Rexwalker Christmas fluff

He was wearing a soft sweater and watching the snow fall when he heard the door open.

"Cyare where are you?"

"I'm in the living room."

He sucked on a candy cane before looking up at Rex.

"Hey."

"Hello Cyare. What are you eating?"

"I'm eating a candy cane."

"Ani, those are for the tree."

He pouted before saying.

"I only had one."

Rex smiled before kissing his head.

"Are you cold?"

"I'm freezing."

"Okay Ani, I will start a fire and then we can snuggle."

"Yay."

Rex walked over and worked on trying to start a fire.

"How was work Rex."

"It was good. I got a lot of work done and at break I beat Cody at ping pong."

Anakin laughed.

"I'm happy to hear that."

Rex turned his head and smiled at him.

"I'm happy to have won."

Rex started the fire before sitting next to Anakin.

"Come here Cyare."

Anakin moved over until he was sitting on Rex's lap. Rex grinned before pulling him close and burying, his face in Anakin's soft curls.

He breathed in his husband's scent.

"You smell so good Ani."

"Thanks."

Rex held him close and smiled.

He was so lucky to have such an amazing husband. Especially when he felt Anakin cuddle closer.

He watched Anakin for a moment before looking at the snow.

He only looked down when he felt Anakin's breath even out.

He kissed his Cyare's head before leaning back and slowly falling asleep to the sound of Anakin's breathing.

The Dream Team.

Anakin ran away crying. He felt humiliated. He cried thinking about Rex getting money for kissing him. Was he really that bad? He ran into his room and closed the door.

He loved Rex but, he clearly didn't feel the same way.

Rex actually had to be paid money just to kiss him. He sobbed before saying out loud.

"I shouldn't have kissed him. I'm such an idiot."

"No one will ever love me. I'm stupid and useless. I don't deserve to be loved."

He sniffed.

"I'm so stupid, no one will ever love me. I don't want to be loved."

He wiped his eyes and splashed water on his face.

"From now on, I'm never going to love."

He took a deep breath while clenching his fingers.

"I'm okay. I'm okay. It doesn't matter anymore. What happened happened and nothing will change."

He wiped the tears that fell before.

He walked out of his room and started walking toward the bridge. He made sure to avoid as many people as possible.

He knew they would probably stare at him and laugh.

When he got onto the bridge he could feel everyone's eyes on him. He tried to ignore there whisper's. He quickly checked everything over. Before checking in with the medbay.

He tried to avoid people especially torrent company, but just his luck.

When he walked inside, he found Kix, Jesse, Fives and Echo huddled around talking.

When they saw him. They instantly stopped talking and stared.

Out of the group Kix was the first to speak.

"Are you injured?"

"No, I'm just coming to check in."

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Kix looked at his brothers.

"You don't look fine."

"I'm fine!"

He snapped it out this time. He could see his men back up in suprise.

He sighed before pinching his nose.

"I'm sorry, but I'm fine."

He turned his attention toward Fives.

"KP duty for a month. Also I want no more betting on this ship."

He could see Fives look of suprise before he turned around and moved on.

He didn't want to look at his men any more. He felt used by them and the wound was still fresh.

After that he mindlessly walked the halls before coming across the gym. He looked at it for a long moment trying to feel if anyone was inside. He sighed when he realized the gym was empty and he could release his pain.

He automatically grabbed his lightsaber to do katas but, decided against it. Instead he walked over to a punching bag and attacked it.

He punched the bag over and over getting lost in the rhythm. The pain had dulled after the first punches and now he just felt numb. Distantly he could feel his blood dripping to the floor.

He kept punching and punching until someone called out for him. Suprised he whirled around and saw Rex standing in the doorway looking concerned.

They stared at each other trying to see who would break first. Finally Rex walked forward and said.

"Your hand General."

He looked down at his bloody fists and just shrugged.

"It's fine."

"No it's not."

"Don't pretend to care."

Rex looked like he'd been slapped.

"What makes you think I don't care?"

He turned away bitterly.

"oh, I'm sorry, of course you care. You care about what you can get from me. Just like everyone else."

He looked over angrily and pointed at him.

"I'm guessing Fives and the rest of the 501st are beyond that door laughing. Did they bet you to come here. Is that it, my feeling are just some game to you."

He could feel tears in his eyes and willed them away.

Rex looked shocked.

"No one made me come. I'm worried about you General. I'm not worried about what you can do for me. I'm worried about you as a person.

"I'm sorry Rex, but I don't believe you. What you did earlier today broke my trust. I trusted you and you used me."

He shaked his head and dug his nails into his flesh causing it to bleed.

"General Skywalker I'm sorry. I didn't know about the bets, I swear."

He cried before saying.

"You broke my heart. I loved you and you broke my heart."

Rex looked at him in concern and walked over trying to touch his arm.

"Don't touch me. Stop using me."

He started sliding to the floor in tears.

"I just want someone to love me."

Rex's heart broke at the sight and he fell to the floor pulling him close.

