She Hulk - Tumblr Posts
GUYS UM
So I literally just started writing about the history of She-Hulk and I am TERRIFIED. What if I'm wrong? What if I'm plagiarizing?? What if it's boring??? What if I'm not adding anything interesting????
I'd like to make it into a video essay (not sure if it counts as an essay?), so there are quite a few points...
I will talk about the comic version and the Disney+ show, but I have no idea what I'm doing lmao
Have a nice day!!

My Inktober 2016 (part 1) I didn't have time to finish it đ i just do it until day 19.... But meh. I would do it better the next year

She Hunk Predictions
Ok so this isnât as much a prediction as just some funny things I want to happen. Matt just... doesnât know what the Hunk actually is. No one told him what he looks like. So basically all he knows is the guys strong. He just genuinely thinks the Hulk is just a really big strong dude that occasionally breaks shit.Â
One day heâs in court and pandemonium breaks out and Matts just confused because why has my opposing council just grown like... two feet taller??? Everyones panicking because there is a Hulk in the courtroom. He gets his client to tell him whats going on and theyâre like âshe just turned big and greenâ I want Matt to just staunchly disbelieve that hulks are green. Like I want that be be a running gag in the show that Matt just thinks people are fucking with him. He can hear that theyâre telling the truth but heâs just like no, theres no way. He thinks either his senses are fucked up or people have found a way to lie to him. It doesn't matter how many times Jen tells him she's green he just wonât believe it.
Also I need Jen to 100% know who Matt is because, like Deadpool, she can break the fourth wall. But Matt doesnât know that she knows till she mentions it and he just freaks out because holy shit who spilled. He tries to lie about it and she's just like sure dude.
Jen walking into the court house and the camera pans to Matt who is opposing council. The frame freezes and Jen narrates âThis is Matt Murdock. He is a damn good lawyer from Hellâs Kitchen. Matt lives and breaths justice so much that he willingly goes out at night dressed in red leather (I know kinky right?) to beat up bad guys. I am not like Matt Murdock. I just wanna help by being a lawyer. But now I have to be a super heroâ (cuz if I understand correctly she is kind of resistant to being a super hero at first?) Â
Kind of in tandem to the last part I need Jen to break the four wall around Matt and Matt to just be... so confused. Who is she talking to??? Is someone there? Are they disguised from my senses? What is going on?!?!
Honestly I just want Jen to aggressively befriend Matt who is just literally perplexed the entire time. I feel like they could have such a good dynamic!Â
(lol sorry if this is all a little disjointed, its all from different conversations Iâve had with a friend that I tried to condense into one post. Also @marvelvibess may have come with some of this stuff so credit to them)   Â
Jen, Matt and Jess in court
This is kind of an addition to my last post
*Matt is representing Jessica Jones against someone who is being represented by Jennifer Walters. All hell breaks loose for some reason and Jen turns into the Hulk*
Matt: *slight fear* Jessica what the fuck am I sensing???
Jessica: I don't even know dude.
Matt: *trying to figure out wtf is going on while also being annoyed because he can't do shit right now with all these people here*
Jessica: *Placing herself between Matt and the chaos knowing full well he can handle himself but everyone else in the court doesn't so now she has to "protect" this dumbass lawyer who can totally defend himself*
Jessica: Calm the fuck down I got this.
Matt: *opens his mouth to protest*
Jessica: Don't you fucking dare out yourself, I got this covered congrats you're just a helpless blind lawyer now.
Matt: *glaring* I am not helpless!
Jessica: Thats why I told you, you fucking idiot! If you were helpless I wouldn't have had to say it! Now shut up!
Matt: *Sulks*
Jennifer: *listening to them bickering knowing full well who Matt is because of 4th wall breaking powers* Hey guys! What are you arguing about?
Jessica: *still standing protectively in front of Matt* My lawyer's an idiot
Matt: *offended noise*
Matt: Can someone please tell me what's going on?!
Jessica: Well she's like two feet taller now and green.
Matt: *visible confusion*
Jen: no no she's right
Matt: ha ha guys real funny to fuck with the blind guy
Jen: What? no we're not. I'm She-Hulk.
Matt: Haha Ya right Hulk's don't grow big and turn green.
Jen:...
Jessica:...
Everyone:...
Jessica: Dude what the fuck do you think a Hulk is???
Matt: *defensively* a really strong guy
Jen and Jess: đ¤Ś

"The best thing we can do with power is give it away" - On the leftist critique of superhero narratives as authoritarian power fantasies:
The ongoing "Jason Todd is a cop" debate has reminded me of a brilliant brief image essay by Joey deVilla. [EDIT: I SCREWED UP! This was created in 2019 by the guy who runs the Midnighter-Core page on Facebook, and Joey just reposted it!]
So here it is, images first and the full essay text below:

"A common leftist critique of superhero comics is that they are inherently anti-collectivist, being about small groups of individuals who hold all the power, and the wisdom to wield that power. I donât disagree with this reading. I donât think itâs inaccurate. Superheroes are their own ruling class, the concept of the Ăźbermensch writ large. But itâs a sterile reading. It examines superhero comics as a cold text, and ignores something that I believe is fundamental, especially to superhero storytelling: the way people engage with text. Not what it says, but how it is read. The average comic reader doesnât fantasize about being a civilian in a world of superheroes, they fantasize about being a superhero. One could charitably chalk this up to a lust for power, except for one fact⌠The fantasy is almost always the act of helping people. Helping the vulnerable, with no reward promised in return. Being a century into the genre, weâve seen countless subversions and deconstructions of the story. But at its core, the superhero myth is about using the gifts youâve been given to enrich the people around you, never asking for payment, never advancing an ulterior motive. We should (and do) spend time nitpicking these fantasies, examining their unintended consequences, their hypocrisies. But itâs worth acknowledging that the most eduring childhood fantasy of the last hundred years hasnât been to become rich. Superheroes come from every class (donât let the MCU fool you). The most enduring fantasy is to become powerful enough to take the weak under your own wing. To give, without needing to take. So yes, the superhero myth, as a text, isnât collectivist. But thatâs not why we keep coming back to it. Thatâs not why children read it. We keep coming back to it to learn one simple lesson⌠The best thing we can do with power IS GIVE IT AWAY." - Joey deVilla, 2021 https://www.joeydevilla.com/2021/07/04/happy-independence-day-superhero-style/

First day doodlesđâşď¸

Itâs hard to keep white clothes clean
This is WalthâJenâUlk, who is part of my âA-Force as Star Wars speciesâ I started a year ago. She is She-Hulk as a Chiss.Â

She-Hulk, my beloved, what did they do to you
So are we gonna bully Marvel into fixing their CGI Sonic the Hedgehog-style?
Really disappointed that âwomen can be both strong and feminineâ has been turned into âwomen can be strong but only if theyâre sexy about itâ by a lot of modern media.
time to bring back âwomen can be strong and they donât have to be feminineâ and also âwomen can be strong and they donât have to be sexyâ and also time to riot a little
