“Thank you, Namjoon. You are right. I don’t think I would be too comfortable staying with you all so quickly.” You were shy admitting that, the boys could tell. It had Yoongi scooting down further in his seat. Jin practically pouting at the thought of you not wanting to stay with them, but he knew you needed time.

By the time it was time to hang up, Emilia had come back over and told you that you were going to be leaving in a couple of minutes.

“Well, I have to get going. I should be in Korea within an hour maybe? I’m not too sure.” You tell them, truly thankful for them, and glad they didn’t mention your hip again.

“Okay. Well please let us know when you touch down and when you get to the hotel.” With that, you say your goodbyes and you buckle back up into your seat.

Yoongi’s not waiting in the house for you when you get back from the gym. He’s not even waiting on the porch. No- he’s on the street, eyes frantic and flannel misbuttoned like he’s been listening for the grumble screech of Jimin’s car. Like he started walking down the street the second he heard it.

He hardly even wants to wait for it to thud to a halt. The smell of metal and gasoline gunks up your stuffy nose, keeping you from scenting him. His hands are so soft on you when he makes to pull you out of the car and Jungkook’s lap although the omega clings to you. A half-affronted noise leaves his throat. bereft as you’re transferred from one packmate to another.

But Jungkook would never deny Yoongi this.

Being in your twenties was weird. You went from being in a structured routine for twelve plus years, having to ask to go to the bathroom, to being on your own and having to make mistake after mistake until you get the hang of being an adult (even if you never actually figure it out).

Being in your twenties also meant something else to most of the world’s population. The tiny string of fate that was always thought of as a fantasy would solidify, only visible to you and the person or people on the other end. The string was supposed to lead you to your soulmate/s, but sometimes only served to be a reminder of what you couldn’t have.  

Some people are lucky enough to already be with their soulmates and receive their string when they meet them, even before their twentieth birthday. You were not so lucky.
