And when the kid goes through the "hating my parents" phase and tries to tell Bernard that he isn't their dad, Bernard just doesn't let it phase him. Instead he pulls out the adoption papers that the kid does sign because yes they want Bernard to be their dad!! But the kid fails to realize their "your not my dad" argument now doesn't work on Bernard because he is, Infact their father.

Like imagine the interaction as school pick ups with the Karen mom's that are like
