"Hello, I'm not sure exactly how to write this, I've been refusing to ask for help for a long time but I've reached the point where I don't know how to help myself anymore and my friends have convinced me this might be a good option for me.
My story started a couple of years ago, I got into an abusive relationship with someone who took advantage of me financially as well as emotionally abused me for the entire duration of our relationship. I had a few attempts to end my own life during this relationship, and I still suffer from depression because of this even tho I was finally able to get out.
After I was free, it was still incredibly difficult for me to function in my day to day life. Some days I would be unable to do basic daily tasks and would lie on the floor for hours, I stopped eating and my weight dropped down to 95lbs. I was terribly embarrassed to admit this was how low I had fallen, so I pretended I was fine to everyone around me. I stopped interacting with most people in my life out of shame because I did not want them to see I was not okay. After a couple of months, I managed to start functioning again, but then got hit with a tax bill that was over £10k, and I was unable to pay for it due to the fact most of my savings had been used on my ex partner and towards rent when I was too sick to work. I managed to pay about £3k towards the bill, but after that I was unable to put any more money towards it. Eventually I lost hope and fell into depression again, and I didn't plan on still being around next year anymore because I have no idea how to get myself out of this. I cannot get help from family, my father who is the only family member I am still in contact with (mother was physically abusive) and alive is currently sick with cancer and does not have any means to help me.
My friends have convinced me to make this GoFundMe as a last resort to get help, a good friend of mine is hosting it for me as I'm unable to use my real name for safety reasons I have to keep private. If you're unable to donate I would appreciate if you could give this a share, even small donations can go a long way.