"It's okay Anakin. I'm sorry I didn't know about the bets. When I kissed you it wasn't just because of the dare."

He stopped talking. Could he say it. Could he say those three words that would change everything. Could he cross that line.

He looked down at Anakin who was wrapped in his arms.

He could do it. He could do it for Anakin.

"I love you Anakin. The reason I kissed you was because I loved you."

He felt Anakin shudder before two beautiful blue eyes that were red around the edges looked at him with hope and desperation.

"Really?"

"Yes, I love you so much."

Anakin gave him a watery smile.

"I love you too."

He smiled and reached up to touch Anakin's face. He lightly traced his scar before kissing him.

Anakin kissed back a moment later and it was like fireworks.

He had never felt so happy in his life.

Anakin wrapped his arms around Rex's neck and brought him closer trying to press there body's together.

"I love you."

"I love you too Cyare."

Anakin smiled and all he could think about was how he wanted Anakin to smile at him just like that for the rest of there lives.

He kept telling himself that one day it would all somehow make sense.

The war had been going on for a little over a year and everyone was done.

He walked the halls of the Resolute looking at the faces of his men.

They were all tired of this war. There breaks becoming less and less. While the battle's are becoming harder.

They are all worn down there last campaign had been difficult and a lot of men had died.

So many men were killed in a war that they were forced to fight.

It seemed every day he was loosing more and more brothers. He wondered sometimes, if they would ever survive this war. If he would ever survive this war.

Sometimes he layed awake thinking about the life he could have with his Cyare where there is no war.

Where they don't have to hide from the council or from the GAR.

He walked the hallways. The quiet empty hallways that used to be filled with men but was now filled with ghosts of the past.

He paused in front of the medbay and walked in. He was instantly hit with the groans of dying men and the smell of antiseptic and blood.

He walked the aisles looking at each man remembering their faces and their names.

He knew some of them would not survive the night.

Kix stopped in front of him and pointed him toward his Cyare's bed.

His General and the man he loves lay motionless. He had been injured trying to save his men from an ambush.

He remembers cradling his unconscious form in his arms. Begging him to survive because he needed him.

His General who always helped other's. Who cared about his men almost died saving them.

He sat down and held Anakin's cold hand. His face was pale and he had big bags under his eyes.

He looked at his Cyare laying peacefully attached to a bunch of machines.

He turned his head away trying not to look at his failure.

It's his job to keep his General safe. That's what he was made for. He was expendable while his General was not.

He looked away but only came face to face with more of his failure. He looked at his men injured and dying before looking at his Cyare again and thinking about what it was all for.

But he knew deep down he would never get his answer. He would never know.

That's why he did the same thing he does after every battle. Pick himself up and keep telling himself that it would all someday make sense.

He stares at Fives. That can't be right. He must have misunderstood him. It sounded like he wanted to die. He was going to say that, but instead he just said.

What?

You heard me, I dare you to kiss the General. On. The. Lips.

Tup looked back and forth nervously.

Fives I don't think that's a good idea.

A smart trooper that is what Tup is. However Fives did not back down.

Kiss him Rex.

He turned his head away from a dead man and looked at his General. His General was bright red and chewing his bottom lip. Rex couldn't help but think he looked adorable and very kissable.

General?

Anakin's head snapped up to look at him.

Y-yes.

His General was so cute. Especially when he was blushing like that. But he had to push those thoughts away.

What do you want?

"I-I don't know.

"Can I kiss you?"

General Skywalker seemed to shrink into himself and was blushing even harder.

"Y-y-e-s."

He moved closer to his General until they were touching. Then he softly lifted his General's face so he was looking at him. After that he moved in until they were an inch apart before whispering.

"Are you okay with this."

"Yes."

He then moved his head in and softy kissed his General. It felt nice and he couldn't help but smile into the kiss because his General was kissing him back.

When he was kissing his General the whole world felt like it disappeared and it was only them. It felt perfect and so so right.

Sadly the moment was ruined by Fives who had decided to start clapping and laughing.

"Wow I didn't think you two would actually do it."

He and General Skywalker quickly pulled away when Fives started talking.

"I'm so glad you two decided to kiss. Now everyone bring out the bets let's see who won."

Both Rex and General Skywalker stared at Fives before General Skywalker spoke first.

"Bets."

"Yeah we made bets on whether or not you would kiss Rex. That reminds me here is your money for kissing the General."

"Money?"

General Skywalker sounded really hurt when he asked about he money and Rex looked over at General Skywalker to see that he was almost in tears. But Fives didn't notice.

"Yeah Rex gets money for kissing you."

Rex could see the moment that registered with General Skywalker because he looked like he had been slapped in the face and he had started crying.

"Excuse me." (Hick)

Fives lost his smile as General Skywalker stood up.

"I have to go."

"Hey wait, General your crying."

Everyone's head's had turned away from the money and we're now looking at General Skywalker. This caused him to start backing away quickly before running out of the room.

When General Skywalker ran he jumped up and glared at Fives and everyone else. Before running after his General.
