Not only does Bernard know, but he purposely tells Tim of his Batman theories that are this close from the truth, or all completely true, but the end result is completely far off, just to see how Tim reacts each time.
can we all collectively agree we really don't want to see Bernard fall into the trope of "I'm going to get angry at my partner for not telling me their identity"?
not only does that seem wildly out of character but I might actually break into the writer's home and bite their dog.

too many people saying “tim should break up with bernard and date kon.” ALSO too many people saying “tim and bernard and kon should all date each other.” not nearly enough people saying that tim and bernard should continue to date and bernard and kon should like, actually get along. like they all go to the arcade together. they take road-trips and have movie nights and text each other stupid pictures to make each other laugh. and bernard gets to be the damsel in distress and get rescued by robin all the time, and then eventually of course tim reveals his identity to him and bernard is like, so psyched because he’s dating robin, and he’s friends with superboy. and bernard keeps getting himself into shit and robin keeps rescuing him, and bernard totally plays up the damsel in distress act and then gets to go back to titans tower and watch movies and eat pizza and fight with superboy over the last slice and fall asleep on robin’s chest before the credits roll and it’s great. and then one day bernard ends up in peril and robin can’t make it, so it’s superboy who shows up. it’s superboy who reaches out a hand to pull bernard back from the ledge and bernard takes his hand and knows he’s safe now but then there’s like, a moment. and bernard would probably miss it if he hadn’t spent so much time around kon by now, but for a split second there’s something completely blank on superboy’s face, and his grip on bernard loosens just a little, and in that moment bernard realizes that he’s thinking about dropping him. he’s thinking about how easy it would be to just. let go. bernard’s only human. he’s fragile in a way that none of the rest of them are and he’s really, really easy to kill. and then it would just be tim and kon. tim and kon making the high score on the ddr machine at the arcade. tim and kon watching movies and eating pizza back at the tower. nobody in their way. no bernard in his way. and like obviously kon doesn’t let go. he rescues bernard and tim comes just in time to pull bernard into like the biggest bone crushing hug and to sob into his shoulder and whisper i thought i lost you, and it’s only bernard that will look at kon then, and see all the pain and longing and rage that everyone else somehow never noticed. and they’ll go back to the tower and put some cheesy 80s movie on the tv, and tim will fuss over bernard all night long, and every time he plays with bernard’s hair or kisses his cheek, bernard will look at kon and see that same stony expression. that same look of resignation that he can never have the thing he wants the most, and bernard will wonder if kon saved him because he actually likes him, and it was the right thing to do, or if he weighed the options and realized that if he had let go tim never would have forgiven him. that for all his godlike powers, tim would still never choose him.

Oh my god. There was a fanfic in AO3 where this exactly happens, and it's so beautiful, amazing, gorgeous, amazing, one of a kind, jaw dropping, amazing-
Not to give any spoilers or anything, but Bernard basically becomes possessed by Dionysus, and Tim and the Batfam and Superboy try to bring Bernard back, and it's amazingly written with flashbacks that integrate beautifully into the story for context, plot, and to increase suspense!! There's obviously way more, but I won't say for spoilers.
I left kudos and everything, but I forgot the name (like a fake-fan)!!! I'm actually on my way to trying to find and cry to it again. I'll drop the name and author when I do.
What if Tim didn’t arrive on time to save Bernard tho? 🫣
I just think a Dionysus possessed Bernard would be so interesting plot wise.

