Coffee And Violets (SUGA) CH7 - Yeongsun

Coffee and Violets (SUGA) CH7 - Yeongsun

(WARNING: A bit of angst.. not too bad but uh yeah you can skip that part! I'll write where it starts :])

(Your POV)

You curl up on the couch as tears spill from your eyes. I can't get anything right.

You closed the shop early today. There's no point in making coffee if it'll only taste cold. Rain patters against the window and you can't help but think it's the only one that cares.

A knock on the door interrupts your thoughts. You slowly open it.

"Hey Y/N!"

"Yeongsun? Why do you know where I live?"

"Your mom told me. She actually wanted me to drop this off," He holds up a bag with containers of food in it, "she wanted to give it to you herself, but she has been so busy."

"Ah. I missed mom's food." You take the bag from your old neighbor.

"So, how's it goin'? Living on your own."

You shrug, "Fine. I assume you still live next door to my old house?"

"Yep!" He chirps, "you look like you've been crying though. Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, just... lonely."

He thinks for a moment, "Well, it's late out now. What do you think of having lunch together tomorrow?"

You smile at his happy energy.

"That sounds good."

And that leads you to now. He took you out to eat for lunch. As sweet as he was, he kept slipping flirts into the conversation. He was a good guy, your mom certainly wanted you to date him, but you weren't interested.

But then again, what are you waiting for? Who are you waiting for?

I don't think he's coming.

"C'mon Y/N! Let's go into the flower shop! I'll buy you something pretty" he smiles.

"Huh?" You snap out of your daze, "Wait.. wait NO!"

(Yoongi POV)

"I'm sorry, Yoongs" Hoseok says.

"And her cafe is closed again today. She probably thinks I'm dating Minsoo or something, and I can't even tell her I'm not."

"I'm sure she'll be back soon enough." He comforts, "Besides, if she closed early and is gone again today, that most likely means it did hurt her. Meaning she did like you back."

"Yeah... maybe you're-" I'm interrupted by the ringing of the bell.

A guy comes in, pulling a girl with him over to the daisies. Y/N.

"You really don't need to buy me anything, Yeongsun! Let's go somewhere else" She awkwardly urged him.

Jealousy burns into my skin. All this time I thought she was upset at me. She wasn't even thinking about me. She was off with this Yeongsun guy, and to be honest? How could I even be mad? He seems to love her. He seems to treat her better than I could.

"Of course I'm buying you something! But I have to say Y/N," He pauses and meets her eyes, "I can't find the flower I'm looking for."

"What flower are you looking for?" She stammered.

"One prettier than you."

My hands grip the counter, knuckles turning white. "There isn't one" I mouthed.

"What was that?" Yeongsun turned to me.

"Nothing."

"Hmm," He picks up a bouquet of red roses, "This one is so pretty though. I love roses. What do you think?"

"It's pretty," She shrugged, "I've always loved more... unique flowers."

"What's the point in that? Roses are popular because they're pretty. And you deserve the best." He quipped. Her gaze flickers to me.

She gulps, "Yeah"

--------------

"That'll be $14.95!" Hoseok smiled.

"and can we get that packaged up?"

"Yeongsun, it's fine. We don't need to."

"No no! I think we should." He grinned.

"Yoongi? Can you go get this wrapped up for them?" He passes me an apologetic look. I take the bouquet to the back, wrapping it in the plastic sleeve and the tag.

I always write some sort of poetry on the tag, for situations like these? Usually something lovey-dovey. And that seems like what Yeongsun asked for.

Once it's finished, I pass the roses to him.

He turns the tag over, reading it, "Aw, You belong with me, that's perfect! You do belong with me, Y/N!"

"I uh, I don't-"

"Let's go! We have more places to go on our date!" Yeongsun cheers. He hands her the roses and rushes her out the door.

(Your POV) [If you don't like angst you can skip to the next chapter :D]

"Yeongsun! Yeongsun!" You call as he drags you through the crowds, "slow down!"

"What? We have so many more places to go!"

