Can you imagine how different the show would have been, if Jimmy had died while Castiel possessed Claire? Castiel would presumably still be walking around looking like a child. Imagine all that sass, strength and awkwardness coming from a 10 year old girl .. I feel like the whole dynamic of Team Free Will would be different (not to mention destiel would have to be non-existent). 

Imagine Castiel as in Claires vessel:

- Kicking Deans ass in an alley, yelling; “I rebelled for this?”

- Telling Raphael “-- But today you are my little bitch”

- Commanding an army of angels 

- Saying things like; “Should we get a cat?” and “We Should play Twister”

- Getting depressed and drinking a whole liquor-store (”Don’t ask stupid questions”)

- Helping Kelly and becoming a mother to Jack, even if he/she would look like Jack’s little sister

-  Trying to help Dean and Sam on cases, but not being able to pose as an FBI agent

- Getting frustrated because humans keeps calling him/her; “sweetheart”

- Becoming an equal member of TFW without getting looked at differently because of how he/she looked ..... ?

I can’t put my finger on exactly when I first saw the word cropping up in and around fandom spaces on the internet, but it was, at least

This article is two years old, but as I am learning about heteronormativity and queerbaiting I stumbled upon it, and found it very interesting, educational and (unfortunately) still relevant.

I have always found studies of gender norms and sexuality interesting, but I have decided to educate myself more on these subjects lately. And the more I read, the more fascinated (and frankly frustrated) I get.

And (getting back to the article) I really opened my eyes to these subjects when I started watching Supernatural and discovered “destiel”. This was only 6 months ago (!) and I am fully comitted, but still very naïve and uneducated. If anyone can recommend some articles or books, please let me know ❤️

i dont know when it happened but somewhere along the way “shipping” got a new meaning for younger folk that seems to translate to “i want these people together for real asap”. i think the media had something to do with it. but guys.

shipping absolutely Does Not mean demanding anything from people/creators. shipping isn’t about expecting and waiting for the day it will certainly happen. it is not a direct translation to Happen Or Die.

shipping means you like the idea of two (or more) people together. you like the concept. you find it fun to imagine the dynamics. you even create fanon content of it (fic, art, edits). it’s all in your head and it’s Fine that way.

is it nice to have a ship become canon? oh my god, yes. but that’s not what shipping is about and yall need to take a step back and breathe because being a jerk to people aint gonna change their mind about ships.

You know sometimes I think maybe romantic isn’t the right term for Dean and Cas. They are a cosmic item, always drawn together. They find each other in all dimensions: heaven, hell, purgatory, earth (the empty arguably). They’re something more. Then I remember Dean made Cas a Zeppelin mixtape and I’m like oh yeah these idiots are teenagers in love.