Yeah. I'm ship them. I'm well aware that they only became canon because the writers wanted it that way, not because the majority of fans wanted it.
But I think we all know what it forced ship. Who were never supposed to be a couple anyway, but the writers decided otherwise, so now they're canon. And usually looking at these ships, you can feel how uncomfortable they are with each other. You can see how closed off and awkward they are with each other. How ill-matched they are and how out of place they are in that relationship. Despite some supposed efforts by the writers, but they just look very artificial when they're trying to squeeze out their deepest love for each other and pretend that's the way it's meant to be. And just literally everyone realizes that couple these characters is just impossible as canon.
But Timber don't fall into that category. Surprisingly their dynamic is very genuine and real. I don't sense any unnaturalness or falseness in their love. They are insanely comfortable with each other. The fact that Tim feels safe in Bernard's arms, and basically with him. And Tim considers going to an amusement park or a movie as something exciting and fun, even though that these are quite ordinary places to go on dates, but Tim life in general is a living hell, so the relationship with Ber is like some kind of island of normalcy and safety for him. Like, with him he can just enjoy life and the ordinary pleasures of youth. And writers could easily have gone the way of irritating clichés, like, Bernard might not have known that Tim was Robin and end up resenting him for withholding that information. Or he could have been jealous of Tim's superhero life and demand attention. But in the end, Bernard the most understanding boyfriend ever. It's such a thrill to see such an adequate and accepting person for whom the only thing that matters is that Tim okay and happy. But it's also very noticeable that they are an important part of each other's lives. This is especially evident in Tim. Like, my boy a hero with a lot of problems that go way beyond the problems of normal people, but he'll always make time for his boyfriend. Yah, by and large all of their dates are planned, but that's also what it means that they're an important part of each other's lives that they make special time for. And looking at them you really see that they are fucking love and appreciative of each other.
I don't love Timber for HOW their relationship turned out, I love them for WHAT their relationship turned out to be.
Dick in Gotham handling a hostage situation at a local university. Some villain crashed a party in the student apartments and has the whole building locked down. Dick is in there with Damian, and they finally make it to the floor where the bad guy is and they’re having this big tense stand off before the final fight…
and then one of the college students who this guy had huddled in the corner grabs a chair and just fucking clocks this guy. He hits him over the head so hard that the chair breaks and the guy COLLAPSES. Dick is like . Oh??
And then the student turns around (with a truly unhinged glint in his eye) and Dick recognizes him and realizes OH . Oh this is Tim’s boyfriend. That’s the crazy guy who recruited us to go beat up cultists with him. Yeah we didn’t even need to come he had that handled actually
Bruce, running his plan for an undercover operation past the batkids chillin in the living room while post-‘knowing secret identities’ Bernard is there: -and then we will hustle the information out during pool, start stakes low and give them a false sense of security before winning
Bruce: obviously Tim will do that part
Bernard: Tim sucks at pool tho? He can barely make any in and, hell, I made it into culinary school with how many times I was sent to the kitchen to shoot after he hit the cue ball in
Dick: Tim? Our Tim? The one who wins every time? Who was the cause of the rule in the mansion against us ever playing pool
Damien: such a baby, gets stabbed one too many times by sore losers and just has to ruin it for the rest of us
Duke: Tim has hustled all of us outta so much money that at this point it is a part time job for him
Bernard: ??? Tim never wins against me?
All turning to Tim:
Tim, face completely red: he- he always gets so excited when he is winning and he just looks so cute- and his trash talk is basically just flirty banter- and it’s not my fault when he looks like THAT
Tim, shrugging: he just has an unfair advantage over the rest of you, like maybe if any of you were attractive you would start winning pool more too
Jason: and he wonders why he’s been stabbed so many times
Tim: so… what’s your body count?
Bernard: uhhh, like four I think??
Tim: huh, I thought you said you slept around a lot after high school?
Bernard: OH you meant that body count. yeah no that’s closer to fifty
Tim: … Bear what the fuck

