“Your thieving will be the death of you.” Her new fiend flung her off their shoulders.
Tav found herself bouncing on a plush mattress.
Hues of red, gold, and rich browns covered most surfaces. The aged stone walls were polished and intricately marbled – lavish. A tranquil trickling, like a small fountain, played in the room. The hint of added humidity made her struggled breaths less taxing. The decrepit crypt air was replaced with the layered aroma of luxurious oils and fresh linen – a hidden trace of incense and sex.
A high-pitched squeal broke the sensory spell.
Her fiend’s eyes snapped to the small squeak that came from the opposite end of the room. They glared, snatching a pouch from thin air, and chucking it in the direction of the sound.
‘Relax.’ The silky voice whispered in her mind.
Tav caved easily to the command. She flopped backwards; head tilted back as delayed reflexes tried to track the pouch’s path. Lazily pushing her head into the soft bedding and arching her neck to look at the source of the squeak. Secretly relishing the feel of extravagance cushioning her. Her raw awareness picked up every thread of silk and velvet brushing along her skin with each tiny movement.
The dueling toxins lulled her into a torrid, druggy state of ecstasy.
A small scantily clad maid caught the sack. The sound of coin sliding against coin jingled through the suite.
“I just fixed those!“ She complained, face twisting with irritation. Disgusted by their ruined appearances. Pink irises flicking from the fiend to Tav, squinting at the fiend for a second longer than what would be considered polite.

to the beautiful writers that might see this, ao3 is currently being scrapped by an AI company called RIVD. this isn't your usual AI text scrapping, they are specifically targeting ao3 to feed their own AI / "tech-oriented" fanfiction site
their "takedown form" demands that you give them your full legal name and address. they do not say what they're doing with your personal details. there's no proof that this form works
until ao3 comes out with a proper statement or manages to block their scrapper, just lock your fics for registered users

however, these people seem really vicious and really weird. so i really suggest looking around, keeping your fics locked if you feel comfortable with doing so, and waiting until we know more about it
