to theo who was already looking down on her blankly.

she didn’t say anything and he didn’t either. she swallowed more of her drink before reaching it up close to his face. he hesitantly took it, still looking down at hermione who must have had more than fruit punch in her system.

“liquid courage, theo,” she nodded, leaning further into the couch, “you’re going to need it.”

he shook his head but drank the spiked punch, “does everyone know?”

“no,” she hummed, staring at you as you did shots with enzo knitted to your hip. “but i am your best friend aren’t i?”

he shook his head, “i don’t have a best friend.”

“mh, that hurts.”

he grunted in reply.

“listen, nott,” she slapped his chest, her voice calm and words almost slurred, “if you don’t kiss her tonight, someone else will and it’s not neville.”

he looked over to her, his eyebrows knitted but she got up fast before he could say anything. she wasn’t wrong; neville would piss his pants if you even looked in his direction.

he hadn’t moved from that couch all night and it was killing blaise as his eyes had constantly switched between you and enzo to theo… who was also watching you and enzo.

“you’re sulking, mate,” blaise confronted him, disappointment laced in his voice. “you’re practically asking for him to make a move by staring, he loves an audience.”

“he won’t make a move.”

“i wouldn’t be so sure,” blaise glanced over his shoulder to see enzo’s hand lightly holding your chin, his face close too close to yours for it not to be considered a move. “theo-”

theo was on his feet immediately with his mind spinning fast. he found enzo’s move uncalled for even as it was expected and well.. fair- theo was a bit out of sorts due to the multiple drinks that had made their way in his direction and for the past two hours he had been sitting in his own anger and frustration. he wasn’t trying to be subtle as he bumped into multiple people without a second thought and he practically shoved enzo to the ground once the two of you were at arms length.

“you shouldn’t kiss that sleezebag.”

you could see enzo recover quickly from the corner of your eye, a smirk on his face as he shifted away faster than you could process with a drink in his hand. he made his way to where blaise stood with a smirk of his own before sliding hands with enzo.

mission accomplished.

theo was too busy staring at you to have notice. your lips slightly twitched upward before looking up to theo’s tall leaning figure, “oh yeah?”

“yeah,” he licked his lips fast, “he doesn’t care about you.”

“and you do?”

“yes.”

you were taken aback as you shifted slightly backwards on the balls of your feet. your went jaw slightly slack before he leaned further down, pressing his lips against yours while his hand held the side of your face.

he was hot and you suddenly wanted to drop all of your close with how fast you had warmed up with just the slightest touch of his hand on your cheek and his lips on yours. but you still wanted him close, closer, just so you could feel the heat of his body better. you thought your chest was going to explode from how hard your heart was pounding.

theo swore he was dreaming and you’d wake him from the couch in seconds. he pulled away making sure you weren’t a blurry version of your face that he always saw in his sleep, but you were clear as day, breathless with dark and hopeful eyes that he longed to see.

“maybe it’s a good time to tell you i don’t want to sleep on the couch tonight.”
