5 months ago vs. 15 minutes ago (:

I still haven’t watched many more DSMP streams, so I’ve never actually seen Revivebur outside of fan art, but I adore c!Wilbur’s character arc and concept. Five months ago I had done a quick portrait of him in an attempt to deal with art block, and did a similar thing a few days ago, finishing the second piece just today (as of writing this). (:

ID and some of the changes I made are under the cut! (: Critique is always welcome, and I hope you have a lovely day/night!

Changes Made:

I used a reference this time and it paid off in the hair and facial construction. The new neck and mouth are still a little weird though.

Wilbur is now facing forward, showing more of the stitches across his face and the patch of skin.

The anatomy is generally a bit better - the shoulders are a bit wider, and the lips are finally decent looking. The eyes are definitely more realistic and fit in better with the rest of the piece.

His clothes are a bit cleaner now, and his jacket is in a bit better shape. The pin however, is a bit more desaturated, to look older.

[ID: Two digital art pieces, portraits of the same character, Revivebur from Dream SMP. The portrait on the left is older, and Revivebur is wearing a tattered jacket with several visible tears and a patch on the lapel. He is facing towards the right, and his eyes sit high up on his face, leaving no room for the forehead. The second, newer portrait is on the right, and is much more realistic, with more desaturated skin tones, and a chip taken out of the glasses. End ID]

The Deathbell Spriggan

Art & Design Notes

Sorry about the lack of art for the past few days, I have some different art pieces/designs in various stages of completion, but irl stuff has kept me from being able to work on them enough to make much progress.

However, as part of some school work, I got to throw together a variant on the Elder Scrolls' Spriggan enemy. As a result, I have a new design, and too many thoughts about it.

Critique and other comments are always welcome! The ID is under the cut, after my design notes. (:

The Deathbell Spriggan

In vanilla Skyrim, there are three (3) different variations on the spriggan enemy: normal, burnt, & matrons. While they all have some differences, they share the following traits:

Brightly colored swarms of insects and warm light coming from their bodies

A set of antlers made of twisted and pointed branches

"Carved" faces

Sexualized feminine bodies

Decoration around the shoulders

The body is made of gnarled wood

While it's not necessary to follow every design convention, following most will insure that the new variation still reads as the same type of enemy. The main changes were made to the color palette and decorations around the bust. Desaturated birch bark would contrast the bright insects and flowers, and the gradients on the limbs (hopefully) draws attention to the face.

To make sure this variant stands out, rather than doing flame damage like the burnt version, its claws are slightly poisonous. They have the same ravage stamina effect as the deathbell flowers that grow on its body. If I make another, it can drain magika and round out the group.

[ID: A digital drawing, portraying a spriggan, from the Elder Scrolls series. Like most spriggans, it has a feminine body, with a hollow stomach cavity, and a body formed out of twisting wood. Unlike spriggans found in Skyrim, its legs end in points, and rather than having branches sprout from the collar bones, the rough shapes of deathbell flowers grow instead. One eye has been replaced by a swirl, done in black pen, unlike the rest of the sketch. Small lines from the sketch are visible under the art, though most have been blurred out.

The wood is white, with grey swirls, and dark gradients on the ends of the limbs and antler crown. The flowers are purple, with pink bases and blue ends. Gold mist hangs around the head and stomach cavity. End ID]

I Finally Finished Dr. Stein! (:

I finally finished Dr. Stein! (:

He took ages, mostly because I had to change the size of the hat about three different times, and I procrastinated for at least two weeks on making the final change because I didn't want to redraw the hand another time.

The ID is under the cut, along with a list of the stupid stuff our party has done. Critique is always welcome! (:

Stupid stuff we've done:

(For context, we're playing Curse of Strahd, so watch out for spoilers and mentions of drugs!)

The first thing our party did after arriving at Valaiki was to harass one of the people in the bar, who was high out of his mind. Stein stole his 3 gold, then after learning where the man got his drugs, paid the man back with those same coins.

Stein's player rolled a 1 for investigation while exploring the lower floor of the Witches' windmill. When opening the cupboard of baking supplies, he saw the sugar and flour, but thought the bone dust was cocaine.

Demne ate a combination of that "cocaine" and some of the questionable fluid in the cauldron in the center of the room.

Aust spent the almost the entire session as a spider. (It was my first time ever using wild shape, and I wanted to get the most out of it.) He only changed back after Dr. Stein was knocked out and Demne had been magically put to sleep, surprising the witches who never knew he wasn't just a weird spider.

We killed two of the witches by repeatedly knocking them down the stairs.

Aust (the chaotic neutral drow) was the only one who was against to handing Ireene over to Strahd for a thousand gold.

Our wizard collects the teeth from the corpses they kill.

Stein, who worked as a doctor and is one of the party's two healers, has the worst bedside manor out of everyone.

[ID: A digital drawing of a plague doctor, facing the camera and showing the entire body. No portion of his skin is clearly visible, as he is wearing a dark cloak and layered blue jacket. He is holding a crossbow up in his left hand, and is casting a spell in his right hand. End ID]