"No.. I don't want to." You sighed.

"Why? Don't tell me it was because of that guy back there," He groans, "He was totally eying you"

"Yoongi?"

"Yeah, was that what his name was? You shouldn't talk to people like him. He seems like trouble."

He grabs your hand again and continues to lead you away from the flower store. Again, you force him to stop.

"Yeongsun, what is this all about? Why do you keep taking me places, or telling people we're on a date?"

He turns to you, "Isn't that what this is? You agreed to this."

"I agreed to hang out with you," you stumble back, "that didn't mean I wanted to go on a date with you. I don't like you that way, Yeongsun"

"C'mon Y/N, you don't have to pretend. I've heard what your mom tells me. You don't have a boyfriend, you hardly have friends, you spend all your time trapped up in that dumb cafe or writing your book. You keep living through old memories of your childhood, of us."

"I,.. what..." you murmur, "you thought that way?"

"We can all see it. You're afraid to try anything new because you don't want to see it fail," He brings a hand to your chin and forces your eyes to meet his, "I've loved you for a long time, Y/N. I know you love me too. Stop pretending"

"No I don't Yeongsun. Cut it out." You pull yourself away from him, stepping back a bit.

"You really don't like me?" He scoffs.

"No! I never did! I thought we were friends.."

"Oh..." He looks down, "W-We can still be friends, then?"

"I don't know. I don't... I don't think we can anymore" You drop the flowers and walk the opposite direction.

Falling for You (JHOPE)

Hoseok stands idle in the locker bay, watching her from afar. She grabs her notebooks and slams the door shut, promptly walking away to class.

"What are you- oh" Jimin says as he tracks Hoseok's gaze.

"What?!" He jumps in surprise. Awkwardly, he fixes his hair and adjusts the straps of his backpack.

"Dude, if you like her, why not just ask her out?"

"I don't like her! N-not like that. We're just... friends"

"When was the last time you talked to her"

Hoseok pouts, "I... haven't"

"Well then," Jimin straightens his back, "you wouldn't mind if I asked her out?"

He jumps, "y-You're not... not really her type. I wouldn't" the bell for class suddenly rings out. Hoseok begins racing to his class, yelling out a quick, "I gotta go! I'll talk to her today!"

He then proceeds to drop his notebook, and then trip directly after picking it up. Flashing a thumbs up to Jimin, he stands and continues the race.

Jimin smiles softly, "you got this, Hobi"

-----

Hoseok shuffles into class late.

"Jung Hoseok, you're late again," the teacher scolds, "one more and you'll have after school detention"

"Sorry.." he stumbles to his seat in the back. Glancing to where you sit by the window, he sighs. You're busy highlighting your notes, and didn't even notice him. Do you ever notice him?

Class seems to go by quickly, but maybe that's just because he fell asleep. Suddenly, that wretched bell is screeching through the small classroom.

Hoseok is sleepily walking to the door to exit, when a book falls flat at his feet. He goes to pick it up. Unfortunately, he drops his books as well, making a mess.

"Ah, I guess I just made it worse" he laughs, "maybe I'm not the one to be..."

He looks up to see who he's talking to, finding your eyes staring back at him.

"...helping"

"Two peas in a pod, aren't we?" You laugh.

You sit down next to him and sort the books.

"I'm Y/N" you said.

"I kno- I mean, I am.." He stutters out, mesmerized by your smile, "I'm Hobi"

He doesn't even realize he offered you his nickname until the syllables spill out sweetly from your lips.

"It's lovely to meet you, Hobi"

With a smile, you stand and walk out of the classroom, leaving Hoseok lovestruck on the ground with his pile of books.

----

"Ugh, why does math always have to assign so much homework?" He mutters to himself as he opens his math book.

As he works his way through the assigned problems, he finds a slip of notebook paper folded between the pages. He curiously opens it, finding a drawing of his side profile. You must have sketched it while he was asleep in class today.

The drawing is paired with a short note: I can't seem to tell you how I feel in person, so this is the best I can do. I like you, Jung Hoseok.

