Here's an idea for a twist on the hanahaki trope: it's non fatal. On top of that, it's not caused by unrequited love, it's caused by any romantic love. It's the universe's way of kicking people in the ass and telling them to just tell the person how they feel already. Whether the other person reciprocates or not, the condition goes away once the feelings are confessed.

It becomes traditional to confess one's love by presenting a bouquet of the flowers you've been hacking up.

duckobos originally arose from blue chocobos as a spontaneous sub breed. As such, the original duckobos all had blue plumage. these days duckobos come in the full range of chocobo breed colors thanks to selective breeding.