tim and bernard who break up and it's nothing big, no one cheated or anything. it's just their lifestyles didn't work out well together. tim cannot give up vigilantism currently and bear cannot handle the level of danger tim puts himself in. and on the other hand, tim cannot handle the fact that bear chooses to run into danger as an emt bc he already worries about everything but now he has to worry if he'll find his boyfriend convulsing from fear gas in a random alley but also bear who felt the life drain out of darla cannot stand the thought of not helping people and runs headfirst into dangerous situation after dangerous situation hoping that every person he saves can somehow make up for the fact that he could not save darla.
(he very pointedly does not think about the fact that there was nothing he could do because if he thinks about that, he'll spiral until they have to lock him in arkham too)
and so they break up but they were tim & bernard in high school and when they started dating they balanced out the worst of each other and they became tim&bernard. and everyone who knows them, knows that they're better together but they cant be together, they refuse actually because they cannot lose another person to the violence of gotham and by the time they figure out that they cant work together as long as the other is an emt or vigilante, it's too late for both them. they've already left too many pieces of themselves in each other.
tim still knows what bear means when he says "tim" in that exasperated voice. tim still goes boneless when he hears bear say "baby" in that firm tone. bear can still read tim like a book. he still knows the right way to massage tim's neck so that tim can go to sleep. everyone at the first responders gala knows not to bother ceo drake-wayne and senior emt dowd when they're talking.
(and if they're standing a little too close to each other than what is normal, who are they to judge? everyone knows that dowd and drake-wayne have history)
and if everyone on the night shift has caught red robin with his head tucked into the crook of emt dowd's neck as emt dowd runs a soothing hand up and down the vigilante's back, well then, they just quietly back away.
(after all, dowd's one of like, five, emts that can get the bats to receive medical treatment so if turning a blind eye to whatever the fuck they have going on is what allows them to give back to their heroes, then the night shift will do it every time)
and of course, tim and bear are practical people. they loved (love) each other sure, but when your lives are fundamentally incompatible, well, you cant get too stuck on the what-ifs, that's for sure. and so they do find love with other people and yeah, maybe it's not what they expected love to be when they first fell in love with each other. it's not the bubbly, stomach-swoopy, cant stop grinning, feeling that permeated tim&bernard's early days or the i Know you/you Know me that was their middle or the quiet despair that was their end but it is contentment. and in a life with as many losses as theirs, contentment is something they hold dearly
and they're happy! truly! but sometimes, at galas when they're making each other snort champagne out their noses or in darkened alleyways when their clothes are both stained with blood or at rallies for stricter gun regulations in gotham where they both sit too close to each other, fingers enclosed around each other in a death grip, when the presenters inevitably bring up grieves
(worst school shooting in gotham in decades, there's blood on their hands and blood in their mouths and darla is dead in between both of them and there is a chasm so wide that they are screaming to get their voices across and she will always be dead and maybe this had always been the problem that she is dead and there is no coming back from that and that there is blood on their hands and blood in their mouth and blood on their han-)
but sometimes, most especially on opposite sides of the street, as life pulls them in different directions, just sometimes, they see each other and just for a second, nothing too long, the flap of a hummingbird's wings, the time it takes to blink, an electron's orbital, they look at each other and for the briefest moment, blue on brown, a barely noticeable stutter in their steps, the space between heartbeats, because this is all they will give themselves because they do not dwell on what-ifs or what-could-have-beens, or what-should-have-beens, or delusions of a softer world, their eyes meet and they think to themselves, god, in another life, i would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with him.

Timkon clone baby au except it's timberkon.
Let me explain: timkon clone baby au happens exactly as expected, except that Bernard still enters the relationship at some point. Timkons clone baby is still young so when Bernard joins and is immediately ready to be father #3 it's almost like breathing how easily it happens. It's funny because timkon is obviously great with their baby, but regardless their kid loves Bernard more. Not because he's fun and will do anything but because Bernard is just more fun to listen to? It doesn't make sense but Bernard conspiracy theory history makes him really good at keeping people's attention and it works great on the kid so they end up spending a bunch of time with Bernard. If Tim can't get them to sleep Bernard can. If Kon can't get them to do their homework Bernard can. It's just how it goes. And when the kid gets older? They are even closer cause Bernard is immature at heart and loves to do stupid stuff with their pre teen kid. Do they both get scolded by Tim later? Absolutely. But will they do it again? 100%. And when the kid goes through the "hating my parents" phase and tries to tell Bernard that he isn't their dad, Bernard just doesn't let it phase him. Instead he pulls out the adoption papers that the kid does sign because yes they want Bernard to be their dad!! But the kid fails to realize their "your not my dad" argument now doesn't work on Bernard because he is, Infact their father.
Like imagine the interaction as school pick ups with the Karen mom's that are like
: um thats not your kid
Bernard, picking up timkon kid from day care: excuse me?
: your not their parent you can't pick them up
Bernard: I have no idea what your talking about. I birthed them. There was no adoption process here. This is MY CHILD.