His smile grows into a big grin, eyes shimmering, "she's liked me all this time?"

He lovingly holds the drawing to his chest, pacing around his room.

"Wait," He stops, "did she... drop her books on purpose?"

-----

"So she beat you to it?" Jimin laughs.

"Don't make fun of me! I still talked to her, didn't I?"

"Sure.." he laughs. Something catches Jimin's eye in the distance, "it looks like you'll get another chance"

"What? When?" Hoseok asks.

On cue, Jimin walks away. Hoseok's eyes focus, and he gasps as soon as he sees you walking towards him. It must have really shocked him, because he steps on his shoelace and falls face-flat on the ground. His math textbook falls from his hands. The carefully-folded drawing he cherished also flies out right as Y/N got to him.

Her eyes widen. He makes a grab for the drawing, but she scoops it up quicker and hides it in her pocket.

"Wait! Give it back, I-"

"N-no.. it's stupid. It was a dumb idea" she looks away.

"Hey!" Hoseok defends, "it was not dumb! I loved it, and it was a perfect way to confess! It was unique, it was you"

She looks at him a bit confused, probably thinking something along the lines of, so do you like me back? Or do you just like my drawing?

He brushes off his knees and stands. Trying to muster up as much confidence as he can, he says, "I like you, and I know that I haven't had many proper conversations with you, but I've been watching you for a while and... no! That sounds weird. What I mean is- I notice when you talk in class, I love your smile, especially when you laugh, I always check to see if you notice me, and I wish I didn't fall so much in front of you"

You stand there shocked. Hesitantly, you pull the drawing out of your pocket and hold it out to him with both hands. He takes it gracefully. You two stand there for a moment, just two kids in love.

Then the bell rings. "We're going to be late!" You say.

"That's okay. I don't wanna miss this moment"

You walk together through the empty hallways.

"So, I didn't know you were an artist!"

"I dabble. Now, I have to know, do you fall so much in front of every girl?"

"No, I save that just for you"

Sunlight peers in from the windows as two pairs of shoes tap through the halls. Notes of their laughter can be heard, soft echoes on the hazy afternoon. In this moment of bliss, Hoseok thought, falling really isn't so bad when it's into love.

Coffee and Violets (SUGA) CH8 - Soft Rain

(WARNING: Some angst stay positive y'all :])

(Your POV)

You stumbled out of bed, alarm blaring. A fuzzy light filtered through the blinds and into your messy apartment. After the last few days, normally you would've stayed home again. But the cafe was already closed yesterday while you were out with Yeongsun, and you can't keep it closed for much longer.

You figured it'd be good, get your mind off things. So you had breakfast, got dressed, and walked to the cafe.

The morning air was cold, morning dew fresh and your footsteps echoing through the empty streets. You sighed as you opened the door to the cafe. The flower shop next door wasn't open yet, and most people weren't out. The day had barely even started, but when you have to make everyone else's coffee you have to be up before them.

Because when you're busy saving everyone else, who is left to save you?

You drank your coffee black and bitter this morning. It seems silly, being so heartbroken from something that hardly even started. Maybe what you missed was just the excitement of something new and different. But old is okay. The usual is comfortable. The very reason you've stopped reaching out and messaging friends and meeting new people. Someone has to forget to respond first. Someone has to care less. Someone has to move on. And it's never you.

The glass panes reflect the empty cafe, but your imagination finds something else in them. The image of Yoongi and Minsoo together. Laughing together, being together. Why is it that you've never been on a date? Why has no one asked you? Maybe everyone else is just busy. Maybe there was an odd number of soulmates and you were left. Maybe plans don't always go according to plan and you just have to be happy for everyone else who is.

Ring! Ring!

You look up at the bell that just rang as someone walks into the cafe.

(Yoongi POV)

Hoseok barges into my room at 5:30.

"C'mon... It's too early..."

