you’ve widened your eyes at the boy’s sudden confession, now afraid to peel them away from the sky dancing above you.

you’re afraid you might miss the rearrangement of the clouds that were always unnoticeable, even if it were just a mere second away. or maybe the bold change of colors in the sky that, were too, unnoticeable. you wanted to worry about missing anything but the slim chances of first love, even when yours has been— quite literally— standing before you your entire life.

you seem not to notice a lot of things.

laying down on the picnic blanket, you plan to close your eyes and pretend you've drifted off to sleep until you actually do, except in the far corner of your eye was a poor hueningkai staring back at you expectantly. “y/n?”

“he- hey! look at the clouds,” you managed to utter out, breath unsteady, “would you look at that. you like the color, don't you?”

“y/n,”

“huening,” you whined back in mimicry of his desperate tone. “but the clouds are moving. look at them. they-”

“y/n.” having had enough, hueningkai propped himself on his elbow to tilt your face upwards, blocking your view from the sky with his own face and brown tufts that slightly tickled your forehead. the tips of your noses brushed and you swore that if you two weren’t so close face-to-face then he would’ve easily made fun of how deepening red your cheeks were. “i like the color, but i don't love it.”

“but... but the clouds... they're...” you sighed in defeat, and the both of you knew that it wasn’t about the clouds anymore. “i'm... i'm… moving.”

kai smiled. “yeah, i know.” and swiftly, he's planted a kiss on your forehead before laying back down with a content shrug. “i'll wait.”

you’ve widened your eyes once again as you drummed your fingers onto the very spot that his lips have dared to touch. hueningkai chuckled at your expression and finally spared a glance at the sky. the clouds were moving. like a flock of sheep chasing in thrilled desperation for a place to call home. guided by its most beautiful imperfection of waves in slate blue, the flock was split into an endless count of row after row after row… were the clouds pink? they seem to have a peach hue kissed by the sun, almost. but you were right, he could get used to a color like this.

“you know i always will.” he murmured, slipping his hand into yours as a fit that was meant to be. your fingers intertwined and you unknowingly tightened your grip onto his.

watching christmas movies with enhypen <3

heeseung would surprise you with a movie night, blankets and pillows neatly spread out on his bed for you two. the only light in the room is a mini christmas tree you both decorated a few weeks ago, and the tv with The Santa Clause on pause. when the movie ends he’s sprawled out on top of you and rants about how he wishes he could push santa off the roof so he could become him, not forgetting to mention he’d definitely make you his mrs/mr. claus.

jay would kick everyone out of the living room and prepare everything, snacks and hot chocolate. he’d tangle your legs together and let you lay on him the whole time, if he doesn’t like the movie he won’t even make it obvious, because he likes you. throughout the movie he’d complain how he feels like santa, how he has many kids to get gifts for. he is definitely the type to end up snoring in your ear near the end of the movie, he’ll blame it on him just being that comfortable with you.

jake would wear matching christmas pajamas with you, he wouldn’t even be mad about it, saying how cute you two are all night. every time you make a comment throughout the movie he’ll (lovingly) put his hand over your mouth whispering a “shush, i wanna watch” in your ear, apologizing with a cheek kiss after. you’re watching the grinch and when the credits roll you look at him and he’s staring at the tv with tears in his eyes…

sunghoon would pretend to not want to watch the movie with you, he thinks it’s cute when you beg for him to watch it. once he thinks he’s bothered you enough, he’ll set everything up and have you rest against his chest. he’ll make you the christmas sugar cookies and hot chocolate as an apology. when you play the polar express he talks throughout the whole thing, giggling and making arguably horrible jokes. when the movie ends he says “that was fun let’s watch another”, laughing as you scoff at him.

sunoo would pull you into his bed and prop his ipad onto a spare pillow. he laid out christmas themed blankets and had some fairy lights hanging from his bunk bed, him heavily apologizing for the small space. he cuddles into you after turning on a hallmark movie, excited to make fun of them with you. he laughs every time you both make correct guesses about how the movie will end up, screaming about everything being so predictable.

jungwon would hold onto your arm as you watched Elf, singing along to the whole soundtrack together and dancing to the music. he doesn’t mind the conversations you have throughout the movie, he’s the one to start them if anything. he’ll randomly start talking about how he never liked sitting on a random santa’s lap, how he always knew he wasn’t the real santa. as soon as the movie ends he’ll collapse on you and talk about how much he loves christmas, and you.

niki would steal the remote and play home alone, grabbing your shoulders and shaking you happily. he’ll sneakily glance over at you throughout the movie to make sure you’re watching and paying attention, especially when his favorite parts come up. he’ll hesitantly agree to wear matching pajamas and will make his bed all comfy for the movie. if you end up falling asleep on him he’ll fill his camera roll of your sleeping face and won’t even be mad you passed out on him, cuddling you closer and resting his head on top of yours.
