So... King’s Tide is quite the episode, huh? Honestly, I think it was a really cool season finale.

Anyway, I’m seeing a lot of people compare The Collector to Majora/Skull Kid from the Legend of Zelda, which makes sense, The Owl House feels like it’s got a lot of inspiration from LoZ. Although, as someone who hasn’t played a lot of Zelda games, I personally don’t get a similar vibe between the characters.

I personally get more of a Peter Pan feeling, and I’m not talking about the Disney version. The Collector makes me think more of the original, and honestly darker, version of the characters from the book that the Disney versions is based on.

A boy who never grew up who, whether intentionally or not, causes mischief and mayhem with the games that he plays. Whose shadow was once separated from their physical body. Harmed those who they came to no longer see as friends.

Story time!

I collectively refer to these three drawings as "The Joke That Went Way Too Far". This is because they were never meant to be a serious fleshed out art piece, but then the drawing that is now my icon happened.

This whole story began with me being bored and deciding to do a quick rough drawing of majora as a Keaton. I was doing it mostly as a joke. I had no clue that this quick sh#tpost of a doodle would lead to me spending uncountable hours on a single art piece.

So anyways yeah these are 3 drawings of majora as a Keaton. The first one I drew uses the color palette from the original official art of majora, it's the one where the tails are all the same. The second one I drew uses the color palette from botw, so it has more hydrated colors. I spent more time on the detailing on that one. The last one I drew is the headshot. I originally started drawing it as a way to better visualize how the markings would look on a canine head. Somehow I found myself spending a truly ridiculous amount of time putting the most effort into shading I have ever done on it.

Looking back, I'm really glad that I ended up making these drawings. The two side profile drawings are super rough, but they were never meant to be fully finished art.

So I was looking through my art I made before I joined tumblr and remembered my ultimate masterpiece:

I JUST HAD A THOUGHT

So I have a drawing of a possible sword spirit for the feirce diety's sword I recently finished and I'm planning on doing more for various other magical swords throughout the loz series, and I suddenly got a possibly super shitpost-y idea.

Me: Majora's weapons are whips, maybe I can draw a spirit for those (probably) magic whips?

My brain: ok cool, but consider: majora is their whip's spirit

Ok, this might be the sleep deprivation talking, but bear with me.

So, im drawing an eldritch horror version of Keaton majora. If I were to give it lore, then maybe it's a true form or something of majora, and the more tame Keaton majora design I have is a form they take on to interact with mortals.

What about plot for it? So like what if after Link kicks majora's ass, majora decides that link is now their kit. No one can dissuade majora from adopting the small horror murder child. Not even the small murder child in question.

So like, massive cosmic horror kitsune grooming a very disgruntled young hero of time.

Another thought:

Ganon: there you are hero of time-

Majora: *eldritch fox scream*

Ganon: GHAAA GET YOUR DOG BITCH!!

Link: they don't bite.

Ganon being mauled by majora: YES THEY DO!!

Next dumb thought: this Link becoming Time from the linked universe au. He starts calling twilight pup and wild cub because majora was always calling him kit. So like Twilight asking Time about where he came up with his nicknames and Time just says "oh yeah my adoptive cosmic horror calls me kit so I thought I'd just keep the theme going". And this becomes another "biggest thing he's faught is the moon" thing.

Majora has deemed that it is bath time for their kit. The kit is not amused about bath time.

Poor Link. First he gets in a fight with some monsters, and now he's getting covered in demon/possibly god slobber.