"No, Yoongi! You don't get to do this. You don't get to give up all hope and hide away from everyone. I'm not letting you go there again"

I sigh, "She loves someone else, Hoba. You saw them together. She's just a nice person who was kind to me once  and I'm the fool to try and build something on such a small act"

"Then fall in love with someone else! At least get out of bed. Feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to make you feel any better, huh?"

As Hoseok leaves, I shrug the covers off and drag myself out of bed. He's right, and the shop needs us. I can't drop everything just because of a girl. Though I'd do it for her.

We arrive at the shop a while later. I start to set things up for the day.

"I'm gonna go grab us some coffee, 'kay?" Hoseok said.

I nodded in response, watching as he walks out the door and into the cafe. Her cafe.

Memories flash back of her and him,.. what was his name, Yeongsun? She seemed so shy with him, like he made her nervous. Was it because she liked him so much? Why can't she like me that much? Maybe it's because I do stuff like this. Dwell over those I hardly knew. She might as well be an angel, there's no way a girl like her would fall for someone like me. She deserves better.

"Good news!" Hoseok yells as he runs back into the cafe.

(Your POV)

You look up at the bell that just rang as someone walks into the cafe.

"Hi Y/N!" Hoseok calls as he walks over to the counter.

You start preparing his usual, "Hey"

"So... how'd the date go yesterday?" He asks.

You groan, "Ugh.. terrible. It- Here's the thing, it wasn't even supposed to be a date!"

"What?" He asks, leaning forward. You guys had your fair share of gossip, so this was nothing new.

"Yeah! We used to be neighbors, so he just came to drop something off from my mom. He suggested we go out and have lunch together, so I agreed. Then he was like, flirting the whole time?"

"No..."

"Yes. And it was only supposed to be lunch, but he was dragging me around to all these other places and would keep telling people we're dating"

"Gee, I'm sorry Y/N! That's awful. What did you end up doing?"

"I told him he was too much, he insulted me a bit, I walked away and cried at my apartment" You chuckled bitterly, "but it's fine. Gotta keep the shop runnin', am I right?"

He nods, "Yeah, that's what I had to tell Yoongi this morning"

You focus in at the sound of his name, "Yoongi? What about him?"

"Oh, he..." Hoseok fumbles.

"He was here a few days back with Minsoo... did they fight and break up or something?"

"No, they weren't actually dating either," He assures, "He's never been good friends with Minsoo, it's just that she's so persistant, y'know?"

"Ah..." You mumble, deep in thought.

"I think you might want to see Yoongi, I feel like there was some confusion?" He questions.

"y-yeah! Do you know if he's free later?"

"Oh, he's free right now"

(Yoongi POV)

"Good news!" Hoseok yells as he runs into the cafe.

"What?"

"She can tell you herself!" He says as Y/N shyly walks in behind him, two coffees in her hands.

She hands me one, "Can uh, can we um.."

"Let's go in the back" I suggest.

She follows behind. We sit next to each other, avoiding eye contact.

"So," She starts, "You aren't dating Minsoo?"

"NO! No, god no. She is.."

"Yeah, that's probably for the best" She laughs. I smile at her.

"But uh, you were with-"

"No, I'm not with Yeongsun. That was a mistake"

"Oh" I look down, trying to hide my grin, "w-what happened? If you don't mind me asking,"

She sighs, "He's just a neighbor, it wasn't even supposed to be a date. He just suggested it as lunch, since I thought we were friends"

She told the rest of the story as we drank our drinks.

"I'm sorry, Y/N. That sounds really upsetting"

"Yeah, I just-" She pauses to look at the rain that started pouring out the window, "I don't know why relationships have to be so hard. I feel like..."

"like you distance yourself from people, and the second you meet someone new you become attached?" I finish before I can even think about the truth I was spilling.

She looks at me, a faint smile growing on her face, "yeah"

"I know how that feels"

We stay quiet for a few seconds. Or minutes. Or however long. We drank our coffee, looking out the window at the stormy day outside.

