Arranged marriage AU with Barbarian Bakugou who is so daunting to be around at first. He’s all gruff curses and broad shoulders and scarred cheeks and neck and jaw. He scowls constantly, stares at you while your parents auction you off like some show pig, but doesn’t say much to you besides a grunt of his name. You’re terrified, thinking that he’ll be cruel to you, that you’re being set up for a life full of unhappiness and terror and regret.

But he’s the exact opposite. Bakugou is gentle in ways a man of his size typically wouldn’t be, but he shrinks himself for you. Not in a way that diminishes his status as the newly appointed king, but to respect you, show you that you’re beside him instead of behind him.

He picks you berries on his hunts because he knows the smell of a fresh kill brings nausea to your stomach. You find him along with the other maidens and helpers around his village, sitting beside them, big fingers holding tiny little flowers that he weaves into a crown for you. When he sets it on your head, he purses his lips, mutters something under his breath in his language that you’re still not too familiar with, but sure it means something along the lines of pretty and soft.

And when he finds you bathing in the river only few have access to, he’s sweet the whole time. Doesn’t make a spectacle of you being naked, and is relieved when you don’t instantly cower when he wades his way over to you. You try not to stare at the clawed scars that decorate his pec and jaw when he stands above you, and it helps when he suddenly dumps water all over your head. He shushes you when you splutter, continues on with cupping his hands and letting the water run off of your hair and down your shoulders, scrubbing at your skin until your flesh squeaks. He doesn’t expect you to do the same for him, but he hums in satisfaction when you push him down a little lower so you can wash the crown of his head.

katsuki loves smacking your ass. in the living room when you’re just getting up from the couch, in the kitchen when you’re cooking his favorite, in the bedroom when you’re… sleeping.

it’s such a regular occurrence that you don’t even think about how that might affect your first son who is completely wrapped around your finger from day one. cue the constant competitions for your attention—the small acts of service ranging from your son helping you with the keys and coats to katsuki whipping out plane tickets for two to your dream vacation (receiving little glares from his son who he lovingly smirks at).

all is well, your boys fighting for your love and affection, until it happens.

katsuki landing the hardest smack on your bottom you’ve ever felt since giving birth. it shocks you enough to bring out a small gasp before narrowing your eyes at your partner, pushing down a smile. but before you can retaliate, your sweet son comes running up to you, frantic as if you had just been attacked—and in his eyes, you have.

“are you okay?!! are you okay—are you hurt??” his concern is nothing to laugh at and yet, you can’t help but find it adorable of how protective he is over you. “it’s okay, i’m okay.”

“are you sure? why’d he hit you like that??” this time you can’t stop the laugh that bursts out, the cramps in your stomach getting worse when you hear katsuki getting slapped multiple times along with a chain of ‘ow ow!’.

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but more people should read incomplete/unfinished/in-progress fanfics.

I've noticed this huge trend where creators on tiktok and tumblr who will be explaining how to use Archive Of Our Own to new users and they always say "and make sure to scroll down and click completed only" or how people will go out of their way to mention they only read completed fics 'because they were traumatized when they forgot to check the dates and didn't realize this fic hadn't been updated since 2012'.

The thing is - I think by not engaging with and/or actively avoiding writer's WIPs readers are potentially adding to the aggregate of abandoned works. Now this obviously isn't the case for all abandoned fics, anything from major life events, to loss of interest, to getting busy can be a reason for a fic getting abandoned - but at least on some level I just know that writers are quitting while they're ahead when they aren't garnering any response or feedback because reading WIPs has become unpopular. If you're worried about reading something that hasn't been updated since 2012 then you can use the date updated function to sort out old fics.

After a fight with Shouto Todoroki you ghost him on all platforms and don’t answer his calls.

But your eyes widen when he stands on your doorstep with the newest version of a phone and says: “ I’ve got you a new phone because your old one is broken. That’s why you couldn’t answer my messages, right? I also apologise for the things I’ve said to you”

You didn’t have the heart to tell him you ignored him on purpose and hugged him instead.