"listen, Yoongi, I-" She stops to look down at her watch, "Shoot! I gotta go! The cafe opens in just a few minutes!" She quickly grabs her coat and begins rushing out of the room.

"Wait-" I call out. She turns around, "Uh, I..." Is now really the time to tell her how I feel? Just because she doesn't love him doesn't mean she likes me. I don't want to get the signals wrong again, "Let me walk you back"

"Yoongi, I'm just going next door"

I smile at my name in her mouth, "Well, yeah. But it's raining"

Just Pretend (BEOMGYU) CH6 - Another Faded Polaroid

*NOTE: THIS STORY IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE MEMBERS IN REAL LIFE, IT IS PARTLY BASED ON THE CONTENT FROM THE MUSIC VIDEOS AND COMPLETELY FICTIONAL!! They're not actually mean it's just for the story 😭

Just Pretend (BEOMGYU) CH6 - Another Faded Polaroid

(BEOMGYU POV)

It's lunch break, and I walk behind my friends on the sidewalk. I force a laugh and smile whenever they turn to me, but for the most part, I'm in my own world right now. I enjoy talking to Y/N, it's the only time I can talk about myself without judgement. My friends... I haven't tried talking to them about it. I have a feeling they wouldn't know what it's like to walk into a room and know everyone, and yet not a single seat has been saved for you.

As for my father, he always seems angry at me. I think he thinks I'm on the wrong track, and forcing me to think 'practically' is helping me so I don't regret my choices later. I just wish he had more faith in me, so he wouldn't assume that my choices are ones I'd come to regret.

I don't know Y/N that well. I don't know why she asked me to be her date to prom, she could've asked anyone. Maybe she figured I wasn't going with anyone else, which starts my racing thoughts. Worries of can everyone else see my insecurities? Is it obvious? Can everybody tell that I don't know what the hell I'm doing? I don't know.

And I do feel sometimes like I shouldn't be so honest with her. But, every time I turn to her, she always seems like she's listening to every word I say.

And right now, I just need someone to talk to.

"Beomgyu, you listening?"

"Huh?" I lift my head.

"So, I wanna give you another chance. I haven't told Minji yet, so you can still go out with her friend!"

I stumble over my words, "I-, I thought I said I wasn't interested"

Yeonjun laughs, "well, yeah, but that's just cause Y/N was there. It's nice of you to try to spare her feelings, but she's holdin' you back, bro"

"It had nothing to do with her. I just don't have time for something like that.. right now" I stammer.

"C'mon man, we all know she has a crush on you"

My face flushes, "why would you even SAY that? Y/N just-"

"You can be so oblivious," Yeonjun sighs, "Y/N is WAY obsessed with you. But don't miss out on something good because you're pitying her"

I grit my teeth, "I'm not pitying her. And I don't want to date your friend. I already told you"

Under my breath, I mutter, "sometimes, I don't even want to be your friend"

My friends stop as Yeonjun takes a firm step towards me, "what did you say to me?"

Suddenly, I no longer feel like the lost boy who stuck with friends who were no good for him because he was lonely. A rush of confidence takes over as I smirk, "Yeonjun, I'm starting to think you have a listening problem.

Or is it just your ego?"

He strides towards me, "what makes you think you can talk back to me? You think you're so cool now that one girl looks your way?"

"You always walk all over me like I'll come running back. Like you're better than me. What makes you think you can talk back to me?" I mock, "last I checked, this is just how you and me talk to each other now, Yeonjun"

He pushes me down to the sidewalk, "c'mon guys. Let's go"

And they follow behind him. Just like I knew they would. I look at the scrapes on my hands, then to their backs as they walk away.

Well, I knew this was going to happen eventually, right?

-----

(2 Days Later)

It's been a while since I've been to school. I didn't want to have to face Yeonjun. Or the others. I wanted them to think I was strong, and that their words couldn't hurt me. I felt like... if they saw me cry, they'd use it against me. In the moment, I felt like none of it hurt. Like it was the end of an era of pain and bottled-up feelings and tolerating it because it was all I had. They were all I had.

It was more than any one moment could capture, it was the culmination of many moments that I told myself weren't worth fighting over. Times when I'd get talked over. Times when I wasn't invited, and they'd come up with some excuse as to why. When there was a separate group chat. When I wasn't there for the inside jokes that, apparently, can't be retold. But it wasn't always this way.

Me and Yeonjun had been friends for years, way before the rest came along. We would spend so long just talking. I felt like he got me better than anyone else could. Then the rest came. It wasn't all at once, but slowly, more and more people were added to our friend group. I no longer felt like I was Yeonjun's best friend, even though he was mine.

Up until a few days ago, he still was.

He didn't use to care so much about what other people thought of him. Something changed. He wanted to be cool, he wanted respect, he wanted to get the girl he'd been chasing for years. And I was just someone from his past. Another faded polaroid. And he never wanted to take a new one.

So, I tried to make new friends. Tried to talk to others, break into the conversation. It seemed like having friends that treated me poorly was still better than being all on my own.

I went back to them. I accepted that I'd be walking in the bike lanes while they stayed on the sidewalk. I learned how to look busy when they were telling a joke I wasn't there for. I learned to be less so they could be more. So they could take more. Because on the outside, no one can tell that I don't have friends. No one can tell that inside, I'm still on the outside. And I thought that could be enough. It would have to be.

I haven't told her, but I noticed Y/N from the beginning. It was all so familiar. The panicked glances at the announcement of a group project, the seat in the back of the room, the headphones that weren't plugged into anything. Maybe that's why I felt so comfortable talking to her, it was like I already knew her.

I hope my friends-, er... I hope my old friends didn't notice that my hands were still shaking as I talked back to them. I wanted them to think I was indifferent about it all, I wanted them to think that. But... I'm not strong. Once they'd fled, I cried my eyes out. Because even if it was for the best, it still hurts. So I haven't been to school in days because I don't know how I will act when I see them again.

———

For the first time today, I pull myself out of bed and walk into the kitchen. I reach for a glass and fill it with water. Then my dad walks in.

He clears his throat, "are you feeling any better?"

"Yeah" I mutter.

He walks to the stove and begins cooking something.

"I heard you were having some trouble with your friends"

"Who told you that?" I ask.

"Your mom" he clarifies.

"Oh" I said.

I sit at the counter and slowly drink my water. It's silent, besides the sounds of him cooking. However, it isn't tense like it has been in the past. Just a normal father and his son.

He breaks the silence, "Y'know, I get how you feel"

"You do?"

"I've had fights with friends before too. It's hard when you had people you could be yourself around, and then you have to walk past them like strangers" he continues, "did you fight, or just fall out of touch?"

"Well, Yeonjun's not the same anymore. He used to be so fun, but... now he's just weird and obsessed with being cool. I was getting annoyed at him walking all over me, so I told him that. And..."

"Yeah. 'S probably because he's insecure, lots of teens act that way" he turns down the heat on the stove, "but you shouldn't be around people that are bringing you down"

"Mhm" I stare into the glass.

It's not common for me to go to my dad for advice, but I'm finding that he does actually know how I feel pretty well.

"Hey dad?"

"Yeah?" He answers while turning to me.

"Will... will I ever make real friends?"

He ponders on it for a moment, "it's hard when you're young. I think as you get older, you'll meet new people and it's easier to find friends that you actually have fun with"

Then, I think of Y/N. She always listens to me, and she's funny and kind, and when I talk to her I never feel like I'm putting up an act.

"How do you get closer to someone that you're only kinda friends with?"

"Hmm, that's a hard question," my dad answers, "ask them questions. Get to know them. People like talking about themselves." He finishes the food he's cooking and grabs a bowl from the cabinet to put it in, "just be open to people. Don't close yourself off. Let people get to know you, and you'll find people that like you. People that you can be yourself around"

He passes the bowl to me, "I made you some soup"

I look down at the steam rising from the soup, "thank you, dad"

He nods and walks out of the kitchen. Just before he leaves, he says, "I hope you feel better soon"

I smile, "thanks dad"

Coffee and Violets (SUGA) CH4 - I’m Not Going

"Ugh, I'm just so sick of hearing the same music here all the time. I try to play lofi, but it gets repetitive. I try to play mainstream music, but it's too distracting. I need something to fit the cafe's cozy vibe, you know?" I complain to Hoseok.

He sips on his coffee, "Have you tried just having silence? And not playing music?"

"I have, but it makes the front of house so uncomfortable. Sometimes a group will stop talking and it's just silent. I don't want it to be awkward!"

"Hmm," He pauses, thinking through my problem, "Yoongi's actually really good with music. Have you thought about talking through it with him?"

"No way!" You spit out before you had the time to think. "He'd probably judge me or something... I hardly know him! I'll be fine, I just wanted to rant for a bit."

Hoseok doesn't seem to be listening, but instead staring at his phone. Scrolling through things before eventually bringing the phone to his ear and talking. Oh gosh, what is he doing now?

 "Hey, Yoongi?"

 "..."

"Yeah I'm just calling to ask you a favor"

 "...."

"Well I'm talking to Y/N right now! It's easier to just call"

 "..."

"Yeah, she needs new music for her cafe and was wondering if you could help"

"No I wasn't! Stop it! I'm not meeting up with him!" You angrily whisper as he continues to ignore you.

"Great! Then I'll send you the address. How does this Friday sound?" He puts a hand to the phone and whispers to you, "You're free Friday, right?"

"No, I am not! I'm not going!"

 "Yep she'll be there!"

 "..."

"Sounds good." He hangs up the phone and turns to you, smiling.

"What the hell was that?" you burst out yelling at him.

"He said he'll be there! He can help you with your problem. Isn't that great?"

"No. It most certainly is NOT great. I did not agree to this!" you sneered.

"Why are you so against this? You guys are friends. Unless..." He says.

"Unless? Unless what?" You say, calming down a little.

"Do you like Yoongi?" He questions, a smirk forming on his face.

You pause, breathless. I don't want to lie to him, but I also don't trust he'll keep it a secret. Yes, I like Yoongi, who wouldn't? That doesn't mean I want to go on a 'date' with him and risk completely embarrassing myself.

"You do!" He yells out, "You totally do! You paused!"

"Fine. I like him. Now what? This whole interaction is just going to be an embarrassing reminder that I'm nowhere near his type and that he will never like me."

Hoseok just laughs across from you, "I wouldn't be so sure about that."

"What do you mean?" you ask.

"Have you seen the way he looks at you? Maybe you aren't around him enough to know, but he doesn't act like that around just anyone."

"Act like what?" you ask, beginning to feel at least a bit hopeful. Sure, it's not true, but you still enjoy fantasizing a bit.

"like- smiling and stuff. It took forever to get him to run the shop with me, and he still refuses to talk to the customers. He mainly just puts together the bouquets and writes the poetry on the labels."

So he's the one that writes those... you think to yourself. "That doesn't mean he likes me, that's just how he acts around friends." You argue. Honestly though, you're just fishing. You want to hear more about how he likes you, even if it isn't true.

"Ugh. I'm done trying to convince you, Y/N. If you don't believe me, fine, but you are going to that date this Friday."

 "Where even is it?"

" _____ Restaurant." He informs you.

[AUTHOR NOTE: Sorry I don't know what to call the restaurant ._. just name it whatever you want]

"WHAT? THAT PLACE IS SO FANCY, AND EXPENSIVE?? I CAN'T AFFORD THAT." You yell.

"Don't worry, Yoongi will pay." He says.

"I don't want that! What if he can't afford it either? I'm sure you don't make that much money running a flower shop."

 "Are you calling us poor?"

"No no, and it's fine if you are it's just... I don't want to put him in an uncomfortable position."

"Don't worry about that Y/N. Just be there this Friday, and have a good time! You never know what could happen..." He smiles suspiciously.
